I hope you enjoyed reading the first half of my weekend in gorgeous Montana! Saturday was another fun filled (and absolutely GORGEOUS) day. Unfortunately my internal clock wakes me up early regardless of whether or not I need to get up. We both took our time to get ready, drank some coffee (pumped – that’s a whole other post… pumping and traveling. Anyone interested in that post?) , and got ready for our morning. We had a yogalates class scheduled for 9 AM, so we decided to grab a light breakfast before the class.
Ummmm, about that light breakfast. Do you know how hard it is to have a “light” breakfast when there are so many delicious options on the menu? We scrapped that idea the second we saw the menu. We sipped on some coffee and both ordered veggie omelets and toast (well…. Chocolate chip pancake for Court!).
During this time, the CEO of the resort stopped by to ask us how our stay had been so far. I thought it was incredibly nice of him to check in with us to see how things were going. I could truly tell how much pride he had in his resort, and I don’t blame him. It is an incredible place!
Our yogalates class was amazing. It took place outside overlooking the gorgeous pastures and mountains. I had never taken a yogalates class, and I was pleasantly surprised. It had some pilates moves that I am familiar with, and it also had some sun salutations and vinyasa type yoga moves I am accustomed to. Courtney and I were the only two in the class, so it was nice to receive some individualized attention. The hour went by very quickly, and before I knew it, our instructor, Laura, was covering us with blankets to relax for the last few minutes.
The rest of the morning and early afternoon was ours to spend however we wanted to. We relaxed (and took a nap on the couch), got some lunch, and I facetimed with my little ladies. I was more than happy to see their little faces – I missed them!
At 2:00, we had geocaching plans! We met as a group and split up into two teams. If you’ve never geocached before, it is pretty fun! It’s basically a scavenger hunt with the use of a GPS device that points you to your next location. Because it was a contest between the two teams, it was ON! We trekked through the forest, got wet and dirty, and I swear I felt like I was going to die. High elevations are no joke. How do people who live in locations like Montana make it? I thought I was going to pass out! Our team ended up winning (we were a little tooooo competitive), and Skinny Cow gifted us with Bluetooth speakers for our phone. How cool!
Shortly after we got back, we headed to our cabin to get ready for the evening. We had a closing group dinner to attend, and we certainly didn’t want to show up in our workout gear. After getting ready, a van came to pick us up and brought us to Pinnacle Camp. The set up for dinner was gorgeous. The rustic setting along with the pops of color the team decorated with pulled everything together. We ordered our favorite Huckleberry Hound drink (although once you get two in you those become “blood hounds”… and if you drink three, they become “hound dogs”. Oy – that’s what you get when a few moms go away and have some drinks!), and socialized with the other fabulous women who were in attendance.
Shortly after we arrived, we sat down to dinner. It was amazing! The chefs cooked on site, and everything was tasty as ever. Our appetizer included smoked salmon, crusty bread, and a cream cheese spread. I stuck to the salmon with just a touch of the cream cheese, and it was out of this world. Oh what I would give for a slab of crusty bread sometimes!
We also had a choice between soup or salad – I chose the salad and I was glad that I did.
Our entrée included rib eye, scallops, mashed potatoes, and roasted vegetables. Dessert was crème brulee! By the time we were done, we were incredibly stuffed.
Some girls had room for some s’mores, and our personal campfire butlers offered their marshmallow roasting services… I kid you not. They think of everything at that resort!
I am pretty sure at this point of the night, I was crying from laughing so hard!
After a fun time (and a lot of shenanigans), we called it a night a little early – we had an early flight to get to the next morning.
My time at the Paws Up Resort was incredible. If you ever get a chance to travel to Montana, I highly recommend staying there. A big thanks goes out to Courtney (who I certainly owe a trip to Mexico for inviting me to go with her), all the staff at Paws Up, as well as Mode Media and Skinny Cow for putting everything together. I had a blast!

those tents look absolutely fantastic and the omelet (as I’ve been craving eggs!) amazing!!!
I really want to go there!!! How many days/nights did you stay?
And yes i would love a traveling and pumping post!
I have it in the works for you - look out for it sometime next week!
We stayed 3 nights and because of our flight schedule, only 2 full days!
That looks and sounds like the perfect relaxing getaway!
I miss you guysssss…
I miss you too - pretty sure I have gone through withdrawals. To keep your spirit alive in Chicago, I have been saying ya’ll (only in my head though….)
The weekend sounds pretty much perfect! Next time I’m coming in your suitcase!
How about next time I just come to AZ!
looks like such a fabulous trip! I would LOVE a post on pumping and traveling! I have 5 month old twin boys and a few trips coming up including my first flight WITH them next week! EEK
This sounds like such a perfect trip! I looked at the website because I thought it’d make a nice anniversary trip for my husband and I, but oh my gosh, it’s so expensive! I need to win the lotto
.
It is pretty expensive - the flights to Montana put the icing on that cake!
Well, this just confirms it…I need to go glamping at some point in my life! This resort sounds amazing, as does the food! I love the idea of yogalates outside - what a peaceful setting!
P.S. - I hope you don’t mind if I email you in the near future. I’m pregnant with twins!!!! We’re so excited and scared do death at the same time! I could definitely use some advice/tips.
CONGRATS!!! Absolutely email me - I’d love to chat!
Oh my goodness, SO jealous - that looks amazing! That’s my kind of camping!
Josh and I are headed to Paws Up for our 3rd anniversary trip next May (yes already planned!) - cannot wait. Looks amazing!!
Lucky you!!! How/When did you hear about the resort?!
Our good friends have a home near Whitefish, Montana (must be nice, right?) - and every time we visit them, we always hear about Paws Up…so we decided to give it a go! Josh is a big fly fisherman…so it’s perfect for us
Sounds like an amazing trip! So much better than regular camping
I’m not a huge fan of camping, but this actually sounds like fun!
What a beautiful place! That definitely puts the GLAM in glamping
Glad you ladies enjoyed, you definitely deserved it!
PS. Was SO pumped to see I had to catch up on your blog
It looks like you had a truly incredible weekend. Not that Montana has ever been on my list of “must-sees” but if by some chance I am there I need to check this resort out! It looks perfect!
It had never been on my must sees either but it is gorgeous!
What an awesome looking getaway! Fun! Montana isn’t far from me. Would be great vacation idea.
A pumping and traveling post would be helpful for the moms out there. I pumped while traveling to kauai and remember searching the internet for advice. Advice about getting through security with milk, where to pump on the plane (I had to in bathroom after checking with flight attendant) as it’s a long flight, keeping milk cold is welcomed info.
I have one in the works!
The resort looks fantastic, and Montana is such a beautiful place. But what is…yogalates?? I have a pretty regular yoga practice, and I’ve been thinking of giving pilates another go, mainly prompted by this article I read recently: http://watchfit.com/yoga-v-pilates/. But perhaps yogalates might be a better way to incorporate some of the beneficial parts of pilates into my practice? Would you recommend it?
I’m guessing a mix between yoga and pilates! We started with the traditional pilates 100 and some of the thigh exercises but threw a few sun salutations in as well!
