fun facts friday

September 14, 2012

1. Remember how I told you I was OCD about checking my alarm? Ummm, I totally jinxed myself. Yesterday morning I frantically woke up about an hour after I was supposed to because I stupidly forgot to set my alarm. Thankfully I’m a freak and get up like two hours before I had to leave so it was totally fine.

2. Last night I watched the Friends episode where Rachel had her baby, and it took her like three days to have it. I cracked up the entire time. I just love Friends. PS — Someday me laughing at that will probably bite me in the butt.

3. I’m glad all of you were so enthusiastic about that enchilada recipe yesterday. If you think the Husband actually ate those, you’re wrong. I made his with chicken and black beans. I think if I were to serve him an orange filled enchilada, he would have cried.

4. Speaking of that, the winner of the giveaway is actually Ashley! Woohoo!

5. A few weeks ago, the folks at Handful sent me a few of their new products — a couple of new sports bras and two new tanks. Can I just say how much I LOVE this company? Seriously. Their new tanks are awesome too — long enough for me (which never happens) and the straps can be crossed or regular. I’m a fan.

6. Coconut oil drizzled on sweet potatoes — why why why have I never done that until yesterday? Have I been living under a rock?

7. You may have heard that Chicago Public School District teachers have been on strike all week. No, I am not a CPS teacher, so I have been going to work. I could go on all stinkin’ day long about how the press twists things in favor of the school board, but I won’t. I’ll just let you read what my friend Kelly wrote about it.

8. I tried really hard to watch the Bears game last night, but at 8:00, I couldn’t help but go and watch the season opener of Glee. It was good.

9. Are you doing anything exciting? I am! I’m not telling you what it is though. It’s a secret. ;)

10. Happy Friday!

I’ve heard great things about Handful - haven’t tried them yet though! Friends is freakin’ hilarious! Isn’t it on Nick at Nite now?? I thought only old shoes were on that and Friends is not old!!

I hear ya on the whole CPS strike. It’s terrible.

Coconut butter is amazing, isn’t it? I love it melted on top of oatmeal. Heavenly. I’ve got to try it on a sweet potato!

I had a dream last night that I came to Chicago to visit you. And then I woke up and realized it was a dream and shed a little tear. Let’s make that dream a reality…oaky? :)

I get up 2 hours before I have to leave too. I HATE being rushed in the morning. I really enjoy just settling in to my day. I’ll sacrifice morning sleep any day of the week for my calm mornings. No questions asked. Totally with you there!
I heard about the CPS strike (all the way in Canada!) and thought of you immediately. Glad you’re not affected!!
A love of Friends will never, ever bite you in the butt. It’s always directly applicable to life situations. haha.

I KNOW WHAT YOU’RE DOING!!!!! And I’d be upset that Ash won the giveaway and not me, but I can’t remember what the giveaway was for… So I’m good. P.S. I’m making Molly feel better about not having a play date by taking her to a dog beach… this is going to be fun. haha

God I love Friends. Sometimes I just assume that everyone knows every word of every episode so I throw parts of episodes into everyday conversation. I am alway shocked when a majority of people have no idea what I am talking about.

Reply

cleaneatingchelsey September 17, 2012 at 6:43 pm

Um I always relate every life situation to something that’s happened on friends. My family and friends are never amused when I start witha “remember that friends episode where…”

They’re not as supportive as they look - if you have a larger chest, you definitely need some extra support.

Sorry - the secret was we were going to get another dog, but it didn’t work out. She didn’t like other dogs too much, and it got scary on Sunday. She went back to her foster home, which made me sad, but I couldn’t put Charlie through that!

Coconut oil drizzled on anything is awesome AND those tanks/camis, I want one ! The cut and fit looks perfect. I don’t like skin tight/super clingy tanks (they make me sweat…LOL) and those look perfect for some air :)

Reply

Haha I’m glad I’m not the only one who wakes up way earlier than I need to. When I have an 8:30 am class, I’m up at 6:30 or earlier and my friends just don’t get it. They all roll out of bed at like 8:05 and rush to class. But I like to have a solid hour of “me time” in the mornings before starting my day. :P

Mmm yes coconut butter/oil on sweet potatoes is amazing!

Reply

cleaneatingchelsey September 17, 2012 at 6:51 pm

I actually still did that in college too!

I loooove coconut oil on sweet potatoes! Nothing this weekend… Just excited next weekend it will be cool, and all the pumpkin/apple farms opened! So NEXT weekend I am taking my son, getting apples, petting goats and such, and strolling in downtown Naperville with coffee (and my mom, but emphasis on the coffee)
