3 truths, 1 lie

November 17, 2011

1. When I was younger, I used to think that being left handed was the coolest thing in the world. In fact, I may or may not still believe it’s the coolest thing in the world. Except for the whole “let’s get pencil lead all over your hand when you write and erase your own writing when using a white board” thing. I had a shirt that said “I may be left handed, but I am always right.” I should have kept that shirt and worn it every single day for the Husband. TRUTH

2. My first dog Duffy ate everything. E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G. He ate my underwear. He ate my socks. He ate my barbie shoes. He once ate a silk scarf that tied pajamas together (that was interesting). Eventually he killed himself by eating too many socks. RIP Duffy. TRUTH

3. I decided I’m going to start branching out when it comes to breakfast. A girl can only eat oatmeal every single day for five years without breaking. Remember those bagels? Tomorrow’s breakfast shall be lovely. LIE

4. I have this weird obsession with being on the right hand side of everyone. I can’t concentrate if I’m sitting on the left hand side. TRUTH

Question: Which one is the lie?

I know #1 isn’t a lie, because I’m also left-handed…and I hate all the ink and lead I get on my fingers! I’m going to go with #3. Oatmeal is the bee’s knees ;)

3?!

Alyssa @ Don't Look Down November 17, 2011 at 5:10 pm

I’m guessing number 2! Because that is too sad to be true.
And I’m left-handed too and I hate that whole lead all over my hand thing. Fun fact: In 5th grade I made my mom buy me notebooks without spirals because it was uncomfortable to write with that stupid spiral on my hand.

Number 2 - it’s a LIE! At least I hope it is - how terrible if a dog actually died from eating too many socks. :(

I think the lie is that you’re going to start branching out for breakfast. Why mess with a good thing? ha ha! Love the left-handed comments. I’m left-handed and really want one of those shirts (and the side of my hand is always inky, etc.)

I’m praying number 2 is the lie, but I would also think number3.
I have this weird thing where I have to walk on a certain side of my sister. I have to walk on her right side since I kinda walk to the right more and she walks to the left more. This way we won’t bump into each other.

I have no idea… Maybe #4? I always thought that being left handed was the coolest thing too! They always had the cool traits when being explained as right brained or left brained- artistic and creative. Darn them! ;)

I really hope your dog dying from eating too many socks is the lie…because that would be awful! But also because I’m not sure how that would work, anatomically… :S

My guess is #3 is a lie!!!!

Rebecca November 17, 2011 at 6:40 pm

It better not be #1 because being left-handed is absolutely the best thing in the world. Please don’t rain on my (self-centered) special-ness :) So…I’m going with #2, mostly because I laughed @ it and then felt horrible for doing so!

PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE say that 2 is the lie! That is SO SAD.
If 2 is not the lie, I would go with 3.

It’s just gotta be the dog one. I can see the other one’s being truths.
And p.s. I’m the same way with the last one. ESPECIALLY when I’m running with someone.

I’m calling you out on number 3…not because I doubt that you will branch out because if the pancakes you whip up on Saturday mornings are anything to go by, you have not been having oatmeal every morning for the past 5 years…wow that sounds super stalkerish how well I know your eats haha :D

Reply

Denise November 18, 2011 at 3:40 am

I’ll guess #3- since I am also left handed and it is an goffy issue that rules our lives!
I eat oatmeal every morning- why not!

Erica @ For the Sake of Cake November 18, 2011 at 6:18 am

Hmmm… #3?! I’ve heard of people having to put their dogs through surgery after they ate socks, so I imagine they can only eat so much before their little tummys can’t take anymore!

Kaitlyn@TheTieDyeFiles November 18, 2011 at 9:10 am

I’m thinking you sounded way too nonchalant about your dog dying a sock-related death for that to be true!

Alyssa @ Life of bLyss November 18, 2011 at 11:21 am

I’m hoping #2 is a lie. poor pup.

#2, the one about the dog has to be a lie. It just has to be.

Reply

Ty November 18, 2011 at 12:52 pm

I also am left handed. Know what’s NOT awesome about being left handed?

I read that left handed people die 9 years before right handed people on average.

I have no idea how that works. I can’t imagine a life or death situation in which right handedness is necessary.

Maybe there’s a curse.

I hope #2 is a lie cuz that’s just sad.

cleaneatingchelsey November 19, 2011 at 6:38 pm

I don’t believe it.

Jen November 18, 2011 at 4:05 pm

Originally I was thinking #3 - because we all know that you’d never change up your breakfast….BUT, the more I thought about #2, the more ‘off’ it sounded.

I mean - would a dog die from eating too many socks? Or would the correct cause of death be choking on a sock? I mean, how many socks is too many? What could make a Vet actually determine thats what happened?
