1. Yesterday I had to get two cavities filled – not my idea of a fun day off if you ask me.
2. Have you ever eaten raw pumpkin seeds? I picked up a bunch of them from Whole Foods the other day because my TCM told me they naturally raise progesterone levels. I’ve had them roasted in trail mixes before, but never by themselves. They taste like bacon – I’m totally serious.
3. I have my monthly brunch date with Kathleen tomorrow! I’m so excited to get caught up with that gorgeous girl!
4. You know what really stinks? The hiccups. The ones that hurt. That’s all.
5. I have been eating out way too often lately. Last week I had Chipotle four times – FOUR!!! This week I’ve gone to Jason’s Deli, Whole Foods hot bar, the Vegan Cafe, and Jason’s Deli again. Aaaand I’m going out for breakfast tomorrow and for lunch on Sunday.
6. Speaking of eating out, I’ve obviously had no desire to cook or meal plan at home the past few weeks. Please give me some motivation – or just some meal ideas.
7. We have baby birdies living in our bird house outside. It’s on top of a tall post and Charlie keeps hearing the babies chirp. He is constantly trying to jump high enough or scratch his way up the post.
8. I bought all of my vegetables for my garden yesterday! Some vegetables I start from seeds but a lot of them I just buy as plants already from a nursery – it’s so much easier.
9. Sometimes I wish that I could teleport myself to my blogging friends’ houses – this week, in particular, Ashley’s house. She has been such an incredible friend lately and I just want to give her a big stinkin’ hug. UTTAAAAH, why are you so far?
10. Any other wives (i just typed wifes) out there not want to see The Avengers? My mom and I devised a plan for this. Since my dad and the Husband want to see it and my mom and I don’t, we’re going to go to a movie together, but apart. It will be great.
11. That’s all I’ve got for you today – Happy Friday!

Looks like you’ve had a delicious week(s) of eats! As much as I love eating out, I’m kinda over it for now- guess that’s what 2 weeks of traveling and non-stop eating out does to ya! I haven never been more excited to eat meals at home
. Have a wonderful weekend!
I have been eating out a lot lately too. It’s been kind of crazy. I’m actually getting to the point that I miss cooking more. Who, me?
I wouldn’t mind seeing the avengers…but mostly because of all the hype lol! What I really want to see is What to Expect When You’re Expecting!
Happy Friday!!! I think it must be part of the summer-itis and not wanting to cook;-) I rarely cook and now that its getting warmer out, I want to cook even less…good thing I am not in charge of feeding my husband and toddler supper….
Thanks for another link to a great blog! I am always trying to add to my list of healthy bloggers that do what is right for their body, especially if it means putting on a few lbs, exercising less, eating more, etc.
Have a great Friday Chelsey! Enjoy your weekend:-)
Happy Friday!
I have been eating out a ton too since traveling and my boys have been doing fast food while I was away! TODAY I am getting groceries and stopping that madness! Haha!
Happy day to you ! <3
I hope you treated yourself to some frozen yogurt or something after the dentist! Not a fun day off at all…..
Happiest Friday to you!!
I think the warmer weather is to blame for more eating out. That’s what I tell myself anyway! Happy happy Friday to you!
Ummm- I missed Grey’s last night and only caught the last few minutes= so confused! I need to catch up. I was surprised to not see that on your list this morning, I thought I was going to get the info today.
I’m not into cooking at all right now! AT ALL! I just want the food to magically appear….. HAPPY FRIDAY!
i cannot wait to see youuuuu!!!!
we have eaten out literally every night this week! not a good pattern to be falling into. oh well… have a lovely friday, love!
I do not want to see the Avengers - luckily my hubby already set up a man-date w/ his friend to see it.
I have a really good (quick and easy) meal idea for you!
-Fresh beets, cooked, peeled, sliced then marinated in 2t balsamic, 1/2 t dijon mustard, 2 T olive oil.
