Why hello there!
I know many of you tried to load my blog earlier in the day and were greeted with an ominous black screen. Thank you to those of you who emailed/facebooked/tweeted me to make sure that was supposed to happen — it was! CEC was getting a face lift this morning, designed by the very talented Jenny!
I have always been the kind of person that cannot have something sitting in the same spot for a long period of time, and growing up there were many times when my entire bedroom was rearranged at 2 AM. No joke — I pushed and pulled my furniture all over the place while my parents were sleeping. Surprise! 
With that being said, even though I just got my blog redesigned last year, I of course got started right away on thinking about redesigning it again. Something cleaner (pun intended), something a little wider, something a little more user friendly.
What can you find that’s different?
My new header!
Jenny is amazing — I contacted her YESTERDAY (seriously, last night) and gave her my thoughts about wanting to redesign, and she jumped right on it. I didn’t give her much to go off on, and she created something that is so me. Girly, but not too girly, clean, and streamlined.
I also wanted something easy to navigate. You’ll find on the right hand side new buttons to get to my “about me”, “recipes”, and “contact” pages. Another feature that I love on other blogs is when I can quickly go from one post to another (if I’m catching up on posts) without having to scroll up and down the screen trying to figure out where their “previous, next” buttons are. Instead, if you are in a specific post, you can find arrows on the left and right hand side of the screens. Just click away and you’ll be brought to the previous or next post!
A big thanks to Jenny for making this happen — she was incredibly easy to work with, quick, and not to mention very reasonably priced. I highly recommend you working with her!

The new design is GREAT! I love it - so sleek! Jenny is definitely talented! I’ve been thinking about a new header myself for a while…I totally hear ya on the rearranging the room at 2AM thing, haha!

Oooh, it’s so cute! I like the buttons on the side instead of the top. Very unique:)
I like the clean white of your new site, but I do not like the jagged piercing vertical fork and knife presented at the top. I interpret this verticalness as message of, “I’m going to eat you, so run and hide!!!” I think this should be changed and made to be more inviting and less scary. You’re a kind, teeny, tiny sprite. This new design (does not scream teeny tiny kind sprite).
I think you’re reading into it a little too much!
Actually, before I realised that you had executed a re-design, I spotted the vertical stature of the silverware and thought, “Harshness.” If you cannot accept constructive criticism, then I counsel you not to request it.
I love the new design. I am the same way and can’t have many things the same for too long!
She really does seem awesome to work with! AND, has some pretty sweet website ideas!!! I will totally have to keep her in mind once I have my own domain. I need change often, too, and am always looking forward so I totally understand what you mean on changing your look even though you just did a year ago. Yearly tradition maybe? haha

Ah! I got a new header from Jenny on Sunday! Literally emailed her Sunday morning with not even a clue about what I wanted. By 2pm, I had a completely new header! She is amazing and such a pleasure to work with!!! Your header looks awesome!!
Your new design looks fantastic! And I love the easy to navigate arrows on the sides - such a good idea! I’m thinking of making some blog changes at some point (my own domain, new design, possibly a new name…) and I will definitely be contacting Jenny when I do!

ThanksKaci! I actually have been BUSY this summer, and going back to school will be kind of nice. haha! I’ve been babysitting like 50 hours a week, so I’m a busy lady!
