I didn’t know I was scheduled to run a marathon this weekend.
It kind of took me by surprise. However, I bit the bullet and just went with it!
I hadn’t really trained all that much, so you can only imagine how exhausted I really am.
Okay, in reality, I’m not “really” running a marathon this weekend, but I sure feel like I have!
After getting back from New York on Thursday, I feel like my schedule has been “go go go go go!!”. To say I am about ready to collapse is an understatement.
Let’s take a look, shall we?
Thursday: Arrive home from New York. Notice Husband went to work so my requested groceries were not home yet. Understandingly go to the grocery store. Make myself lunch. Start unpacking. Change sheets. Play with Charlie. Run errands — including exchanging my new shorts which I got a hole in. Garden. Laundry. Make dinner. Blog. Relax for approximately 15 minutes before my eyelids started to close.
Friday: Run. Tutor. More laundry. Make favors for my sister’s baby shower. Volunteer at the Vegan Cafe. Meet Mom at Costco for baby shower food. Dinner with Mom. Trader Joe’s with Mom. Decorate my aunt’s basement (with help from my aunt and mom) for said sister’s baby shower. Go home. Relax for about 30 minutes before I wanted to pass out.
Saturday: Blog. Breakfast. Work out. Get nails done. Shower. Blog meet up at Seasons 52 (post to come!). Baby birthday party for the Husband’s cousin. Home. Dinner. Play with Charlie. Schedule blog posts. Blog. Put laundry away. Start packing (!?!?!?).
(in anticipation of….)
Sunday: Blog. Breakfast. Last minute errands for sister’s baby shower. Set up for sister’s baby shower. Clean house (kind of). Finish packing (!??!?!!). Set my alarm for 3:00 AM (again?).
As you can see, it’s been quite a busy weekend around here. The funny thing is, I thrive in situations where I am extremely busy and have not a second to spare. When I have “too” much time on my hands, I never seem to get through my to do list even though I have all the time in the world. Procrastination always occurs when I feel like I have plenty of time to accomplish tasks.
I don’t tend to get stressed out either (on the outside). I have always had others comment on how “calm and put together” I look in times of stressful situations. To me, it’s not stressful — it’s just life! Sometimes life is busy, sometimes life is boring and slow. It’s just the way the cookie crumbles.
I bet right now you’re wondering where in the world CEC is off to next. Guess you’ll have to wait to find out!
Question: Do you thrive in busy situations?
