25 things you don’t know about me

August 6, 2011

Have you ever picked up a trashy celeb magazine? Don’t even lie, you know you have. Me, on the other hand, I read them when I go to my mom’s because she enjoys spending money on them every week. I like the news without the hefty price tag of buying four different magazines each week.

I don’t know what magazine it is, but one of them always has a celebrity with “25 things” you don’t know about them. While I am no celebrity, I thought it would be fun to do.

Oh, and if you already knew some of this, just pretend like you didn’t.

  1. My favorite color is purple, despite the fact many other think my favorite color is pink.
  2. I lose/break sunglasses like it is my job, so I only buy ones that are less than $15.
  3. When I was younger, my mom would not let me cut my hair short until I was in middle school.
  4. Speaking of being younger, I was not allowed to watch TV during the school week until I was in high school.
  5. I’m not a cute pajamas kind of girl — I wear comfy shorts/sweatpants and a t-shirt.
  6. I throw everything away. I hate clutter.
  7. I can’t sleep when I am hot, but I also can’t sleep with the fan on — the wind drives me crazy.
  8. I could eat a sweet potato every day and be happy.
  9. I will wake up early, but only with the promise of a nap later in the day.
  10. My mom was the first mom to have Facebook — and thus she remained on my “limited profile” list for about two years. Sorry Mom.
  11. I like quiet in the morning — if things are loud too quickly, I freak out.
  12. I love the beach, but hate the sand.
  13. I never want to go camping… ever.
  14. I make the bed every morning. It makes the room look put together.
  15. I don’t really read magazines, I skim them.
  16. I used to chew on my straws when I was younger.
  17. I am in bed every night by 9:30 — party animal.
  18. I am a Target girl — I can’t leave that store without spending at least $50.
  19. The thing I miss the most about going GF is chewy French bread made with white flour. It can’t be beat.
  20. I once dropped my cell phone down a 7 story trash chute. That was fun.

Annndddd.. there’s only going to be 20 because this is really hard to do!

Question: Tell me 1 thing I don’t know about you (or more!!).

i’m in total agreement about the sweet potato thing, i don’t get why i’m so pale as opposed to being an oompa loompa

most people don’t know that i wear a retainer at night several times a week, it’s green and purple with sparkles. i have super stylish mouth gear

Wow! I feel like you are my long lost twin. I agree on almost every fact?

Something about me?

I have never actually eaten or tried mushrooms because the way they look gross me out.

I skim magazines too! And I never want to go camping- that just sounds like pure misery. Something you don’t know about me- I have a really hard time staying up late. A lot of my friends in college got mad at me because I found it hard to go out partying with them. I just get miserable and cranky staying up super late.

MY FAKE RAY-BANS JUST BROKE!!!! I was so pissed. Good thing I got them for ten bucks in NYC.

We are pajama twins, I think if I got cute pajamas I would make them not as cute by being the sea monster I am when I wake up in the morning.

Slash last night Padre turned off the A/C and it was 78 in hurr..I wanted to kill everyone so I turned it down when he fell asleep. Much betta.

So long story short, if our men want to go camping, we can have a girls’ night at the spa…kaycool.

Fun fact: I ate cookies for dinner last night. Oh and I was once told “I Love You” by an old elementary school classmate over instant messaging. Those were the days.

My mom would never let me cut my hair either!! I had long hair until I was in high school before I finally cut it short! I’ve also never dyed my hair….mom liked the color it was when I was younger so she’d never let me do it! Now I’m just not brave enough to dye it!

Interesting. And yes… magazines are not made for reading. If they were, the pictures wouldn’t be so darn pretty. One thing about me… hmmm… I like rainy days (just so long as there aren’t tooooo many tooooo close together.)

I love purple, hate clutter, and neeeeed quiet mornings. And I’m totally with you on the sand thing Drives. me. crazy. A random thing about me? I’ve never owned a microwave, and the concept of nuking food skeeves me out. My new place has one built-in, so I have no idea what I’m gonna do about that… use it as extra storage space, I guess.

I cant believe youre in bed by 930 every night, I always shoot for 11 that rarely happens!

So many things in common. I can’t sleep hot AND have to sleep with the covers on AND hate the fan. This might be why I don’t sleep….

Camping to me is if a fly gets in the house by accident.

Something fun about me: I was born with red hair and am still made it turned blonde. No one messes with beautiful red hair but I’m sure I will be highlighting and highlighting for the rest of my life

amizzennnnn to #11. I actually make it a point to wake up extra early in the morning before the rest of my fam so I can enjoy a little peace & quiet before the chaos ensues.

Oh! and I’ve been “camping” once (aka, tried to sleep in a tent in my backyard) and peaced out after 40 minutes.. okay, maybe it was 10 minutes.

We agree on so many things. I’m not really all that surprised, however. My mom had some weird rules too. I wasn’t allowed to eat cereal that had sugar as the first of second ingredient and I wasn’t allowed to watch Gumby? My mom still doesn’t remember when that wasn’t allowed.

Reply

cleaneatingchelsey August 6, 2011 at 11:19 am

We weren’t allowed to watch Rugrats until I was like 9.

Love this post!! In agreement on most everything you said, especially the fact that Target is just about the best store ever! The shoes, the accessories, the home good, the STARBUCKS! It’s a money pit.

I have a piece of pencil lead stuck on the inside of my wedding ring finger. 2nd grade mishap. I can move it around and everything. Kinda cool and kinda gross.

You only really need to read one of those magazines every week because they all pretty much say the same thing.

The Target thing is pretty funny. My parents and I always joke how it’s impossible for us to go there without spending $50.

Liz @ Something To Chew On August 6, 2011 at 11:53 am

Ditto with the sleeping vs. hot vs. fan. Especially this time of year - can’t handle it!

I have a scar on my knee from the FIRST DAY I ever went to summer camp. Its disgusting looking…but I secretly have a strange love for it. I was 9 - and went to camp for a loooong time after that, and even became a counsellor until I was 19! I think I must have learned not to be afraid after that incident ;)

I, too, have ZERO interest in ever going camping. I don’t think you could pay me enough to go. Same with cruises - zero interest. No woods, no cabins, no moving ships.

I hate clutter, but can’t seem to prevent it from happening.
I’m extremely annoying in the early early morning. Anytime we have to wake up super early (like before 5 AM) for vacation or a long drive, I’m REALLY giggly. I just can’t stop laughing. Drives my husband crazy. :)

A random fact most people don’t know about me? I wore an orthopedic back brace for almost 5 years. I discreetly hid it under my clothes so no one could make fun of me in elementary and middle school!

I’m with you on hating sand. Growing up in Washington, all the beaches I went to were rocky, and that’s what I’m used to. Rocks don’t get in certain areas like sand does.
I also miss fluffy French bread, but I miss fluffy sourdough the most. I can’t find a gluten free recipe that replicates the texture.

I secretly love when I get to bed at 9:30! It never happened in college because all my friends made fun of me for going to bed at 11:30 haha, but now I can finally turn in early….and I totally also never watched TV till high school (so consequently I never really watch it now!), also prefer quiet mornings, hate sand, love sweet potatoes, and can’t resist Target temptations! :)

Most people don’t know about me that I actually have a lot of trouble sitting through a full-length movie! I can totally commit to a one-hour tv show and that’s about it. And I’d rather watch a movie at home than go to the theater- that way I can pause it and take breaks and make tea and snacks and multitask (do my nails etc) while watching!
