celebration

February 4, 2011

Tonight — I am celebrating.

I am busting out all the stops.

For starters, it’s Friday — which I really needed.. because you know, the two snow days weren’t enough.

My pupster went from a pathetic, lifeless baby…

to a happy, energetic boy in a mere 18 hours.

The Husband brought him back to the vet this morning and after another x-ray, the vet said his intestinal swelling was going down and the foreign object had made progress towards… the other end (if ya know what I mean).

I got the best text message of my life at 10 AM this morning. I believe the Husband’s exact words were: “He sh*t.”

We’re classy around here — and we rejoice when socks come out the other end.

You would too if it meant your bank account was salvaged as a result.

Did I also mention the Husband? He’s back home after 60 hours of snow plowing. Another reason why I’m celebrating this evening. The times I did see him I almost felt like I was dreaming because I was half in and out of sleep in the middle of the night. He was there — but then gone again when I woke up.  It got pretty quiet around here when I didn’t have anyone to nag for the last three days.

Oh, and my front walk is finally shoveled — our poor mailman probably didn’t like us too much the past few days.

See? We have so much to be celebrating tonight. Which is why I pulled out a celebratory dinner.

Giant salad topped with tofu and my weight in roasted veggies.

You don’t celebrate with meals like this?

I’m starting to think you all are really strange.

Question: What are you celebrating today?

Faith February 5, 2011 at 11:45 am

Aww, glad he feels better!!!

Got a quick question - how much money do you usually spend on your dog each month? I’m seriously thinking about getting one when I move to Orlando, but I want to budget him in first to make sure I can handle it!

Reply

cleaneatingchelsey February 5, 2011 at 12:11 pm

That’s hard to say - we just got him in December, and the first few months have been pretty expensive (ie: adoption fees, first vaccinations, he had worms and needed antibiotics, and now this whole debacle with the socks) and we’ve probably spent close to $1000 on him. If he wasn’t such a nut, I’m sure it would be less. :)

He is a Pit Bull Terrier Mix - he is such a sweet thing. I think Pitbulls get such bad reps. Charlie loves EVERYONE!!!

Oh I’d absolutely celebrate like that. If you ever need someone to celebrate with, hit me up.

My dog used to eat socks and then poop them out in the back yard….my mom would find them, wash them twice, then make us wear them again. I wish I was kidding.

Reply

cleaneatingchelsey February 5, 2011 at 3:34 pm

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEW!!! The Husband definitely threw that baby out.
