the verdict

November 22, 2010

Yes, those would be my keys.

After my crazy morning, I realized a few things:

a) I don’t like it when my mornings don’t go as planned.
b) I’m never giving my keys to the Husband again.

They were found in our grass next to our shed. Apparently after we got home yesterday, he went and brought a box out to the shed (that had been sitting in the kitchen for over a week mind you…. but that’s an entirely different story) and dropped them.

However, this was only realized after:

a) I had to drive his truck to school.
b) He went to the dealership to get a new key and told them it would be almost as much as our life savings to tow my car to the dealership and get a different reprogrammable key.

I know since you are super understanding, that you get it when I tell you I don’t have a picture of my breakfast this morning – I was too busy telling the Husband “thanks for ruining my ‘me’ time” and counting to ten so I didn’t explode.

I am now going to attempt to once again get up in the morning to go work out, which I really need to do. I feel like I’ve done nothing but sat today (conferences again) and I basically just gorged myself at Jason’s Deli. How can one honestly get so full from eating vegetables? I seriously wanted to die on the ride home.

My mom came and met me up at my school so we could go to Jason’s for dinner once I was done.

This may not look like much – but I swear it was.

Or maybe it was the gobs of hummus I ate.

Or the baked potato the size of my head.

Whatever the case may be, I’m full – and I’m sleeping with my car key under my pillow tonight.

Question: Where is the weirdest place you have ever “lost” something?

I lose stuff SO frequently- like I’ll have my cars in my key to start the heat and then flip out before realizing… they are obvi in the car! Or in my hand… this weekend I lost my gym bag… AT THE GYM!!!

I am such a klutz/scatterbrain!

Yay - Glad you found your key. While I was out clothes shopping one time, I placed my keys down on a clothing rack while I was looking for a shirt in my size and then left the area. I had to turn the store upside down to locate it if I had any interest in heading home that night.

Bahaha!! I’m so glad that you found them!!! (Or is it just one key? I’m confused!)

I took the car key off of my key ring because when I gave it to the Husband yesterday, I needed to get into the house to start on dinner. So, I had my house key, just not my car key.

Glad you found your keys! Once I left my keys in my coat pocket and put my coat away in the closet. For the life of me, I couldn’t remember they were there. It took me forever to finally find them!

My friend “lost” her phone over the weekend while we were shopping. After going back to the cash register and looking through the store, we realized that she was holding it under her armpit, and had been since she paid. I also lost my wallet/camera in a bathroom this weekend, but that didn’t work out as well as your keys :(

I had to drive to work in my dad’s truck today because I was running late & my jeep was out of gas…. my boss asked if I was going hunting after work :P

haha! No one saw me pull up in the truck, so I didn’t have too many questions…

I hate loosing things, it drives me crazy.
Good thing you found them…doesn’t sound
like an easy place to spot those hiding keys.
Hopefully tomorrow morning will go better.

It’s Monday - aka you’re 100x more likley to lose things, it’s a fact! Good thing is that Monday’s only come once a week ;)

p.s. I am a gramma freak…so lemme fix that - “likely”, not “likley” haha!

Here is a funny story - every night i sleep with earplugs in order to fall asleep. Well I didn’t “lose “my earplug per-say but once one fell out of my shirt while I was on the elliptical. Ha very embarrassing.

I’ve lost a lot of things only to realize that.. I’m holding whatever it is I “lost”. Yeah. I’m bright.

That, my dear, is a lot of hummus. I’m proud of you.

I just read your post after writing mine and dang we are so alike. I too had a huge salad bar for dinner and related my meal to the size of my head. I am so glad you found the key but sorta pissed you missed out on your ‘me’ time. Good luck in the morning!

Isn’t it crazy how much those keys are to get a copy of??? I luckily have an extra one, but am sure I do anything just short of risking my life to make sure I don’t ever lose the keys I currently use!

cleaneatingchelsey November 23, 2010 at 6:14 am

Yes - the Husband’s “lecture” to me (as if I was the one to have lost the keys in the first place): “We’re only getting you a copy for if you lock your keys in the car, not to start the ignition. So, you better pray to God that you never lose them.”

Remember that I had nothing to do with the lost keys. :)

Yikes - I’m really glad you found them AND you still have your life savings, though ;) I HATE rushed, frantic mornings too, so I can certainly understand where you’re coming from. It’s even worse when you’ve got something planned. I hope this morning went better :)
And I think “vegetable full” is the worst full there is. At least for me…it sneaks up. And all of a sudden, out of nowhere, I’m about to explode with a veggie baby. haha

that’s totally how it was for me - especially because of that potato…holy cow white potatoes make me FULL!!!!

What a relief you found your keys!

I once lost my emerald ring in the grass at a park. I never did find it. :(

Yay you found them!

Hmmm…I ‘lost’ my favorite ring only to find out it fell off in a box of shoes that I hadn’t worn in some time.

I want to go to jason’s deli soooooooooo much!!!!!!!!!! everything looks absolutely wonderful! As for “losing” the keys, well at least you didn’t actually have to buy a new set.

Ahhhh I love the hummus at Jason’s!!!! haha it’s SO good on salad! I’m pretty sure it was where I first tried hummus on salads and fell in love!

I’m glad you found your keys! It’s crazy how stupid-expensive it is to replace those things!

What a strange place to lose the key. Our lost stuff is usually underneath piles of clothes on the dresser.

Awww, this post cracked me up! Hide yo’ keys!

We once sold our tires and rims off of our car and had a hundred dollar bills laying all around from the dude that bought them…as we were counting them to go and deposit the cash we were a hundred short! We looked everywhere, I MEAN EVERYWHERE! and then I thought “what if we threw it out?” so in the garbage we rummaged and sure enough the hun was stuck nicely to a nut butter jar :|

If it was $10 bucks I wouldn’t have rummaged, but a hun, thats good coin ;)

xxoo

I was super unorganized one day and put my phone in the fridge by accident. Luckily, I went in the fridge right after I had put it in there, so the little thing didn’t get too cold lol

Glad you found them but it’s nearly, kind-of, worse when you realise you were within feet of something all the time you were looking for it…
I once lost my car keys when I’d taken my horse out in the lorry. I looked everywhere, rang the place I’d been, ended up walking home (in December) and cycling back with my spare key - only to find the others in the horse section of the lorry about 10 minutes later. Aaaaaarggggh :-)
Very glad you hadn’t shelled out for new ones though!

Hmm I can’t remember the weirdest place I’ve left my keys but when I was 3 my dad lost his wedding ring and found it in this little shopping cart I pushed around our house, haha! Glad you found them.

When I was little, my dad and I went on a trip to South Carolina. He hid his truck keys in the ice bucket in the hotel for some reason and forget them when we flew back. My mom had to drive the spare keys to us at 5 in the morning, so we could drive back from the airport!
