1. I think I’m going to petition next year so that I can teach outside all the time when it’s 65 degrees and higher. I was outside all afternoon yesterday for our picnic and will be outside all afternoon today for field day. Pumped. Bring on the sun!
2. Nasoya sent me a package in the mail yesterday (more to come!) and part of that package was a pair of shorts. A pair of shorts that reads “Extra Firm” across my derriere. The Husband thinks that it is hilarious and wants to take a picture. I told him no – and that could quite possibly be one of the first few times he was ever interested in anything having to do with the blog. Figures.
3. Congratulations to my beautiful friend Kathleen on the addition to her family this December! Eeeek I can’t wait to hold that baby!
4. Have you seen this blog Never Seconds? It’s written by a 9 year old girl – NINE! It’s all about her school lunches, which she is highly disappointed in the taste/health factors. I think she is amazing.
5. I get to see THIS GIRL on Sunday. Excitement doesn’t even begin to describe how happy I am to meet my twin.
6. I have been writing this post already for 45 minutes. Fun Facts Fridays usually only take me 15. This is ridiculous.
7. It has now been an hour. I am entranced by the new season of So You Think You Can Dance.
8. It’s time for me to make my summer reading list – what’s on yours?
9. Did you know it’s like still almost light outside at like 9:00? That is amazing.
10. It’s the weekend – a three day weekend! Enjoy! Happy Friday!

Haha your hubby is rather hilarious! I’m starting the book Behind the Beautiful this weekend! It’s been a while since I’ve read a novel so looking forward to get wrapped up in it!
I’ll have to look into that one!
Haha I think someone was a little distracted by So You Think You Can Dance!!
Did you watch the season with Kent from Wapakoneta? Wapak was the town we just moved from, and I met Kent while working out at our local YMCA a few months ago. I was like a 16-year-old groupie!!
No, I didn’t watch that one!
Crazy Love, Captivating, Created to be His Helpmeet!
I have been wanting to read that book! I’m going to have to read that next as a devotional!
Jealous that you get to be outside for work today soaking up the sun! It’s been miserable and rainy here for 6 days STRAIGHT!! It better shape up before the beach tomorrow. Happy Friday
I am sooooo happy it’s Friday, and I’m sooooo going to enjoy my weekend. (over dramatic? not a bit!)
#2 cracks my up, by the way. I’m with the hubs on this one.
haha no picture will be shown!
I LOVE that it’s staying light out later - I left yoga at 8:45 and walked as slowly as possible to my car - I just wanted to be outside!
I want a pair of shorts that say that, although technically, it should say “super soft!” or “plush!”
haha I know, right?
A few fun facts for you:
1. I’m SO excited to watch SYTYCD tonight.
2. I’m dying over the “Extra Firm” shorts.
3. I think you need to petition to be able to teach from Georgia. Specifically, from my living room.
I think I could make that happen!!!
I love how up in the north it stays light out so late! I’ve lived in Florida my entire life so I never experienced it before. When I went to Europe last summer I was in London and walked outside and it was still dusk. I quickly became confused because I thought I had just looked at my watch and it said it was 10:45 PM… no wait, that’s right. It’s 10:45 PM and it’s still light outside. I was SHOCKED!
I felt the same way when I was in Europe a few years ago!
Those shorts sound priceless! I had a pair of football pajamas with “tight end” plastered across the bum, those were quite fun!
haha I love it!
haha last night my boyfriend told me that he’s been loving “So You Think You Can Dance” lately and I just about fell out of my seat. REALLY?! YOU were watching that? What am I missing here? haha
haha I love it! The Husband has been sitting down and watching it with me too!
Happy weekend! I seriously LOVE that it is light out later, my favorite time of year!
<3
I heard about that girl’s bog! Very impressive!!!
So You Think You Can Dance started??? How did I miss that?! Ahh I need to watch it asap
. And I’m beyond jealous that you and Ashley get to see one another….two of my favs are meeting up and I wanna be there haha
Come on out here!
yayyyy!!! can’t wait to see you!
haha and those shorts sound hilarious! i love it.
My summer reading list is RIDICULOUS!! I have so many books on it- I don’t know where to start but gosh am I excited! A new Emily Giffin book comes out this summer and I have tons of baby related reading to do. First up The Blessing— when it comes in the mail (crossing my fingers for today!)
Those shorts! ….enough said!
Oh I am so excited for that Emily Griffin book to come out!
thank you so much, sweet friend!! can’t wait to see you next weekend.
p.s. i LOVED field day. best.day.ever.
