I’m making this short and sweet today, folks. On Monday I felt like I was coming down with something, and yesterday by the end of the day my head was pounding and I felt like my head was going to explode. I’m sure it’s just some sort of cold (nothing that is taking away my appetite, thank GOD!), but today I am home sick and sleeping my life away.
So, let’s move forward with yesterday’s food — Happy Leap Day!
Breakfast — 6:00 AM
Not a gorgeous bowl of oats, but a good one! It was pumpkin banana oatmeal with some Sun Warrior protein powder mixed in. My toppings included cinnamon, coconut, raisins, and almond butter that the wonderful Katie sent to me last week. It’s ridiculously delicious.
On the side I had a cup of kombucha green tea.
Egg with nutritional yeast and ketchup for protein!
Lunch — 11:30 AM
Leftover brown rice pasta, homemade marinara, and frozen peas that were stirred in.
Yes, those are the same frozen peas I have used to ice my legs for the last six months. They still tasted perfectly fine. 😉
I also needed a little chocolate (and protein) fix, so I also ate an unpictured Luna chocolate protein bar.
Snack — 3:30 PM
I was heading to hot yoga (in hopes that it would make me feel detoxified and a little bit better), and on the way I ate some raisins and almonds.
Did I forget to mention that hot yoga was right next door to Whole Foods? Needless to say, I had to stop in.. and spend $50. Gaaaahhhh. I did save about $15 with coupons though. That made it worth it. Goodbye grocery budget.
I felt awesome and amazing during yoga, and then the second I sat in my car my head felt like it was going to explode again. I was not a happy camper.
Dinner — 6:30 PM
Dinner was pathetic. It was just something I needed ASAP when I got through the door because I was hungry. On nights like this, I always have a pretty large snack later on in the night. I microwaved a HUGE (seriously, huge.) sweet potato and ate some roasted vegetables I picked up from the Whole Foods hot bar. I dipped it all in about 1/4 cup hummus and a crap ton of ketchup (don’t judge).
Right after dinner, I sampled some new to me chocolate bars that were on sale.
Too many almonds and not enough sea salt in the bottom bar, but the crystallized ginger bar was absolutely fantastic. I’m going to enjoy eating that one!
Snack — not pictured
I’ve been having a bowl of oats for a nighttime snack as well this week. Nothing wrong with starting and ending the day with a bowl of oatmeal topped with almond butter!
A lot of people have asked me and/or wanted to see what I’m eating now that I’m not working out as hard. Truth be told, I probably should have eaten even MORE yesterday since I went to yoga.
And that’s a wrap — you can find me sleeping on my couch!
Question: What is your favorite kind of chocolate bar?
