busywork

November 1, 2010

So many of you are probably in such a sugar coma that you’re not quite sure you can make it through the day. I’m in a coma too – I think I OD’ed on salt last night. I don’t usually salt my recipes too much and don’t crave salty foods. However, yesterday my sister in law made pumpkin seeds which were out of this world. First they were boiled in salt water & then roasted with so much salt I had to lick my fingers after eating them. Needless to say, they were delicious. Not only was getting my pants on this morning rough (hello water retention), but my head is pounding a ridiculous amount.

Pass me the h20 – today is going to be rough.

In case you were too cool to jump online this weekend because you were out celebrating Halloween hard, feel free to catch up with me this morning!

I hope this keeps you busy until I come back later – actually, I take that back. If this does keep you busy until I come back later, you will need to take a trip back to school. I’ll even be your fifth grade teacher.

I definitely ODd on some sugar yesterday. Sugar free week begins NOW.

And that pumpkin hummus is on my To Do list.

It’s officially the start of the holiday season when being in a food coma becomes a weekly routine :)

Ah, I’m definitely guilty of salt overdose when I’m on a soup kick! Normally I make my own, so I can keep tabs on the salt content, but sometimes I crack open a can, and then my sodium intake is a little crazy!

I’m glad you linked those other posts! Pumpkin Hummus sounds so good!

Salt can be so evil. I love it, but I am trying to cut back on it. I hope you detox well today! Have a great one!

Water, water, water :) My ring was a bit tight this morning. I managed to pass on all halloween candy though. Question for you…how did you discover your food intolerance’s? I believe that you said a doctor told you? I am trying to figure out if I have a nut and wheat intolerance. My allergist is no help since I am not allergic. Not sure where to go from here…sick of having an upset tummy all of the time. Thanks :)

I’m still in a chocolate induced coma! The worst part? The big bowl of Hallowe’en candy that is still sitting on my living room table - I have a feeling this may be a week-long love affair!

I love pumpkin seeds, but I can’t eat them if they’re too salty. You’ve got the right idea with your water overdose today, hopefully your pants are fitting looser by the end of the day! :)

I totally hear you on the salt water retention. My body is hyper sensitive to salt. Once I eat something salty, I can honestly feel my body start to puff out! : )

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.
