All the time…except it usually goes, “Wow! Would you look at that I ate nothing but carbs…”

I’m with Yolie!

Your lucky you can say it was veggies Chelsey! :)

On another note, I have to check that zucchini bread crumbless. I just made Zucchini muffins with added protein powder and used only a little bit of coconut oil, but love recipes with zucchini and less oil if possible :)

I need to start doing WIAW so I can see my meals. I think looking at it all laid out like that would be kinda fun?? Is that weird? You meals look good…heavy veggie and all. :)

Yes! Yesterday mine was dairy heavy with yogurt in the morning, a small cup of ice cream (I couldn’t resist!) in the afternoon, and forzen yogurt after my evening softball game.

My husband and I keep each other accountable for our healthy habits by sharing what we ate each day (breakfast, lunch, snacks at work). It also helps me look back on my day and see if I got enough fruits, veggies and protein in during they day. I do great at getting in fruits and veggies but struggle with protein. He is great at drinking protein shakes but does not eat enough fruits and veggies. I am never lacking on the carb department. With my current half marathon training schedule, I need those extra calories!

I have a weird little obsession with Sweet Tomatoes. A salad bar will get me every time! :)

I have times like that where I look back and think “that wasn’t very balanced” all the time. Although I’m usually eating too much oatmeal or something. LOL

Jenn L @ Peas and Crayons August 3, 2011 at 8:55 am

Are those crunchy green bean chips!? myyy fav! <3 Happy WIAW gorgeous!

Isn't it crazy to look back on the day and spot out a zany pattern. sometimes I realize all I ate was veggies, other days all the food will be the same two colors… and sometimes I hit the jackpot with a baller balanced day — though I never know til I reflect with my WIAW photos ;) <3

Ahhh….small midwestern towns. Not known for their food, are they? I can say that because I live in one. :D

I used to go to Sweet Tomato all the time. I haven’t been there in forever, and definitely need to go soon :-) Many times on the weekends I look back and realize I had too many sweets!

I always notice particulars about my meals when I do WIAW! For example, this week…I didn’t have one breakfast picture! How did my breakfasts escape me this week!?

Does your belly ever hurt after eating 2 plates of veggies like that? Everytime I do I am bloated and in pain!

Reply

Usually yes - last night I felt okay!

cleaneatingchelsey August 3, 2011 at 11:57 am

1 scoop Sunwarrior, 1 flax egg, a pinch of baking soda, cinnamon, some vanilla, and about 2 tbsp unsweetened applesauce. All in the microwave for about 3 minutes!

I definitely have days that aren’t balanced but all your eats look amazing. Love the breakfast!

Reply

Sarah August 3, 2011 at 11:47 am

yes! Except I feel like most of my eats end up being full of carbs. Oatmeal and bread.. all the way :)

Reply

Jackie @ That Deep Breath August 3, 2011 at 11:50 am

Usually it’s “wow…I sure like carbs”

Reply

Laura @ Cookies vs. Carrots August 3, 2011 at 12:16 pm

Wow, that is a ton of veggies, but that’s a lot better than the alternatives, haha.

Amanda @ .running with spoons. August 3, 2011 at 12:44 pm

Deeee-lish eats, girl :D I look back at my eats and notice certain themes for sure. Some days it’s all about the chocolate and almond butter. Other days, it’s all about the fruits and veggies. I don’t really pay attention to balancing things day by day, because it all works itself out in the long run anyways :D

Reply

Jess August 3, 2011 at 1:44 pm

I loveeee jazz apples-they have the best flavor in my opinion :D
i definitely have un-balanced days..but too many veggies is not always a bad thing ;)

Reply

Rachel @ My Naturally Frugal Family August 3, 2011 at 2:15 pm

Is there such a thing as TOO many veggies???? I guess it depends on your point of view :)
Your day looks like it was very delicious.

Reply

Ann Claire August 3, 2011 at 2:48 pm

After writing up today’s WIAW on my blog, I realized “wow, I hardly ate any vegetables.” We balance each other out :)

I ALWAYS do that. Sometimes it’s pretty embarrassing haha. Those green beans look awesome!

Reply

Rebecca August 3, 2011 at 5:35 pm

I’ll sometimes look back on a day and realize I focused more on one food group than another. Often for me its the fruit group.

Darian August 3, 2011 at 5:40 pm

I have a weird thing about the color of my food. If I look back through my day and don’t see a rainbow of color I feel very unsettled. P.S. I have been reading your blog for maybe 2 months now and have been meaning to tell you that I LOVE it. Your writing style is great and your content is super entertaining. Thanks :)

Yes I do look back over a day and see how unbalanced mine is….and usually, its not veggie heavy, but processed food/carbie heavy! I’m working on that! I do try to choose lots of different colors….your new blog design looks great!

Reply

Krissy August 3, 2011 at 7:41 pm

Yummy eats!! Starbucks is defintely the most important part of my day too girlie :) I definitely have days where I look back and think “wow - too many carbs and too much chocolate” lol But in the end it all balances out :) xoxo

Liz @ iheartvegetables August 3, 2011 at 10:12 pm

YES! I think that every time I go home to visit my family. They’re not really veggie eaters (Although I’m convincing my mom!) so it’s hard to get in the normal amount of veggies that I typically eat!

Katie August 4, 2011 at 12:06 am

Mmmm that first bowl of oatmeal is the best looking thing ever. And I LOVE your new updated page!! Beautiful new picture of you, too. ;-)

Kate August 4, 2011 at 5:50 am

LOL yeah my eats can lean a little towards the too- much-fruit side of things sometimes! Your veggies look so pretty though! What’s the Sunwarrior Protein Muffin? did you bake that or is it something I can buy?

love your blog btw! :)

I ADORE Sweet Tomatoes!! I can’t wait until I live close to one again :) I used to load up my salad plate (like a kid in a candy store) and then I’d do the same with the soft serve… mmmmm
