1. I spent the afternoon frolicking around with my bestie from college yesterday afternoon. We ate lunch at The Cheesecake Factory (complete with 1 PM cocktails —who does that?) and walked around Oak Brook Mall to catch up. It was the best.
2. I honestly say this so much, but I can’t imagine life without the friends I’ve made through blogging. I love them so much — between the daily emails, chat sessions, and texts, it’s just wonderful.
3. Does anyone else watch The Glee Project? I’ve been following it this season, and I am in love. Oh and as if I don’t watch enough reality TV (I think it’s all I watch), I am now obsessed with Beverly Hills Nannies — is that seriously real life?!?!
4. This picture makes me laugh — seriously, we can’t go a week without a baby picture.
Don’t worry people — I wasn’t letting her bite huge chunks out of it. She doesn’t have enough teeth for that. She was sucking the juice out of my apple.
And just for good measure because she’s so darn cute…
5. One more month before the first day of school. Surprisingly, I’m not mourning this at all!
6. I practiced restraint yesterday by not going into Lululemon at the mall. If I went in there, all bets would be off.
7. It’s BIRTHDAY WEEKENDDD!!! On Sunday, the following conversation went down….
Me: So, if my birthday is next Monday, would my birthday week celebration be this week or next week? I kind of want it to be this week because celebrating your birthday after it has happened isn’t that fun.
Husband: Birthday week? No such thing.
Me: Yes there is — I want a birthday week where we celebrate in anticipation.
Husband: I’ll give you a weekend.
Me: Deal.
So, to start off birthday weekend, all I want to do is relax on my couch tonight — too many hours worked this week.
8. I read this post from Maria yesterday, and I’m determined to try it. I haven’t talked about it for a while, but I’m still having skin issues — day three is today!
9. It’s the weekend — Have a good one! Happy Friday!

Good. I’m glad.
YAY!!! Happy birthday weekend to you! I wish I was there to celebrate with you!
Woo birthday weekends are a necessity! Have an amazing celebration (with lots of 1pm cocktails thrown in
)!
Thank you!
I totally agree with your #2. I love my fitness and health blogger friends. I’m inspired DAILY by all of them through emails, tweets, instagrams, etc. So fun to keep up with everyone and motivate one another. Have a great birthday weekend!
Thanks!
Tell the husband there is such a thing as a birthday week. Mine starts Sunday.
Enjoy celebrating!
I know, right?! I forgot our birthdays are so close to one another - have a good birthday!
I can’t imagine my life without blog friends either!!!! Love you girl and happy BIRTHDAY WEEKEND!
1 day is never long enough to celebrate a birthday! I hope you have a fabulous weekend of celebrating.
haha I totally agree! Thank you!
LOVE the baby pictures- never too many of them!!
Enjoy- you deserve it!
Happy Birthday weekend <3 …if the husband is willing to go along for a weekend of fun, you're in for a good time! I hope it is amazing all weekend long!!!
Yay! Happy Birthday!! Have a great weekend! I can’t imagine life without blog friends either!
I don’t think we get Beverly Hills Nannies, but sounds intriguing! I’m currently (back) in love with Big Brother. I’ve watched every episode of every season, every year… since I was 12. It’s kinda problem… that I embrace fully.
Love the new look, too. Very nice!
I’m right there with you on Big Brother. You have to be able to carve time out for a show that happens three times a week, but it’s totally worth it. I even got my husband on board when we first got together!
Happy Birthday!!!! Have a fabulous weekend! That baby is the cutest! There is nothing better than those flower headbands for babies! I just love them!
I agree- even better is that she doesn’t try to take them off!
you see my husband was hesitant at first about giving me a ‘birthday week’… but i gladly told him if i could have one.. he could too. Try that, maybe you’ll get a full week
((let him know that if during his birthday week he wants massages, or wants a special dinner.. you’ll do it. -maybe just hope he forgets about the week long massages though))
ENJOY YOUR NIGHT OF RELAXATION
Thanks! I’m thinking sushi on the couch is in order!!
Happy Birthday weekend LOL! I always try to make the day last as long as possible too! Its so fun!
birthday weeks are a must!! Your Husband will declare one when his birthday roles around! Happy Birthday Weekend!!!
Happy birthday weekend! Baby pictures ALWAYS welcome.
Enjoy!
Happy Birthday weekend! Hope you have a great one
So glad that you’re trying the Oil Cleansing Method, I’ve been thinking about you and hoping it helps! How have you been liking it so far?
Your niece really is so darn cute! She’s the same age as my nephew and I’m totally obsessed with him! Have a great weekend!
I really like it so far!! The first morning after I was surprised at how soft and moisturized my face felt!!!
Awesome, I’m so glad!!
Awwwwwhhhhh — babies are always so cute. <3
Hope you have a great birthday weekend!!
Lol! I totally watched the Beverly hills Nannies!! It was hilarious!
#2 makes me smile. I couldn’t agree more. And yes to 1 PM coctails! I’m all about it. There may or may not be a little somethin’ somethin’ on its way for the birthday girl. I suck at surprises.
