As I am slaving away at parent teacher conferences, I didn’t want to leave you all in the dust. However, I knew when I got home at 9 p.m. that I would be way too tired to eat a snack, let alone write a post. Little did you know as a student that teachers dread parent teacher conferences just as much as you.
Okay, maybe not me… because I like to to talk. A lot.
So, instead you can feel sorry for me that I am still working. With that I present to you, the first installment of 3 truths, 1 lie.
1. When I was younger, I used to cut all the hair off of my Barbie dolls. My dad found all the dolls’ hair under my bed in a plastic bag. When I was confronted about it, I played innocent claiming, “I had no idea where that came from!”
2. I used to love yellow - all things yellow. I begged my parents to let me paint my room yellow. Then, after a couple of years, I was sick of yellow. My room “kept waking me up in the morning.”
3. The thought of eating vegetables when I was little made me gag. My dad used to have to sing a song to me called “Eat Those Beans” so I would eat them.
4. I have always been a “play it safe” kind of girl. I vividly remember crying hysterically because when I was little, my friend unbuckled my seatbelt in the car when it was moving.
So, there you have it - which one is the lie?

Guessing number two is the lie.
i remember playing this game for freshman orientation. i was awful at lying. yours are all really good though because they each have stories : I’ma go wiiiithhhhh…4?
I think the second one about the yellow fetish is a lie:) WHAT A FUN IDEA! You never cease to entertain me!
I have pt conferences tomorrow!! GRRR!!! I love my students but their parents are crazy!! Good luck!
It’s kind of funny how many teachers dislike parent-teacher conferences. I’m guessing #2 is the lie.
This is funny. I think #1 is the lie. Oh, how I remember PT conferences. I didn’t love them. Not one bit.
Hummm!
I am torn. I can’t decide between # 2 and # 3.
I think I will hop on the band wagon and go with #2.
I think 3 is a lie.
My friend totally cut all of her Barbies’ hair. Then they became the “bad barbies” that no one wanted to play with…
Hmm….this is a tough one…but I’m going to guess #4!
I’m going to guess number 2 (I did have a yellow bedroom in high school). I teach 7th grade, and I am SO thankful we switched to group conferences where one parent meets with all their child’s teachers at once (unless there is some individual concerns). I hope they go well!
I’m guessing #2 is a lie.
Hmm, I’ll go with #2?? Haha, I have no idea. Since I’ve just started reading your blog I don’t have much to go by.
My friends who are also teachers have parent-teacher conferences this week! They told me it’s like 5hrs of conferencing. Ah, you poor things!
hmmmm I’m gonna say 2 is a lie!! I bet you do love yellow… except I don’t think you got sick of it! I love yellow, it’s so happy
I wanna say #2 but the fact that everyone else is picking that makes me want to pick #3 instead. I had to do this in class once and I was awful at it. If #1 isn’t true you sure are good at coming up with weird things!!
I’m going to say #2! I like this game
I think I have to join the rest of the guessers and say that the lie is #2!! I really hope it is!!
Umm 2? I have no idea! Those are tough ones.
I’m goona guess number 2, dunno why just seems a less plausible statement (sorry if I’m wrong haha) xx
Hmmmm…#2 or 4? I’m hoping it’s not #1 because then I’ll feel better about cutting the hair off of my own Barbies…
When I first started reading this post I thought you were going to talk about how you tell parents three truths and one lie about their child during your conferences! Ha ha!
Anyways, I think #2 is a lie!
I’m going to guess that the vegetable statement is a lie.
Hope you get some relaxation time in between all your meetings.
Good luck at your parent/teacher conferences! What a neat idea about the 3 truths and 1 lie. I have no idea, though, which one to guess….
I’m going with number 3
haha I’m HOPING the first one is a lie because I just LOVED barbies growing up and the thought of hurting them makes me sad
#3?
I’m going to say that #4 is the lie! They’re all really convincing though….
Oooh, I love this! Hmm let’s see, I’m going to have to choose # 1 since no one else has
