who does she look like?

September 17, 2011

Because really — who doesn’t love looking at a newborn baby?

September 17, 2011 018
This afternoon, my mom, dad and I went up to the hospital to see Kirstin and Aubrey — both of whom are in the hospital until tomorrow morning. Aubrey was much more sleepy than she was yesterday, and we only got to peek at her beautiful baby blues for a couple of minutes during the three hour visit.

September 17, 2011 024

Aubrey didn’t even get to get a good glimpse of her Auntie Kimee (my bestie)! She was too busy resting up and recovering from her grand entrance yesterday.

We spent a lot of time talking about her different features and who she got them from. The general consensus is that she looks exactly like my brother Matthew’s newborn photo. This is what we came up with:

Mouth: her mama
Nose: we couldn’t agree — I think it looks like mine (???), Kirstin think it looks like hers
Chin: her mama’s
Ears: one of her ears is constantly folding over just like my little brother’s did when he was born. It’s so funny!
Eyes: A dark blue right now — I think they resemble my nephew’s (and my brother’s)
Eyebrows: her mama’s, mine, and my mom’s!
Hairline: her mama
Hair color: not quite sure
Feet: we can’t figure this one out! My nephew thinks they “look like Uncle Johnny’s (the Husband), but that is pretty much impossible.

Let’s face it — the baby girl got all the good features! She’s a beaut!

During our visit, my sister finally had a few moments to herself to take a shower, dry her hair, and put on some makeup. She felt like a new person! And Aubrey graced us with a few minutes of awake time — only because she wanted to eat.

September 17, 2011 027

Seeing as my sister has only had about a total three hours of sleep since Thursday night, we left around 6 so she could get some shut eye before her husband returned. Luckily, Aubrey was on the same page.

September 17, 2011 019

I can’t wait to see how this little one changes over the next few weeks — I’m sure it will be like seeing a different baby each day!

Question: Who did you get your features from?

Awe, she’s so sweet!!! Gosh, it seriously feels like yesterday that I was in the hospital holding Carter in my arms. And now he is 3 1/2!! It’s crazy how fast they grow!

Carter is definitely a mix of my hubby and I. He has my coloring, my eyes, and my nose, but my hubby’s chin and mouth. I’m also a mix of my parents. Sometimes I look just like my Mom, but other times I see my Dad. :)

She’s beautiful! And I can’t believe your sis put on makeup a day after giving birth..wow! I was too worried about nursing and lochia to be troubled with my eye liner :) Major props to her!!!

Aubrey is….gorgeous and will change so much and can’t wait to see her “grow up on the blog” !

I get my features from my dad’s side mostly.

She’s absolutely adorable! I look much more like my father than my mom but my brother is the exact opposite.

How cute is she?! Oh my goodness, congratulations auntie!

I think I get the majority of my features from my dad (my eyes, nose, and chin), but I LOVE that I got the red in my hair from my mama!

She looks like such a sweetie!

I definitely take after my father’s side. His family is all Polish & Lithuania, while my mom’s family is mostly Italian. You would never know I have ANY Italian in me! I look as eastern-European as they come!

I think I look a little more like my dad than my mom, but it’s funny because everyone says my brothers and I look exactly alike, and I just don’t see it! And that is one beautiful little baby!!!!

Their faces change *so* much those first few weeks! …Isn’t it like falling in love all over again each day, Aunt Chelsey?! WONDERFUL!
….I have my dad’s nose, eyes, and jawline. Mom’s sensitive stomach, cheekbones, and eyebrows. A pretty even split of both of them!

Oh my that first photo is SOOO cute! Your sister looks great! I agree that she looks a lot like your sister! CONGRATS Aunt Chelsey!

My sister is due very soon, I can’t wait to meet my 4th nephew! I think look a little bit like both of my parents, maybe a little more like my Mom :-)

What a cutie! :) I got most of my features from my mom except for my freakishly long toes. I can thank my dad for those. lol.

Adorable! — I love newborn babies, esp their soft skin. ooh.
I think im 50/50 mom/dad, I get comments saying I look like both.

I think she looks a lot like you!

I look like a mix of my parents, and not strongly of either one, but from the legs down I look like my dad, and from the butt up I look like my mom. TMI? Maybe, haha.

She’s wonderful! When people see my mom and I (and they don’t know my dad) they’re like “Wow! You look so much alike!” But then when they meet my dad they say “Oh, wait. You look EXACTLY like him.” It’s quite strange :)

Michaela September 18, 2011 at 1:37 pm

aw, she is so cute!! congrats to all of you :)
I got more features from my mum, but I also resemble my dad in a lot of ways. Good mixture, I think (despite the legs, that I inherited from my mum´s side of the family… at least my legs are strong and healthy and carry me everywhere!).

I look just like my mom, except I got my dad’s fair skin. And I was bald for like the first 2 years of my life, and my dad’s bald… Hahahaha!

I look like a complete mix of my parents. no one can agree if I look more like one or the other. :)

What a gorgeous little girl!! It’s so exciting that you get to spoil her (without being up haf the night with her). Everyone used to say I looked like my dad, probably because our coloring was the same. Now my hair is darker and I look just like mom. Which I love, my mom is gorgeous! Still have my dad’s green eyes though, and I wouldn’t trade em.

Awww so cute! I definitely am 100% my father; my older sister is a good mix of both parents. I do have my mom’s hair and skin though. But for sure I am the spitting image of my dad, which I am very proud of :) .

Lovely baby!
