1. I went to the store after school today for two things, one of which someone I know would gag at – broccoli and hummus. Apparently I can’t go one day without those two items because I may or may not have been having heart palpitations thinking about doing without (kidding. kind of…).
2. The Husband lost his phone.. again. I don’t know what that boy does with his electronics, but his phone has been found in many weird places. The fridge. His lunchbox. Underneath the couch. In the couch cushions. In drawers – you name it, it’s probably been there. I’m surprised he hasn’t lost me yet.
3. I went for a long run after school today. Believe it or not, I am one of those crazy people who would rather get it out of the way and enjoy the rest of her weekend with it done. Now, I can enjoy hot yoga tomorrow without the dread of having to complete 8 miles sometime soon.

This is my “I’m a loser for running on a Friday night” look.
4. Did I mention I actually like long runs? mainly because I kind of enjoy that “my body is really sore because I pushed it” kind of feeling. See? Crazy-sauce.
5. I can’t decide whether Charlie is a good running partner or not. He ran the first 3.5 miles with me, and then I dropped him off at home. I only almost tripped over him about five times, and he only pooped in the street (shoot!) once. Did I mention I forgot a plastic bag at home? I swear someone is going to come and find me for that one. Whoops.
6. I don’t understand how people go out on Friday nights. I really don’t get it. I mean, you work all week. You get home on Friday and you’re exhausted. Then, you go out for all hours of the night? Um, thanks but no thanks. I’d rather sit my butt down on the couch and eat trail mix for three hours thankyouverymuch.
7. I’m getting really upset at the sudden darkening around 6:00 in the evening again. I’m sorry, but three weeks ago it was light outside until like 9:00. I don’t know how people could live in Alaska where it’s really never light outside for very long. I would be lost and depressed.
8. I’m obsessed with reading about pregnant bloggers. More specifically: her, her, her, her, and her.
9. My house is disgusting. Like, seriously gross. I have been avoiding really cleaning it for the last two weeks, and I don’t think I can take it anymore. Tomorrow is the big day. ::sigh::

Assuming the after school run went well? Silas is a terrible running partner- 15-20 minutes and he’s finished. And he poops on the curb (sometimes “hides” it in leaves). We’re “going out” tonight- to a chocolate cafe. I’m usually a turd and I go to bed at like 10, but since there’s chocolate involved, I figured I can extend my bedtime a bit!
YESSSSSSSSSSS First commenter
bahaha love you!
Sorry bout the gross house…lol
But good for you for running (not cleaning!) and getting that outta the way.
And I get heart palps (in a good way) when I think about a new, fresh, crispy bag of TJ’s sugar snap peas. So I can relate to your broccoli comment!
It’s really not gross - just gross by my standards. I’m quite anal and a neat freak.
I’m with you on the Friday night thing. I’m currently in my pajamas and waiting for Jon to get home so we can watch Parenthood on the DVR. One or both of us will probably fall asleep on the couch. There’s no way I can go out and be anything but exhausted on a Friday!
I totally agree with your Friday night theory! All I wanna do when 5 o’clock hits is land my booty on the couch and pray my husband wants to cook.
Oh, and I’m totally obsessed with reading about preggo bloggers too.
I’m with you on the Friday night thing! I don’t even have the urge to get up and make something for supper. lol. I am beat!
I hear ya about the going out on Friday night thing! I had class today and now everyone wants to go out tonight…but I’m exhausted after a week of classes and studying haha. I’m a lame-o
I don’t blame you!
Prego bloggers are just interesting! No shame
#6 is definitely one I agree with
and I’m a college student.. apparently i’m supposed to like going out every night. whatever.
I love getting the long run out of the way before the weekend! Good for you, Chelsey!!
I did that this morning and now I’m beat. Am I cool if I go to bed at 9 p.m. on a Friday night?
You’re cool in my book!
I’m totally with you on the “how can people go out on Friday night” thing…except, I’d also include Saturday in that…well, heck, really any day of the week. I like my pj’s too much!
Good for you gettin’ your run on! I wanted a relaxing evening at home, but now that I’m home, I kind of wish I had made plans to go out. Funny how that works, isn’t it? Oh well, it’s for the best since I have to get up crazy early tomorrow.
Have a great weekend!
Happy Friday! I’m right with you on the whole staying in Friday night thing. Right now I’m sitting on my couch, drinking Crispin and catching up on blogs and TV from the week. I’m loving life!
Fridays are a total no go for me too. When Justin tells me about something going on a Friday.. I reiterate the word Friday.. and he gets the point. He can go solo.. or stay home with me. I have plans with the couch!
haha yesss! I’m so glad I’m not the only one!
Kudos to you for running so long on a Friday night! My the time Friday evening rolls around, I am beyond spent I can barely muster up enough energy to make dinner.
Have a great weekend darling!
I like doing long runs during the week too instead of on the weekend. It seems like less pressure doing it after classes instead of planning my whole Saturday around a run.
