fun facts friday

December 16, 2011

Have you entered my Chobani giveaway yet? Enter now!

1. This week by far felt like one of the busiest weeks of 2011. Every night has been filled with some activity or family party, which of course, explains the sporadic posting. There’s no way I could even stop to fuel myself with more than mint chocolate mocha cookies let alone come up with coherent blog posts for you to read.

2. I’m using words too big for my spelling repertoire. I just spelled “sporadic”, “coherent”, and “repertoire” wrong before I used spell check.

3. Only FOUR MORE DAYS UNTIL WINTER BREAK!!!!! Do you know what that means? It means next week is going to rock. Fifth grade the week we get out of school is one of the most fun weeks of the year. We do secret Santa where the kids get to give each other presents all week long. We wrap Christmas presents with our kindergarten partners for the family in need we adopt. We have our Christmas party, which is actually a brunch and a talent show. We watch The Polar Express. We have a holiday sing. Oh. My. Gosh. Get me to next week NOW!

4. The best way to eat dark chocolate is from a one pound bar from Trader Joe’s. It’s even better when you take an actual bite out of the bar. Not that I know or anything.

5.  Tomorrow is national Maple Syrup day! I think this is the best thing ever. I’m going to have to celebrate by dousing everything I eat in maple syrup, starting with pancakes in the morning.

6. The pants I wore today were ridiculously tight. I don’t know what’s been going on, but perhaps all of those cookies I have been eating are coming back to haunt me. Whatever the case may be, I brought another pair of pants – just in case, you know.. they ripped at some point today. #iwishiwerejoking

7. I would love to know how in the heck my house gets so filthy when I have barely been here all week. What. The. Heck.

8. I’m going to get my  nails done tomorrow for the first time in 20392039109 years. My cuticles are going to make me cry.

9. Today was a really good hair day. I think it had something to do with the fact that I spent more than 5 minutes blow drying it. Instead, I spent like 10. It’s a wonder what five extra minutes will do. #vanity

10. BodyRock TV or folding laundry? I have quite the dilemma right now.

11. Someone come run 12 miles with me tomorrow. Puh-lease.

12. Happy Friday!

Winter break can NOT come soon enough! But I too am excited for next week with my kiddos.

And I totally agree about the messy house-I’ve been sick and done nothing but sit on the couch and then move to the bed and yet our apartment just gathers more and more clutter! I’m not doing anything but pouring juice and using the remote control! HOW?!

I would suggest getting a Shellac manicure!! They are awesome and come in great colors!! The last one I had lasted 5 weeks! They are guaranteed for at least 14 days instead of the normal manicure is guaranteed for 2 days. They “bake” the polish on with UV light like you would have done when getting gel nails but it’s just the polish on your own nail. It’s not damaging at all to your nail bed and strengthens your natural nail if you have been blessed with weak ones. I hope you post pictures of what you end up getting done! :)

I have gotten shellac before! I actually have a groupon for one, so I’m not going to get one tomorrow. I really just want my nail beds to get cleaned up - they’re disgusting!

Today is the first day I wore jeans in over a week (and only b/c I had to) and let’s just say they were a bit tighter than usual. Too many cookies!

Just make sure…if your pants are tight and you’ve been feeling sick this week…you know what I might say! Don’t be hiding any secrets from us! :p

I hear you on the busy-ness factor of this time of year, but that’s actually one of the things I love best about it! And biting out of a 1-lb chocolate bar just brought in visuals that I now can’t get out of my head until I actually, successfully bite out of a 1-lb bar. Thanks for that :p.

I can’t help but think of Buddy the Elf when you talked about dousing everything in maple syrup! Ha! Love that movie!

Yeah for Christmas break! Mine starts today. . . as soon as I am done with all my grades!

cleaneatingchelsey December 17, 2011 at 6:37 am

Well, maple syrup IS its own food group you know!

I would actually love to go on your long run with you. But could you come to my neck of the world right now rather than yours? Mine is 85F and sunny. Yours is probably like 35 and snowing!

And spell check does a brain good. At least mine so I dont have to think too hard about my repertoire and if it’s coherent or not :)

BODYROCK! only takes like 10 minutes and you’ll feel so much better. AND, not have to bring an extra set of pants to school with you next week!

Oh gosh I miss fifth grade soooo much! I went to pick my much younger sister up from elementary school today and all the kids, even the safety patrollers, were so tiny. I was SO not that tiny. Like ever. Don’t feel bad about poor spelling, until embarrassingly recently I spelled “exercise” like “excercize” and “violet” like “vilot”. I’ll run 12 miles with you!!! Just get me a plane ticket please. :)

Reply

cleaneatingchelsey December 17, 2011 at 6:39 am

haha I love safety patrol. I remember being on it when I was in 5th grade, and now that my fifth graders are safety patrol people, I always think about what I was doing in 5th grade. I thought I was so old!

If it makes you feel any better, I just slipped on a pair of jeans as I got ready for work….and….they’re are a *tad* tight. (A “tad tight” meaning, “Pretty darn tight”) Gah. Thanks for reminding me we are all human, and i’m not the only one. lol

SO many responses to this! 1. I remember when we adopted a family in school, I loved that! We also had kindergarten buddies, but I only did secret Santa in 3rd grade. I got my first beanie baby. 2. I know exactly how my apartment got so messy: because I never left it except to take exams for 2 weeks and apparently had no time to clean… yet managed to watch the biggest loser on netflix. 3. you should have asked! I have a dr. apt in the morning! I just ran 8 tonight on the treadmill and learned that it resets after an hour… rude.

Awesome post and have fun with school next week, the last week before Christmas is always crazy! I can certainly imagine that eating dark chocolate like that would be good…right now I’m trying to clear out my refrigerator before going home so I’m limited to mostly greek yogurt, broccoli and mushrooms. Not ideal.

I can sadly relate to your extra pair of pants issue… I brought along a pair “just in case” on Friday but not so much because of tightness but because I actually did have a pair of jeans totally rip open on me about 2 months ago and am horrified it will happen again when I am at work so I figure better to be prepared :D !!