I’m excited to see you too! Email me back on what you’d like to do/go!
That nine-year-old’s blog really is amazing. First of all, that she’s running a blog (even with some help) at that young is awesome, but that she’s using it for a cause/to make a point is inspiring! She’s definitely putting attention on that school!
I think her writing is great too! I work with 10 year olds and I can tell you, they’re not all good writers!
TofuXpress sent me a tshirt that had something similar to the Extra Firm written on it. I gave it to my husband b/c it was a man’s XL and I can’t remember what it said but something along those lines. I wish he’d wear it
haha that’s funny!
That blog with the 9 year old is amazing!
And I was also engrossed in So You Think You Can Dance
Have a nice weekend:)
This post totally cracked me up! It took me nearly twice as long as usual to write my blog post because I got so sucked in to So You Think You Can Dance too!
Enjoy your day outside!!
p.s. I would really love to see those shorts! haha they sound amazing! I want!
You’ll have an opportunity to win a package from them sometime next week!
I can’t wait to check out that Never Seconds blog - sounds awesome! I, too, was entranced by the new SYTYCD season. I love summer! Reality TV at its finest lol!
My teachers would sometimes take us outside for classes and this was in high school haha. I’m surprised you can’t do that! Did you see the mom with her 2 kids on so you think you can dance?! Holy moly, I was balling my eyes out. And then my sister made fun of me for about an hour. It was the cutest thing ever! I love that a 9 year old started a blog, that’s amazing, so going to check it out. Hope you have an amazing weekend!
Oh we can do it - it’s just not too often because when they’re 10 it’s hard for them to just sit still outside!
haha those shorts sound really funny! I want to see it with my own eyes
And I can’t believe a 9 year girl writes that blog! She must be a genius and quite mature~
It’s crazy how light it’s been lately. Went out last night at 8:30 and it felt like it was 5. Love it!
I did come across the Never Seconds blog just yesterday. It came across a news feed on my home page. Pretty awesome that Jamie Oliver contacted her. Her school lunches do look a bit depressing though.
Summer Reads: The Starch Solution - Dr. John McDougall and the 50 shades trilogy. Let us know what you are reading Chelsey!
I’m interested in hearing about that book. There are so many differing opinions on “what works” and “what doesn’t” out there!
LOL! That is hilarious about the shorts!
Enjoy your long weekend.
Hahah to those Nasoya shorts!
OMG, I just went over to that Never Seconds blog and her picture from yesterday from the Spokane person is a student in my friend’s classroom. What a small world!
Anyway…on my summer reading list: Matched series & I am contemplating 50 Shades of Gray - just because I want to see what all the hype is about. But I don’t think I’ll like it, it doesn’t seem like my style.
That’s crazy!!!
Now I want to know the story behind those shorts! I know my fiance would find them hilarious too.
I think all teachers should make that a mandatory rule - speaking as a college student, metabolic would be much more enjoyable outside on a beautiful day
haha we do go outside some days, but it’s hard for them to concentrate when we’re out there!
So glad for the weekend! I get distracted all the time! Like now, I should be sleeping!
Crap. Totally forgot to record SYTYCD. Thanks for the reminder!
Love this fun facts friday, it basically captures my state of mind over the past couple of days. Seriously, is it summer yet?
LOVE So you think you can dance!! I can’t wait for the next episode!
I read about the young girl at Never Seconds yesterday and think her story is so amazing and highly needed in the school system!
My SNL also teaches and the summer is when she does all of her secular reading….she can read one book in like a day!
So cool that you and Ashley get to hang out!
I’ve already read two over the holiday weekend!
chelsey, i would be more than happy to take those shorts off your hands and give them a good home - way too funny! i collect quirky tshirts, and those shorts would be perfect to add in for the summer. seriously. i will even pay for shipping to canada!!!
enjoy the rest of your long weekend!
haha - you’ll have a chance to win a pair later next week!
Wow, I can’t believe a 9 year old can write NeverSeconds! That’s awesome and I love her critique of bad school lunch food! Love the shorts btw!
Ahh I didnt know so you think you can dance started!
I used to love when my teachers took class outside!
I would only wear shorts that said ‘extra firm’ if that’s what they would transform my tush into lol. End of story.
I know, right?
I’ve been wanting to read “Don’t Waste Your Life” by John Piper…but I keep putting it off.
Love your fun facts…you sound exactly like me…I get so distracted sometimes.
I’ve been wanting to read the fifty shades of grey series and I started the first one; and i hate to say I’m not impressed. I think I may try to pick up another book instead haha. Have any recommendations>
