This weekend marks the official “unofficial” start of summer — Memorial Day weekend! I don’t know about you, but it has already been hot here, and this summer it’s bound to get even hotter.
During the summer, I take on a completely different beauty routine than during the year when I work. I typically go without makeup and rarely dry my hair. I’m a “shower and go” kind of girl in the summer. It give my body a break from clogged pores from makeup and hair breakage from all of the horrible heat I treat my hair with. Even though I tend to wear makeup every day when I go to work, I’ve never been the kind of girl who primps in front of the mirror for hours on end — give me twenty minutes and I’m good to go. I’m not sure if I should be proud of my sometimes sheer laziness that doesn’t want to put effort into drying my hair or putting on makeup, but I’m glad I’m not afraid to go out in public in my barest form.
A few weeks ago, I was given the opportunity from Daily Buzz to try out a few new deodorants from Dove — specifically their Clear Tone line. I was sent the regular clear tone deodorant as well as the clinical protection.
The clear tone products are designed to help correct dark marks on your underarm skin while also keeping you fresh and dry. I’ve tested both deodorants out over the past few weeks, and I have to say I really like them! For some reason I’ve never tried out Dove deodorants because I never thought they would be strong enough to keep this girl from sweating. Seriously, don’t ask me why I had this thought — I have no clue!
Both of the deodorants have great girly flowery smells, which I like. I wouldn’t be lying if I told you I maybe sniffed my armpits just to smell the scent. I’m highly unusual. Even after a few hours of being out in the sun working (remember my gardening excursions?), I was fairly dry and not smelly at all. That’s what I call a win win! The clinical protection definitely works harder than the regular strength. Whenever I wear it, my underarms are freakishly dry.
I was hoping these products would go on clear and not get on my clothes, but that wasn’t the case. I have yet to find a deodorant I like that goes on clear — I’m not a fan of the clear gels. They go on all cold and never seem to dry! I also don’t find that my underarms have dark spots so I can’t say whether or not the clear tone products work in that sense.
Overall, I’m a fan! I’d definitely buy these with my own money in the future.
Question: How will you “go bare” this summer?
As part of the DailyBuzz Healthy Living Program, I received free Clear Tone Deodorant and a stipend from Dove. However, my opinions are entirely my own.
