Special delivery from the CHO factory!

Unless you live under a rock, you probably know that Chobani has recently come up out with three new flavors of Greek yogurt for all of us enthusiasts to enjoy – Apple Cinnamon, Blood Orange, and Passion Fruit.

I was about to put some of these new flavors on my grocery list when Chobani emailed me to let me know they were sending some new flavors my way – score one for the team!

I have only already tried the Apple Cinnamon flavor – and I am in love. I add cinnamon to just about everything and chopped apples are one of my (and Charlie’s!) favorite snacks.

I was going to wait until I tried all three flavors to share these with you, but I just couldn’t wait – I’m too excited!

Since Chobani loves YOU (yes, you!) they want to send one of you a 12 pack of their new flavors. You will receive 4 Apple Cinnamon, 4 Blood Orange, and 4 Passion Fruit Greek yogurts. Then we can Skype and eat Greek yogurt together and discuss which one we love the best. Mmmhm, that’s what’s going to happen.

I would really like to try the Apple Cinnamon. Now, for the funny story: My wife is also a school teacher, so that means early mornings. She always gets up at 5 and takes a 40 minute shower, which I don’t mind because she let’s me sleep until she gets out. Well, she used up all the hot water this morning, so I groaned loudly as the water fell cold on my head. She came in and said “What is it?!” and I said “The water is freezing!” To which she said “I don’t think you know how the hot and cold knobs work.” All I could do is rip open the curtain and stand there, mouth agape. She still doesn’t think I know to turn down the cold knob when the water gets COLD. God bless her.

Funny story about my day..I took a picture of the enormous pile of dishes currently in my sink and sent it to my boyfriend to vent about my roommate’s lack of cleaning skills. Later that day, I took some cute photos of my roommate’s dog and was showing them to her…and then I scrolled one picture too far in my phone and the picture of our sink showed up. Needless to say, I quickly changed the screen and pretended no one ever saw it. #awkward

Funny story about my day? I met my friend for lunch and rather than walking to the restaurant (since I’m in college, and people walk everywhere), I drove down the block and parked at a meter. Definitely didn’t mention that I had to go because my meter was going to run out, just said I had to go. Too embarrassed about my laziness/fear of cold weather!

Funny story:

I was getting my car washed and I was chillin playing with my phone. I decide that maybe I want to take a picture of the car wash and share with people that I was finally cleaning my dirty car (why in the world did I think anyone would care I do not know). Car wash’s are very hard to photograph, so I sat there for a few minutes trying to get a good one. I look over by the gas pumps, and there is a man staring at me like WTF trying to take a picture of the car wash. I don’t know why but I found it hilarious and embarrassing.

I have a couple of funny teaching stories for you. First, long story short, I told my ninth-graders that I still “like to get dirty” – meaning, of course, that I didn’t mind playing soccer on the muddy field, going out in the rain, etc. Second, I introduced Shakespeare by talking about the Bubonic Plague; some of the little rascals decided to rename it the “Boobonic Plague.” Third, we started Romeo and Juliet today: try saying the phrases “Draw your tool!” and “My naked weapon is out!” in a room full of 14-year-olds.

I love my job.

Didn’t have anything too funny happened today, but over the weekend–I was walking out my backdoor to let my dogs out and a bird flew RIGHT IN OUR HOUSE! I was freaking out. Not only do I really dislike birds, but he was dive-bombing me in my own house as I ran around the kitchen. As I screamed (which my husband said was loud enough to alert the whole city), but I finally scared it enough to fly back out the door. I am still scared every time I open the door…and this morning as I was walking out to school, I saw another bird close to the house and I freaked out again…I think I am going to be a little apprehensive exiting the house for awhile… Hope this little story gets me an extra entry!