-yummy rolls (i think we used ciabatta), brush with some of the marinade or just olive oil and brown in oven (on broil)
-top hot rolls w/ the beets, then some goat cheese (i used the firm kind, not spreadable, but it would probably work too). pop back into the oven to melt
-make a sammie…add freshly sliced (very thin) red onion and fresh arugula
SO GOOD!
and if you don’t like beets i suggest you eat this anyway because it will change your mind
have a good weekend!
Happy Friday! Yay for the weekend!!!
At least your eating out places sound healthy! TGIF!
I saw the avengers and it was actually pretty good but I am a fan of the Ironman movies. If I had my way though I would have seen The 5 year engagement
Don’t worry, I eat Chipotle 4 times a week now, too. I work there. :] I hope I don’t get sick of it! At least its healthy (veggie salad with black beans, tomato and corn salsa, and guac FTW!)
Eating out has a way of becoming addicting. At least for me
It always takes a good long look at my credit card statement before I decide I need to cook more at home! haha
Raw pumpkin seeds are DELICIOUS! I buy them in bulk from my grocery store
a favorite way of mine to use them is mixed into plain greek yogurt with cut up strawberries, some raisins, and ample amounts of cinnamon -it’s really great with the crunchy-ness of the pumpkin seeds and the shewy-ness of the raisins! It’s a staple go-to bedtime snack!
yay for raw pumpkin seeds! i need to get some too! do roasted ones do the same trick? or is that a stupid question?
and i am all about the hugs… wish we could have that girls’ night we talked about. some day it’s happening. love you!
If you figure out how to transport yourself to Ashley’s bring me along!!!! And I would totally put plants in my garden rather than seeds… I don’t exactly have a green thumb.
#10. Oh my gosh, I literally JUST had this convo with my husband this morning. Him: “when are we going to see Avengers?” Me: “Hopefully never”
Why do they insist on seeing movies that look like such crap?!
I think we all have fallen into a pattern of eating out too much at some point… its just so nice having it made for you, not having to CLEAN UP and a tasty dish that ur craving
But at the same time I love saving money, hehe and the satisfaction of making a delicious healthy dinner for the hubby and I.
And I know exactly what you mean by the hiccups! I get them terribly, mu husband always tries to scare me hoping they will go away… mine get so loud, it’s embarrassing. Have a great weekend!
Eeek on the cavities. Sounds like you’ve had a time of it, but glad that Ashley has been there and that you & Kathleen have a meetup planned. Have fun!
wow - so funny- i tried pumpkin seeds for the first time this week … i could not place what the flavor was … but yes, now that you say it - it is bacon … hmmm i wonder if i got roasted instead of raw unsalted if they would have the same flavor … i don’t really like the smokeyness of them…
In the boarding school where I work, the students went through a phase of being totally obsessed with raw pumpkin seeds - they taste SO wierd!
Definitely trying raw pumpkin seeds now!
I never thought I would like pumpkin seeds, but they are quite delicious! We have also been eating way too much lately, my bank account is really starting to protest!
I’ve been that way too with cooking! I’ve been gone most nights this week so I’ve been going out for lunch AND dinner! It’s very bad! I think your Avengers plan is excellent! My mom and I do that sometime with my dad- we’ll go together to dinner and then when we get to the movie theater we split off and then meet back up after for yogurt! Win for everyone!
I’ve been the same way with cooking too. Perhaps it’s the weather getting nicer? Doesn’t really inspire you to stay in the kitchen. My recipes have been a lot more of the quick snack and go variety - protein shakes or microwave muffins - rather than evening meals etc. Ah well! I know inspiration will come soon enough, probably from the blog world. It’s pretty awesome that way
Oh goodness #1 made me squirm! I have a cavity that I’ve needed to get filled for at LEAST 6 months… therefore, I haven’t chewed on the right side of my mouth for 6 months. I know there are probably others too. I just can’t do it! I HATE the dentist
I have absolutely zero desire to see the Avengers. My husband can go see it, that’s what bros are for
I love the apart but together movies! Best of both worlds!
I have been eating out a lot too because I was out of town, but Chipotle…oh sweet Chipotle…how I love thee!
