marriage considerations

February 11, 2011

When I was considering marrying the Husband, I had to do a lot of thinking. You see, I’m a very complex person, and I needed someone who would compliment these attributes and make me a better person.

I needed someone who was smart, funny, and someone who would deal with my shenanigans. I also needed someone to understand that my control issues and love for food always comes first.

Which is why when I received this text message earlier, I couldn’t help but fall in love a little bit more with the Husband.

Because he knows I would freak out if I came home to find there were no bananas — doesn’t everyone? I may or may not have sent my brother to the store one night (around 11 p.m.) a few years ago as his punishment for eating my last banana. Yes, I know — crazy.

But I totally don’t regret it.

When the Husband asked me to marry him, I knew I could live a day without him. I did, however, overlook one of his (very few) flaws.

Cabinets and drawers.

You may remember me running into an open drawer in the middle of the night a while ago. I don’t talk about it very often because it pains me to talk about it (literally), but it happens on quite the normal basis around here.

Needless to say, when I walked into the kitchen last night to find this, I was not amused.

Okay, maybe I was a little amused.

Did I seriously say I wanted someone who was funny? I totally take that one back.

Question: Do you and your family play pranks on each other?
