crockpot giveaway!

March 13, 2012

As someone who lives a fairly healthy lifestyle, one question I receive frequently is how I stay motivated to eat healthfully (the majority of the time!). For me, it’s all about planning ahead. We all know life is busy, but with a little prep work and planning, you can make it easy for yourself to eat healthfully.

One of my favorite kitchen tools to use is my Crockpot. It makes my life simpler on those days where I just don’t have time to prep any kind of healthy dinner when I get home from a long day.

Anyone want to win a Crockpot today?

Slimkicker is giving a CEC reader an opportunity to win a 3 quart stainless steel Crockpot. Slimkickers is a website that helps users do the following.

I keep myself motivated to stay healthy by loving when my pants fit loose and hating when they are tight lol. After losing 100lbs there is no better feeling to put on a pair of jeans that were tight a month ago and to have them now falling off :)

Crock pot for the win!!

Cheesy motivational quotes go a long way with me. I like to tell myself that “it always seems impossible until it’s done” and “you are so much stronger than you think”

Amy B @ Second City Randomness March 13, 2012 at 6:08 am

I train for something. It helps me map out what kind of workouts I’ll need and keeps me thinking about how I need to be eating at least relatively healthy in order to be able to get through it all.

I really want that freakin’ crockpot! I have a massive one and downsizing a bit would make so much more sense. A crockpot collection wouldn’t be weird, would it?

I keep myself motivated because my diet is so strict already due to a gluten, sugar and dairy intolerance that it takes a little extra motivation to make sure i’m eating whole foods instead of just substitutes!

I know the difference in how I feel when I make healthy choices and when I make unhealthy choices, so whenever I’m having a hard time choosing I just always remind myself of how it feels to make healthy choices and how those healthy choices are what will pay off for my health both now and in the long run!

My kids’ encouragement and praise that I look way younger than their friends’ parents gives me a chuckle and fuels my desire to stay fit. Plus I know I am setting a good example with my vegan lifestyle and workout ethic. Hopefully they will choose a path of health and wellness….just like their cool mom. :)

My motivation comes from a lot of different places. Mostly, I just feel amazing when I work out and eat heathy! I also love knowing that I am being good to my body and the reward comes from feeling great. Blogs, like yours, also help me stay motivated. It’s really nice to relate to women all over the country, and even world, in keeping up a healthy lifestyle. Especially after dealing with anorexia for many years, it’s wonderful when I see so many people coming together in the online community and sharing their stories and passion for healthy living.

Holy moly!! A Crockpot would be highly valuable in my kitchen!! To stay motivated I try to challenge myself in several different ways. I am a goal oriented person and need constant variety. I set weekly and monthly fitness/health goals for myself. (This week I am working on stretching/foam rolling for 10 min every night!) Along with this, I always have some long term goal I am aiming for, like a race. Another great way to stay motivated is to have your friends be apart of your healthy lifestyle. Invite them on a bike ride, go for a run or walk, or stroll a farmer’s market together! Another great way to stay motivated is making it fun! When you lose motivation, take a dance class! Be silly and have fun with shakin’ that money maker!!

Jamie Eason is one of my main motivators! I came across her, almost 6 years ago now, and I have been amazed at how far she has come, both physically (after breast cancer) and mentally. Having her being so receptive to people and desire to teach the healthy lifestyle, makes me want to do the same. There is nothing better, than the feeling you get, after you have drained your muscles at the gym, and have this healthy glow on your skin and the pure feeling of accomplishment! And the ultimate, vain payoff? Having a tight booty in a bikini on the beach is a bonus ;-)

Staying motivated to eat healthy is incredibly difficult at home! The biggest motivation for me, though, is remembering how my body used to feel before eating healthily and how much more energy I have when I do try to eat clean. I also try to recall how awful I felt when I ate comfort foods and sweets for a few days after eating clean for a month. I fully agree that preparing food beforehand is the best way to stay on track!

The moment I slack off on my fitness I have trouble falling asleep, and as soon as I overindulge my stomach begins to protest. So I guess my motivation for staying active and eating well is my own body!

I don’t let myself watch my favorite tv shows when they air anymore. I watch them on my laptop while I run on the treadmill. This way I still get to see my shows and I’m not bored while running.

I keep myself motivated stay fit and eat healthy by Planning! If you don’t have a plan or a goal neither will be accomplished! This Crock-pot would make it extra easy to plan healthy soups and hearty-healthy meals with!

The way I feel when I eat healthy motivates me. I ate pizza for dinner tonight and I have been sooo thirsy from all that salty processed food. Makes me want a big ol green smoothie!

Wow this is amazing! I stay healthy by planning! I plan my workouts and meals for the week, but a crockpot would make life so much easier if I don’t have the time to prepared days in advanced :)

Reply

Nicole G March 13, 2012 at 9:53 pm

Winning a crockpot would be amazing! I always see recipes using it and have to ignore it since I don’t have one/can’t justify buying one given my financial situation.

I stay healthy and fit by planning my meals and trying to eat as much wholesome and as little processed food as possible.

Such an excellent giveaway! To keep myself motivated to stay fit and eat healthfully, I remember the 11 years that I suffered from Bulimia Nervosa; and I muster the necessary mental and therefore physical strength to nourish the body which I treated poorly for so long. I believe that a crock pot will be a wonderful addition to that nourishment system. :) xxx

I have a big calendar on my wall that faces my bed. On days I exercise I mark a big star. When I lay in bed and see all of my stars, I feel inspired to keep going. I just realized this sounds like a typical child reward system. haha.

I’m a dancer, so to motivate myself to stay fit I find it’s easiest to commit to a class. If I’m committed to a class then I know that there are other dancers (and the teacher) who expect me to be there. I guess it’s a group motivation that helps motivate me to get fit. To motivate myself to eat healthily, I just think how awful I feel when I don’t eat healthy foods -