Happy friday to you! Aw, cavities are never fun, but I like the dentist. I’m crazy like that. I usually never eat, I prefer cooking my own stuff. And the restaurants my friends like to go to are not ones I like very much. Okay, I feel like a total doofus, but I don’t know what the Avenger’s even is? I’ve heard all thus hype about it, but have no clue what any of it means or is about. I guess my next stop is google. Have a great weekend lady!xo
I actually really enjoyed the Avengers! So the hubby and I hadn’t seen Thor yet and we had plans to go to dinner and see the avengers with our friends last weekend. They said Thor is a must watch before the avengers. So, after dinner, we rented Thor, then hit up a late night showing of Avengers. They were both really good- you should give them a chance!!
You’re right, Ashley is awesome!
We planted very few things from seeds this year, but we planted a TON of plants….I can’t even imagine what it’s going to be like when the veggies start rolling in. You can check out what we planted if you want - http://wp.me/p1Bo8h-fS. Have a great weekend!
Mmm raw pumpkin seeds are delicious! I’ve never compared them to bacon though! haha Definitely will think of that the next time I have them!
I’ve had the urge to garden lately! What vegetables did you buy?! I’m thinking of picking up some herbs this weekend for something basic to start with!
Happy Friday Chelsey!
I’ve been eating out a lot lately too - and I already have plans to eat out 2 more times in the upcoming week. I feel like I have no inspiration in the kitchen lately either! But I’m sure we’ll become inspired once all the delicious summer produce takes over the farmer’s markets!
I agree with you on how amazing Ashley is!
She’s one of my favorite-ist (that’s not a word, is it?) bloggers ever! Love her!
Have a great weekend, Chelsey!!
Oh my gosh, I hate the hiccups that hurt! I get them all the time and it feels like my chest is going to explode!
Oh man i didnt think there would be so many people NOT wanting to see avengers! Uh hello ladies chris evans and chris hemsworth!?! I absolutely hate chick flicks so maybe i just have diff tastes. You should give it a whirl the action and special effects are really cool. Weve been eating out more too but its prob bc im tired of cookin dinner since going gluten free. Its hard to find restaraunts around me that cater to celiacs so itd been the same three places. Anywho love your blog you seem so sweet!
When you find that meal prep motivation, send some my way. I wasn’t born with that cooking/baking/kitchen gene.
I totally commiserate with you about the painful hiccups… I had them all day yesterday! It’s like they can’t just come one time in a day. ‘The Avengers’ is actually really good! I saw it with my mom and sisters last weekend. Have a great weekend!
I love together/apart movie days. My husband and I double date like this with another couple all the day. Dinner together, movies separate…everyone wins!
Motivation for meal planning: Spring time is a great way to try light and luscious salads which usually take like no time at all to put together. My favs are ones mixed with grains like quinoa. Try this one here…it’s really good and quite simple! http://scandifoodie.blogspot.com.au/2011/10/quinoa-with-asparagus-and-toasted.html
Oh and I so wish teleportation existed…someone should get onto that…seems nobel prize worthy!
My fiance saw The Avengers with his cousin, brother and dad, so I got out of seeing that one
.
HI! Love your blog! I have 2 food ideas for you-neither are actual meals! The shake I’ve been eating lately: ice, almond milk, scoop of pb, scoop of protein powder, big handful of spinach-blend! It’s quite filling and weird how you can’t really taste the spinach…NEXT: giant bowl of popcorn-spray olive oil over it, shake a good dose of paprika and a bit of salt….the taste is a bit sweet and salty and its filling. (hmmm..Did I say this wasn’t a meal-because I actually had this for dinner the other night…..!) Enjoy!
You can definitely forgive yourself for eating out. You are planting a vegetable garden for goodness sake!
YES - you are spot on with the bacon flavor. Seems like there should be something creative one could do to take advantage of this (assuming one likes bacon flavor!) by incorporating raw pepitas into some recipe.
And…I saw Avengers on Friday night with a group of friends who, now that you mention it, were mostly males.
It was entertaining but…well…the story line was very spotty. There were WAY too many things going on. Sort of like a soap opera, but with a lot of bad jokes.
The Avengers was really good, FYI. You and your mom missed several shots of Captain America’s fine rear end. bahahaah
