feeling the love

June 20, 2012

Wednesday already! Wednesdays are my extremely long days of the summer. I babysit twice — back to back. First shift with two little boys is from 7:45-5:00. My next shift is from 6:30-10:30 with another little boy while his mom goes to her bowling league. I may need copious amounts of caffeine for this one!

Breakfast — 6:00 AM

This wasn’t my breakfast from yesterday, but it looks pretty darn similar to what I ate. A big bowl of blueberry oatmeal topped with cinnamon, coconut, more blueberries, and almond butter (in lieu of peanut butter!).

June 1, 2011 012

I was babysitting all day yesterday, and in the morning, we hit up the local library to check out new books. There was also a magic show going on at 10:00, so we stayed for that.It was an hour long (a little too long for an antsy 3 year old), but it was hilarious. I think I laughed more than the kids.

 Lunch — 12:00 PM

After I made lunch for the boys, I whipped up my own food that I brought from home. I ended up eating an egg sandwich on an Udi’s bagel — it was full of great toppings too. Avocado, horseradish hummus, lettuce, and tomato — yum!

IMG_20120619_120137

On the side I had a Chobani- black cherry, one of my favorites! I was a little nervous because I haven’t been eating yogurt lately and when I ate one on Saturday it made me really sick. Thankfully this one digested well.

Snack — 3:00 PM

Larabar break! In between dirtying the house by making a race track out of toilet paper (don’t ask) and playing Candyland, I took a snack break. Peanut butter Chocolate Chip is where it’s at!

IMG_20120619_143845

I got home around 6:00 and found I had an AWESOME love drop waiting for me on my doorstep. I was quite happy to see this! Such a great surprise! Thanks Love Grown!

IMG_20120619_175301

6:00 PM

When I got home, I fired up the grill (95 is way too hot outside to put the oven on!) and grilled the husband some sausages and myself some organic yams. I made two so I could bring one in my lunch tomorrow — best idea ever!

I went to my “go to” dinner since I was hungry and wanted to eat my arm off by the time I got home. I made a big salad that was full of avocado and other vegetables. I also ate my grilled yams and had a few dips!

PhotoGrid_1340150247096
After dinner, I ate a dark chocolate Adora disk (calcium at its finest)!

I’m sure I’m going to eat a snack of Puffins and perhaps an almond butter spoon later as well — I’m too lazy to photograph that, you should know that by now.

I’m going to give a bag of my Love Grown away! If you would like to win a bag, please comment below on what variety (minus raisin almond crunch because I already ripped into that one) you would like to try. I will announce a winner on Friday morning!

I just saw the owner of Love Grown at The Fancy Food Show this past weekend and I wanted to give her a hug for creating some delicious granola. :) I really don’t have a favorite because I seem to like, I’m sorry, LOVE, them all equally.

I need me some horseradish hummus!

And that is a LONG day of babysitting. Yowza. I’m a momma and don’t even think I could handle that long. ;) And that magic show is a ridiculous length for a 3 year old. Still sounds fun though!

Reply

cleaneatingchelsey June 21, 2012 at 7:48 pm

haha well, the kid at night goes to bed at 8′ish, so it’s really just like a normal day of being a momma!

Reply

cleaneatingchelsey June 21, 2012 at 7:50 pm

bahahah, not so much - I’m pretty strict. In fact, one of the little boys told me the other day he liked his babysitter lastweek better (I had the week off to work on curriculum work). I told him I was not offended at all since that meant I was disciplining when he wasn’t doing what he was supposed to. haha!

how do you do sweet potatoes on the grill? I’m still obsessed with them even though it’s summertime…maybe a little bit of an unseasonable obsession? Anyway, I’d love to learn a new way to prepare them!

Hi Chelsey!
I realize it is too late for the giveaway but I wanted to say I love your blog and follow it religiously! I hope to build my blog up with time and would love it if you got a chance to take a look…I would love some feedback from someone who has got it together. :)
By the way how is the maple walnut flavor? I saw this in the store and was thinking of picking up a bag..I haven’t really been doing walnuts lately and I kind of miss them (only on a food blog would that sound normal lol)!
Thanks girl!