Oh my gosh no crazy Fridays here. Cory and I went to Whole Foods and Costco tonight and bought a $5 pizza from the pizza shop up the street. I’m predicting a bedtime of 10:15.
Um, it was 10:00. haha!
Hmmmm…never thought about it that way. Getting a long run out of the way is appealing. I got my grocery shopping out of the way at least!
And go figure I picked up some roasted pine nut hummus too.
Yeah, go figure we did something else the same. haha!
I don’t mind grocery shopping, so I will gladly do that on Saturdays!
Gah, I wish I was one of those people that had the energy/motivation to go for a long run after a full day of work. Good work, sister. Although I guess having to go to work after a long run might be just as tough. Not looking forward to that tomorrow.
#3 for sure! I totally banged out my 14-mile long run after school today too. No worries for the rest of the weekend!
My butt is on my bed, I’m reading blogs, and I just ate a big coconut yogurt mess bowl. My idea of a solid Friday night. And getting dark…oh I’m so sad!
Veggies and hummus, nothing is better! Glad I found your blog, looking forward to reading it in the future!
I do not understand the going out on Friday thing ever. I have not understood it ever since I started working. Saturday - YES - you’ve had a long night’s sleep and a whole day to recharge. Friday night? As if. I feel like a grandma on Friday nights. A whole week of getting up to an alarm clock has caught up to me and I am pooped. So glad I am not alone.
Aw boo, some of your links aren’t working (for the pregnant bloggers). And I can’t go out on Friday nights either…unless it’s for dinner and that’s it haha. Too pregnant, old and tired now!
oh no! I’ll have to go and check them!
i would extend that same logic about going out on a friday night to crazy people who go for a run on a friday night… after you just worked all week!! haha. mainly i’m just jealous because this afternoon all i accomplished was baking and eating (way too much!) carrot cake.
I understand about the house cleaning. Some things have to be pushed to the back burner and house cleaning manages to find its way there faster than other things do.
The early darkness is bumming me out too!
I am totally with you on the Friday night thing…. I don’t get it either. I’m beyond tired and socializing never sounds like a good plan. It’s 7PM and we’re watching last nights Grey’s Anatomy because we couldn’t stay up to watch it last night. #solame (but I love it!)
Hey, I’ve run on a Friday night too. And tonight I’m blogging on a Friday night. So cool.
We just got back from seeing Transformers at the $3 movie theater. That’s the most “going out” I’ve done on a Friday night in years. woohoo!
Fear not! I too share your sentiment for broccoli and hummus. Especially Sabra. Holy yum. Godspeed on your cleaning, Chelsea! Put on your favorite music…that will help ease the daunting task. (:
Stay lovely,
Heather
I’m 23 and I love Friday nights in …how cool does that make me hahah!
I know! ….I swear, they handed me a diploma and stated “your bedtime is now 9:30… at the latest. Enjoy adulthood.”
Congrats on the 8-miler - that’s awesome! The longest run I’ve ever done to date is 5 miles so a bit less impressive. But, after Cross Country season I’m thinking about training for a half marathon. Love LSD!
LSD as in Long Slow Distance…not the drug!
I love my Friday nights in too! Last night I was so exhausted from my busy week + my workout so I spent it at home watching America’s Next Top Model with my roomie. And I fell asleep on the couch at 9:30.
going out on a friday IS hard! My boyfriend and I actually go out quite a bit (he is a dj) but even we stay home on the couch a lot on fridays. He does construction so hes PRETTY tired come friday. I WISH I got my run over yesterday so I wouldn’t be going now before work!
Have a good weekend!
I’m so glad I’m not the only one who can’t handle going out on Friday nights! I’d probably fall asleep with a drink in my hand if I tried!
I subbed all week and 3rd graders on Friday. I was so tired, we went out for Mexican food but barely made it to 10pm. (Husband is a high school teacher) being on our feet all day tires us out!
I would never be able to do a long run on a Friday night. After a week of work, I can do about an hour of exercise, then it’s off to Happy Hour or dinner… Not that I go crazy on Fridays, at all, but we’re usually out until about 9 PM. I’m hoping to be one of those preggo bloggers soon, so I’m def going to check those out!
It was only an hour and 15 minutes! Not much longer than an hour!
Friday morning is always my long run day! I consider it weekend prep.
We avoid going out Fridays not because I’m tired, but because I hate the crowds!
“I don’t understand how people go out on Friday nights”- yesss!!! This is me. Home on a Friday night with my bum on the couch.
I <3 sabra pine nut hummus!!! Broccoli + hummus together are even better if you blanch the broccoli first. It's still crisp but it gets very bright and the flavor of the broccoli gets brought out.
I wish I could go running after 10 AM!!! It's still summer weather here (high of 100 today, why do I live in Texas????) and I also love reading about pregnant bloggers. They're so happy!!!
The dark evenings are making me really sad too - like I hate the thoght of going to work in the dark and coming home in the dark. Not at all cool!