Funny story: Today i wen to a lightning show at a museum, these things are loud! I jumped the first few then was on my toes, my hands held near my ears ready to block them at the first sign of light. My boyfriend assured me that the sparks/noise would not start again until we could hear the generators (in the machine) well he was wrong BANG! I fell of my seat when we began to laugh the person talking gave us a dirty look and reminded evrone to remain quiet because others are attempting to enjoy the show (:

Funny story…after my last pregnancy, my hair has been a lot thinner. I bought a hair piece to make my hair seem fuller and wore it to my son’s school play. It fell out as I was sitting down in my chair and all the parents behind me saw a wad of hair on the floor. It was pretty embarrassing. My husband got a kick out of it. I was mortified.

funny story:

I’m in college at Marquette University. Today my statistics teacher made a student bring in candy for the whole 90 person lecture because he took attendance wrong last week. My statistics teacher went on to say that if you let the candy hit you in the head as he throws it out at the audience then you get extra credit points. I did a wonderful job of holding back my reflexes and letting the flying smarties and lemonheads smack me right in the face, as this little old chubby indian man chucked them all at us!
Unfortunately I didn’t even end up getting any extra credit!

Oh, and for my extra entry.. My funny story.. Definitely tucked my black tights into the back of my dress today during a quick potty break (I’m a 3rd grade teacher). Needless to say my 24 babies thought it was the funniest thing they ever did see. I tried to cooly play it off like I did it on purpose to make them laugh during math. Um, fail.

I have to say, that passion fruit flavor has me giddy with excitement. I generally tend to favor the berry flavored yogurts but there’s just something about passion fruit that screams, Eat Me! Not sure about the apple one. Seems like an odd flavor for yogurt. What are your thoughts on it? Maybe it would be good mixed into a baked good perhaps.

I got the strangest compliment from my 8th graders today. We were discussing the Great Depression and how it spurred the creation of various governmental regulation agencies, which then prompted a discussion of what governmental regulation is, which led to the example of drugs. The kids were arrested as I summarized the arguments for and against legalizing drugs.

Afterwards, one of the boys raised his hand and said, “Mrs. Z, you’re really good at explaining drugs. You should talk to the gym teachers.” I was about to laugh but I looked around and all the kids were nodding in agreement. Who’d have thought!? Apparently I missed my true calling when I signed up for history…

When I was a freshman in college I had an 8 a.m. class so I had to get up at 7 to get ready (read zombie, I used to hate waking up early!) and shower. So one morning I put on my robe, headed to the dorm showers, got into a shower, and turned the water on. I knew that something felt weird but I couldn’t quite figure it out so I just kept doing my thing. A few minutes later I looked down and realized I still had my socks on, in the shower! It was really interesting having to explain to my roommate why two soaking wet socks were hanging in our room!

Funny story – I’m teaching poetry to my seventh graders right now. This class is super naive – it’s like they are still in elementary school in the most precious way ever. They were doing a “free write” where they could pick their own topics, and one of my guys asked me a question about his poem. I asked what he was writing about and he replied “birds and bees” LOL. I calmly walked over and asked if I could read the poem, and sure enough, it was just about birds chasing bees…

My funny story for the day: I don’t get very much mail at my apartment address because everything goes to my mom’s house. This evening, though, I got to my apartment and my mailbox was overflowing with mail addressed to three different people–two different Jennifers and a Derek. When I called my mom, she was concerned that one of the letters was a utility bill and said that she would call to figure out what was wrong. As I was reading the address on the bill, I realized that all of the letters were delivered to the wrong address!

One girl gave the squiggle a try and stepped back so we could all look at her “creation”. & funny story about my day (it won’t make you fall out of your chair laughing but I still think its funny): I love to read & my friend and I have been reading the same books and tweeting about them to each other. I’ve been trying to find extremely loud & incredibly close and finally found it today & picked up another book too. I meant to tweet her about it, but didn’t mention her so I tweeted the whole world. This isn’t from today, but a couple of months ago I went to the grocery store at 10:00 at night for a pregnancy test and ice cream. The cashier commented that it was either going to be a very good night or a very bad night. Without even thinking about the pregnancy test, I replied, “Yeah! Love the new flavors! I found all three at my grocery store and immediately bought one of each even though I still had half a 12-pack from Sam’s Club in my fridge!

