I must say – the Husband and I know how to have a good time. Last night’s wedding was a blast, and even though we might be slightly embarrassing with our not-so-stellar dance moves, I’m pretty sure I didn’t even need to work out yesterday morning.
I would show you more pictures, but things got a little hairy for the Husband after this point. I’ll use those for blackmail later.
In other news, many of you may be familiar with Susan from The Great Balancing Act. Susan was diagnosed with cancer (still not sure what form of lymphoma it is) last month and has been in the hospital since. Even though she has endured many tests and surgeries already, Susan’s outlook and love of life have not changed at all. It absolutely inspiring to read about.
Cancer patients have a soft spot in my heart, as my dad has been battling Chronic Leukemia on and off for the last 6 years. While it is what he considers to be “baby cancer”, it is still cancer nonetheless and it can shake a person to the core.
Because Susan had just started a new job before all of this came about, her insurance probably will not be covering much of her hospital visits and chemotherapy drugs she will need. No cancer patient or family of a cancer patient should have to worry about paying medical bills when they should be concerned about becoming healthy and in remission.
With all of this in mind, Janetha has rallied the blogging community together to help raise money for Susan’s medical bills. Over one hundred bloggers and dozens of companies are donating items to be auctioned off in The Great Fundraising Act on Monday, July 25th. Every single penny made from this auction will go directly into Susan’s PayPal account to help offset medical bills.
Our goal? $10,000.
I think we can surpass that.
Personally, I am donating a $25 Trader Joe’s gift card and a batch of my Pumpkin Maple Quinoa Granola.
If YOU would like to participate somehow (you do NOT have to be a blogger either!), please contact Janetha. You can also just donate money if you do not want to participate in the auction. Or if you would like to show your support, please spread the word and add the Great Fundraising Act button to your blog.

I am for sure donating something. This is a cause that is very close to my heart after my grandpa passed away in 2005 from CLL. I know we will be able to surpass that goal….it is so important that we do.
This is a great idea, thanks for spreading the word Chelsey!
Wow, what a great idea!! will definitely pass this on
I am so thrilled to be a part of this blogging community for reasons just like this.
Great idea
Thank you for sharing this Chelsey. I will see if I can help in any way. Cancer is so close to my heart and sucks royally. Praying for Susan over and over.
This is such a wonderful idea. I’m definatly going to check it out, thanks for posting about it!
Awesome donation…I am participating too. We will all help Susan hopefully lick this cancer thing…or at least help her with some bills!

“alone we can do so little … ” ?
Wow, what a great cause. I’m on it!
I’ve never read her blog, but as a fellow blogger my heart really goes out to her and I feel like I need to help out. Thanks for spreading the word about this!
What an amazing cause. My mother had Hodgkin’s lymphoma and it was a long, grueling battle that I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. She’s doing great now and is in remission still years later, thanks in no small part to her dedicated doctors at Dana Farber. Everyone battling cancer deserves world-class care. This is definitely something I can get behind!
All I can say is THANK YOU!!!! Seriously, this fundraiser means so much to me. I’m dealing with something very real and very serious, and having the financial burden of it lifted off my shoulders frees me to focus on just getting better. And that’s all because of YOU and our fellow, amazing, bloggers xoxoxo
What a great idea! So nice to see the bloggie world pulling together in aid of such a great cause!
ps - Love your dress! You and the Hus both look fabulous
Sorry to hear about your dad’s battle with leukemia. My fiance’s uncle has also been battling it off and on for years. I think fundraising through blogging is an awesome thing.
Is that a new haircut? Your hair looks great in that picture!
How horrible that she should have to worry about money at a time like this - but what a brilliant thing to be raising it! I’ll get over there now, thank you for sharing it
I’m passing this along! This really is a great idea. I will definitely be participating in the auction.
Thank you for mentioning this fundraiser. I just contacted Janetha about participating in the bake sale and I am posting about the fundraiser on the blog tonight. What a great cause!

You made some decent points there. I looked on the internet for the issue and found most individuals will go along with with your website.
