craving crisis averted

February 18, 2011

When I crave foods, I crave them — hard. I spend my entire day (or week in this case) thinking about the craved food, dreaming of the craved food, and imagining what it will taste like when I get to eat it.

It’s okay if you make fun of me — I won’t care. This week I was craving some sushi hardcore. I could not get it off my brain. I had to have it. Which is why when I realized that Friday night is pizza night, I could get sushi takeout instead, and the Husband could still get his coveted pizza.

6 avocado rolls + 6 asparagus rolls = pure bliss

This meal definitely did not disappoint. I love the seaweed wraps on sushi — that’s my favorite part. I know a lot of people like the rolls that don’t have the seaweed, but I crave that saltiness of the seaweed paper!

It also helped that I figured out I could change my white balance on my camera for ridiculously horrible lighting — changing you ISO + White Balance makes the world go round. And if you have no idea what I’m talking about, just “ooh” and “aah” because my pictures don’t have a horrid yellow tone. All I know is that I averted yet another crisis of terrible sushi pictures because of it.

Today could have been one of the best days I’ve had in a while. My mom let me pilfer her Costco card while she is on vacation — I came home with some goods.

Obviously this picture was taken before the white balance on my camera was changed. Doesn’t it make such a difference?

Whether or not you think so, just look at all those brussels sprouts — a whole 2 pounds just for me — spinach for some green monsters (another craving), and a ginormous tub of hummus. Life is good. Because let’s face it — a life without these three items = crisis.

I also picked up our wedding album (finally!!) today.

I’m. In. Love.

The picture on the left side above is getting made into a canvas for our home — it is my absolute favorite picture from the wedding. Weeping willows make me happy (ironic, no?).

I love Janae — she is a hardcore marathoner who is going to run a sub 3:00 marathon in Boston this spring. Go give her some encouragement and support! She is absolutely amazing, and I love her to death! She is always thinking of others before herself and is full of energy and spunk. Email me Janae, and I will get your package out to you!

I think I feel a dark chocolate craving coming on. I need to go take care of it before it becomes an issue a crisis.

Question: What’s a crisis you averted today? OR How do you feel about sushi?