The apple cinnamon was SO good, definitely dessert worthy. The passion fruit had a great taste, but I am still not completely keen on the seeds like with the Pomegranate. And the blood orange was surprisingly my favorite I think. It seemed lighter than the apple cinnamon with the fresh citrus flavor. And blood oranges take me back to my days spent studying abroad in Italy!

I was in this super intense yoga/pilates class yesterday. I say intense because the instructor was really in the zone and her voice was sounded like she was in a trance the entire time. Kinda creepy actually. The lights were very dim the entire time and there was really quiet indie music playing in the background. Are you imagining the very quiet, serene environment right now?

The whole class bends down to stretch and someone lets out a huge fart. Ignoring it, my instructor proceeds to tell us to breathe deeply.

I got a good ab workout trying not to laugh the entire time.

Chobani is so great. Yum! I have actually never had a blood orange…need to get that on the shopping list. Would be great to try in the yogurt.

This morning I was settling in to my spot on the couch to do some Bible reading & journaling…which I typically do each morning but have been not doing this week because I haven’t been able to drag myself out of bed early enough. I pulled the big, brown blanket over myself as usual to keep myself warm, and I discovered…my hand-knitted hat that I’ve been missing since Sunday! I was so happy when I found the apple cinnamon flavor, because I always already would cut up apples and add cinnamon to my plain Chobani, so it was perfect for on the go!!!

Here’s a story that’s not as funny as you’re going to want it to be. I was feeling lazy yesterday, so I decided to skip the gym and do a Shaun T. dance party workout DVD instead. 1. I left my blinds open and live in the middle of Times Square, basically, so probably gave some tourists a terrible show, and 2. I decided halfway into it that I was bored and over it and sat down on the couch and watched the rest. Yes, watched it.

Wow! I love Chobani yogurt and am so excited about the new flavors! I first saw the new flavors at Target and was hording them so no one else would take mine. Very silly of me. Anyway, I tried the apple cin and the blood orange and both are great! Now I really want to try passion fruit because someone got to all of those at Target before I could!

I want, no NEED to try the blood orange. The newbies were on sale for a dollar at target and I’m hitting myself for not getting them grrrrrr.

As for a funny story, I left my umbrella on the bus and got soaked, but that’s more sad than funny, huh? It became funny when I saw what my hair looked like.

I also got adorable black heels SUPER on sale at college night at Urban Outfitters. The grand total was $6.99, aka they were free, and that is funny.

So, funny story (sort of) and it involves yogurt! As we were shopping today, drooling over the wonderful chobani flavors, my husband started suggesting we get some, then noticed the little “fruit on the bottom” writing on them. Suddenly he got all grossed out and became totally against all these amazing yogurts. Seriously?!? Who doesn’t like “fruit on the bottom” yogurt? I was ready to defend any and all yogurts with real fruit in them, and I started pointing at and reaching for yogurts and making wild gestures with my hands to show how amazing these chobani yogurts must be, when somehow a couple of yogurt cups go flying into the air, I poke one open with the pen I’m holding, and SPLAT! The floor is covered with purple goop. Ooops. Needless to say, we did not get any “fruit on the bottom” yogurt.

Are any of the flavors husband friendly? (i.e. No fruit-on-the-bottom?)

funny story: I was at the gym minding my own business (not very sociable at the gym, no way) and some creepy guy started to use the elliptical next to me (which is funny in itself). He was semi odd looking and …. gross. He kept looking over at me so it was really weird. Well, after some time I was walking around the gym and my iPod slipped out of my hand and went flying across the gym….I don’t think I have to tell you who conveniently picked it up……………………..and chatted me. *shudder shudder* Ok so not that funny per say, but further exemplifies why my life is a walking awk moment!