You’re the best!!!!!
happy friday!
cute baby pics:)
i don’t see anything wrong with a 1pm cocktail. it’s all in good fun! haha
Happy birthday weekend!! You’re definitely allowed to get 1 pm cocktails. Birthday girls can do what they want!
Love Cheesecake Factory and your husband sounds just like mine. Happy Birthday and have a fabulous birthday weekend!
Um, of course I watch Glee Project and Beverly Hills Nannies. Only the cool people do. Is it sad that I kinda want to just quit law school and become a nanny? That one girl has it all, $40 an hour and a car? Yes, please.
yayy! happy birthday!!! enjoy your weekend
umm you so DEFINITELY get a birthday week! At work, whenever someone has a birthday, they get a birthday week. Enjoy!
I kept meaning to set my DVR for Beverly Hills Nannies, but always forgot! BUT I noticed that it’s available OnDemand, so I’ll definitely be catching up!
I TOTALLY do 1pm cocktails. In fact, I think I had a mojito in my hand by 12:15 yesterday afternoon….no shame!
I hope you have a fabulous birthday weekend!
My husband’s birthday is on Monday and we totally do Birthday Week! I think the week leading up to the birthday makes more sense, so we are also having the big birthday weekend starting today! Happy birthday!
1pm cocktails are the best, we all need ‘em sometimes.
Have the best birthday weekend EVER…heck, have the best birthday week! Birthdays are better celebrated in a week I think. Your husband is just being silly
Yay for birthday weekend!!!
LIES … birthday weeks exist … husbands just refuse to acknowledge them
Have a GREAT birthday weekend!! AND I’ve been reading in reader lately and LOVE the new blog look!!
Also checking out Maria’s post … I too suffer from skin probs and want it to stop!
Happy birthday!!!
Oh the days of wearing flowers on my head. At least I’m still a five-year-old at heart
Happy Bday and those are the cutest little girls! And their skin is so fair and angelic looking!
Beverly Hills Nannies is such a ridiculous show - that I can NOT stop watching!! So crazy, especially the breastfeeding mom who is apparently preparing for the apocalypse. And I love the Glee Project, I swear the competition really kicked it up a notch this year.
1 pm cocktails = fabulous day! have a great birthday weekend!!
Thank you for linking to the blog with the suggestions to help acne!!! I’m definitely going to try it!! Thank you! And please keep us updated on how it works for you!
I’m all about the birthday week! Heck, I even go for a birthday month!
First, Happy Happy Birthday Week!!
Secondly, my birthday is Tuesday, so we’re almost birthday twinkies. YAY Leos!!
Lastly, this is how I handle the birthday thing when it falls on a weekday. I literally posted this on my Facebook the other day, “Since my birthday foolishly falls on a Tuesday this year (come on birthday, who does that?) I’m deeming the whole rest of this week and the entire next week MY BIRTHDAY. In fact, there’s talk of celebrating the rest of the month. Let the Birthday Extravaganza begin.”
Truth be told, I like to gradually start celebrating after the Fourth of July, then things get wild around today, because the weekend is near and the co-workers fed me a great birthday lunch today. The celebration will continue throughout the week, and will culminate next weekend.
So, essentially I’d say take the rest of the month. We Leos deserve it!
Happy Birthday weekend
xo
What!? The glee project is back on! I was so hooked on the first season…I must go check the local listings…have I missed many episodes?
Keep us posted how the oil cleansing method works for you! I read about it a while ago here http://www.theoilcleansingmethod.com/
I read Maria’s post too and now I’m confused if I should use 3:1 castor oil to evoo or evoo to castor oil… I’m going to try it tonight and use more castor oil than evoo for my oily skin
Happy Birthday week! Mine is next Friday so I guess I can start tonight too
I used to celebrate my birthday MONTH. After college, that changed to birthday week. Now since H was born 5 days before my birthday, I get a birthday 4 days of anticipation.
Hope you’re having a great birthday weekend
Happy Birthday Celebration! I agree, we should anticipate and celebrate! I am currently up to a week-long celebration, but I strive to make it into a month-long celebration like my mom does. Girl knows how to celebrate!
I support birthday 2 weeks
I take the whole week of mine off from work to do absolutely nothing or whatever strikes my little fancy. Enjoy yours! Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday Chelsey! And happy summer (I’m a teacher too)- hope you are enjoying it so far!
I love larabars- uber bars look awesome as well.
I’d love to hear what you think of the oil cleansing method! I had a massive breakout back in late May/early June (the likes of which I have never had - not even as a greasy teen) that left me with some serious marks that I’m trying to fade. The post you linked to said it helped her post-acne scars. Have you seen a big difference so far?
Raw honey as a facial cleanser is awesome, too. Keeps skin pretty clear and bright. Pair it with a little baking soda and you have a wonderful exfoliator.
Can’t wait to see how the oil cleansing method works for you! I tried it once a couple weeks ago but was too lazy to keep going, but I’m going to give it another try! I was also looking into some lush products for morning because I feel as I need more cleansing and things than mentioned in the post you linked to!
I love uber bars!!! Didn’t know they made the mini ones.
