tuesday morning confessions

August 14, 2012

1. Sometimes I listen to songs only because they make me cry.

2. I haven’t made my husband dinner since before vacation. He’s living off of Frosted Mini-Wheats and Gobstoppers right now. No joking here.

3. I asked my niece to come help me at school tomorrow morning because there are tasks that need to be done but I really don’t want to do it. I told her I’d be there at 7:30 to pick her up. She told me she’d set her alarm for 6:00. What an overzealous ten year old.

4. On Sunday afternoon, I told my mom I wasn’t sure when the last time I washed my hair was. I had showered every day, but my hair was getting neglected. I calculated it was Wednesday. That would be approximately five days. #dontjudgeme #iswearitwasntagreasepit

5. I always underestimate how long things take to do at work. Not because I’m continually working, but because I’m too busy gabbing about inappropriate things with my co-workers.

6. I was going to make today a giveaway day, but then last night I got lazy and didn’t take the pictures. It will happen soon at an unexpected time. Be prepared. It’s going to be CHO awesome.

Haha, it happens. Sometimes I wonder what my husband would eat if I went on strike. I think he’d live off potato chips, blocks of cheese, and maaaaaybe pasta if he was feeling energetic.

haha - the funny thing is that the Husband totaaallllyy could cook for himself if he put his mind to it. He just goes on strike.

Hey chica! Can you do a post on your favorite lunches to bring to school. I’m a teacher too and every fall makes me motivated to pack healthy lunches and not go out!

As a hairstylist, I can tell you that you are doing your locks a favor by giving them a rest from shampoo!!! Healthy hair is happy hair!!:-)

hahaa the funniest thing is that she’s totally NOT - which made it even cuter that she got super excited to come help me.

Oh man, if I don’t cook my husband dinner or tell him specifically what leftovers are in the fridge he’ll only ever eat a bowl of cereal or peanut butter toast. It’s so pathetic!

When I’m in a “mood,” I put on one of those songs that are sure to bring tears and go at it! I swear I always feel a million times better! Whatever works, right??

Maria @ Pappa Don't Preach August 14, 2012 at 7:55 am

Every hair dresser I know recommends going as long as possible without washing your hair. The girl who did my hair recently goes minimum 7 days! It’s so much better for your hair! I’m jealous!

Briana August 14, 2012 at 7:56 am

Wait a minute, doesn’t every girl do that? I mean, sometimes I’ll make a playlist of songs that I know will make me cry. Then I have it on hand any time I need to cry lol. All girls do this. Yes, I’m just going to state it like it’s a fact.

I think the #1 thing that took the husband the most to get used to when we got married was the fact that I don’t have to wash my hair every day. He showers twice a day and thinks its crazy that I don’t need to wash my hair! (in fact, my hair looks like crud if I wash it every day!)
As for listening to songs only to make you cry- I get it…. sometimes your body needs the release of a good cry. Hope things go great working at school!!! :)

cleaneatingchelsey August 14, 2012 at 8:01 pm

twice a day? Dude is wasting some water! :)

Reply

Kendra August 14, 2012 at 8:07 am

Haha, I love your honesty!!:) And I agree the above commentator that giving your hair a rest from shampoo can be a great idea. In fact, I don’t even use shampoo anymore; instead I use a mix of baking soda and water (1 tablespoon of baking soda to 1 cup of water), followed by a mix of apple cider vinegar and water (1 tablespoon of vinegar to 1 cup of water). It works just as well as shampoo (for me, at least), and doesn’t have all the nasty chemicals that can be in some regular shampoos:) Of course, this may not work for everyone, but I love it!!

Reply

cleaneatingchelsey August 14, 2012 at 8:01 pm

I’ve heard other people do that too - I don’t think I could give up the shampoo though!

Beks August 14, 2012 at 8:15 am

I totally listen to sad songs just because they’re sad. I have a whole file in my iTunes devoted to songs with a melancholy melody. LOTS of instrumental, LOTS of teenage emo. LOL

Oh have no shame… i don’t wash my hair every day. The hubs thinks it’s kinda gross, but i was told by my hair stylist before that it’s actually good not too shampoo daily. I’ve tried telling him this , but he just doesn’t believe it!!

Reply

cleaneatingchelsey August 14, 2012 at 8:05 pm

I typically don’t wash it every day either - I’m an every other day kind of girl!

Thanks for giving me a smile. :)

Also, I only wash my hair about 2x/week. Its kind of awesome except I dread hair washing days because it adds so much time to my morning prep.

And finally…frosted mini wheats kind of rock so, you know, I’m sure its fine. ;)

Your honesty cracks me up. I’m never a judger ;) I’m sure your hair appreciated the break. And sometimes picture taking just has to wait. And don’t worry, my husband is like, “ugh, are we going to try and eat at home tonight” because I’ve been that girl that just doesn’t have it in her lately to cook decent meals. I also like using
‘and’ to start multiple sentences. Your niece is so prepared. I wish I was lol.

Def. no judging from me - I’m one who can go a long time between hair washings. Oh, and what is CHO mean… is it code for something mysterious? Maybe short for Chobani? Or maybe I’m the only one who doesn’t know what it means, but whatever it is, I’m excited :)

Haha, I also went a super long time before washing my hair last week…oopsy. At least no one noticed? I hope not, at least.
My sister is a hairdresser and says its good for the hair to breathe every now and again from all the greasy conditioner. So whatever.
Sometimes we just need to release our emotions, so feel free to cry through those songs!

Last week I picked a Chris Rice video of Come to Jesus to play during church. I cried watching it when I picked it out and then I cried again watching it in Church. The weird thing is I KNEW I WAS GOING TO CRY before it even started. Then I had puffy eyes for the rest of the service……I’m sure half the congregation thinks I have unconfessed sin or something/ UGH!

I used to listen to songs just to make me cry when I was in middle school … my girlfriends and I would crank up the Boyz II Men or Mariah Carey, stare at the glow-in-the-dark stars on our ceiling, and cry about boys we liked.

I wish I was kidding.

Reply

cleaneatingchelsey August 14, 2012 at 8:10 pm

haha I used to turn on B96′s (a radio station around here) Top 9 at 9 when I was going to sleep and cry to N’Sync songs.

I wish I could go that long without washing my hair! I can go a max of 3 days without washing it before it gets gross. :P

And Frosted Mini Wheats are delicious! I wouldn’t mind eating those for dinner!
