1. Julie’s Spooky Circuit Workout
I did this workout on Friday night after school, and HOLY cow. I was huffing and puffing! I only got through two rounds of it in about 35’ish minutes because I had to take longer breaks than she said to take. There wasn’t really anything spooky about it
, but holy DOMS on Saturday night and Sunday. The foam roller was my best friend yesterday (kind of).
2. Having the best husband ever.
I woke up to this on Saturday morning from the Husband. Totally the sweetest thing ever — I was smiling all morning. I went on a little shopping spree and got a new top, new sweat pants (they were needed!), and a pair of black boots (also very needed!).
3. Switching over to homemade coffee
The time has come to an end where I will be going to Starbuck’s every single day. ::sigh:: It was an expensive habit to keep up, and while I want it to be a treat every once in a while, I really need to stop drinking soy milk every day. Since I have hypothyroidism, soy can really mess up your thyroid levels, especially if you eat/drink it less than four hours after taking your medication. Every day was starting to add up, and I think it was effecting my levels for the worse.
4. Farm Stand in lieu of the Farmer’s Market
I went to my favorite farmer’s market on Saturday morning hoping to find some apples, but unfortunately my favorite farmer wasn’t there! The nerve! Instead I went to a local farm stand and grabbed some golden delicious and honey crisp apples. I also got a small buttercup squash. All for $7.00 — pretty good for seven apples and a squash!
5. Seeing Whole Food’s progress!
Orland Park, the town where I do most of my shopping, is FINALLY getting a Whole Foods. Seriously, I have been counting down the days. The opening day is on November 2nd, and it can’t come soon enough. I can’t wait until my mom and I can get lunch from the salad bar!!!!
6. Chipotle Date with Mom
It isn’t very often the two of us get to meet up for lunch on the weekends anymore! I was thrilled my momma asked me earlier last week if I could do lunch on Saturday. We’re Chipotle freaks — what else do you expect of us?
7. Froyo with Katie
A new frozen yogurt place opened up near me, and I insisted Katie come with me (although I did already go with Tina last weekend). It isn’t the best place in the world, but it’s all I’ve got around me so I’ll take it. I can’t wait until Katie and I can go to Yogurtland that’s opening up downtown soon!
8. Lazy Sunday Afternoon
After church yesterday, I attempted to clean and then decided to clean out my filters in my vacuum. That was a stupid idea (or a genius one) because I couldn’t finish cleaning my floors since the filters have to dry for 24 hours. Instead, I watched old episodes of Glee, read Sharp Objects, and took a two hour nap. Best. Sunday. Ever.
Oh, and in case you’re wondering — I finished my paper. Go me!
And I still haven’t heard from my original Love Grown winner — too bad so sad! So the new winner is #92, Sarah!

Your Sunday sounds glorious! Actually, your whole weekend looks awesome! Farmers markets, great husband, fro-yo! Who needs more? Have a great Monday Chelsey!!
I agree - it was pretty good!!
That weekend does sound really great! 1,000,000 bonus points to the sweet husband! Awww!
Enjoy your Monday! They are always easier coming off a weekend like that!
$7 is a steal- apples are getting expensive these days! …..I’m so happy for your great weekend, for real
You had a wonderful weekend! How sweet your husband is, you deserve him very much
I need black boots too, just need to find a pair I love!
Happy Monday! <3
How sweet of your husband! I love that he wrote “shoppin”-so cute.
SO many good things! That was really sweet of John and I’m glad you found those black boots you were wanting to find. And sweat pants…gotta say I can see how more are needed in your house.
Haha!
Also, nice that you got a Chipotle date with your mom. I can picture you two together now that I’ve met her. Oh! And was the guy there again for the froyo?! I want to know if Katie got the entertainment we did!
One more thing…I feel like I should have been there. Still miss hanging out with you!
Jealous! Brad doesn’t given me money EVER!!! LOL So I just take it
Do you have any information about the effects of soy on thyroid levels? I drink and eat A LOT of soy and am always trying to stay up on the research. Unfortunately, the research has been annoyingly contradictory!
Yay, I’m happy you finished your paper. I will be tied to the desk today (no seriously, tie me there) studying for this 40% midterm I have tomorrow. I told the baby that if it had to come early, for some reason, it HAS to hold off until after this thing. Nothing else matters but this haha.
Ok, seriously your husband is awesome, and he has very nice writing. I won’t show my husband how neat your husband’s writing is or he might get a little jealous
I’ll be the one showing our child how to write obviously haha.
Happy Monday - enjoy that creamer is sounds and looks fantastic.
I can not wait for the Whole Foods to open
I’m actually from Orland Park so having the store finally in my home town is super exciting!

Okay, now that I am back from Mexico, I just realized my next trip is to see YOU!!!!!! ahhh girl, I’m beyond excited. Let’s catch up soon!!
Sounds like an amazing Sunday!
And apples are so good right now, apples are in season were I live and are super cheap and super delicious. I got a huge bag of them at the farmer’s market this weekend for $4!
Looks like a great weekend! Yogurtland is the best! I had my fave pistachio this weekend. I’m going to have to give that workout a try. Looks like a tough one.
watching old episodes of glee is always the best..that note your husband left for you is too cute!
I was supposed to get froyo yesterday but I didn’t….and now seeing it on your blog is driving me craaazy. ha! I love the note/gift from the husband and glad you got some goodies!
Aww that note from your hubby is the sweetest thing ever! Looks like you had an awesome weekend! How could you not with chipotle AND froyo mmmmm
i wanna come on a fro-yo date with you and Katie. You guys know how to do it!
Sounds like a great weekend. Let’s hope for an equally as great week!!
What a fun weekend! Cheers to WF opening near you! I’m jealous.
They’re opening a WF down the street from me in SEPTEMBER 2014!!!! That’s SO far away! The empty lot is just teasing me right now…
How sweet of John! He needs to get in contact with Cody to rub off on him a bit.
Glad you and your momma got your Chipotle fix!
What a great weekend!! It really sounds like the stars aligned to make everything fabulous. I hope the rest on Sunday and the fun times throughout the whole thing have set you up for taking your great mood through the rest of the week — I love it when that happens!!
You didn’t tell me about #2 up there while we were chatting last night?!
What a great guy…I agree with Ash up there…I think Jay needs to take some pointers from John on that one!
Awe, I cannot get over how sweet your hubby is! You got yourself a girl man xo
your hubs is the best!! Fro yo should be eaten at least once a week!
That is the cutest note ever from your hubby! So sweet
HOW CUTE is your husband!!!! that’s so sweet. sometimes boys are alright.
Can’t wait for that wf!! Now I won’t have to go all the way to aurora when I visit my mom!
So excited for your Whole Foods! I love that place…I wish I had one close.
What a fun weekend! I prefer my local fruit/veggie stand over the Farmers Market. I find it to be much cheaper and I can get a weeks wortk of fruits/veggies for about $10!
It sounds like you had quite the weekend! I am Chipotle obsessed too. It was my post half marathon meal on Saturday.
man, all those weekend favorites look great. mom dates are the best!
what an adorable husband!!! so cute
hope all is well chelsey. xxx
I too am looking foward to the WF opening in Orland. I feel like they have been working on it FOREVER.
Gah! I wish we were getting a Whole Foods up here. And a Chipotle for that matter. My wallet would hate me, but my stomach would be one happy camper.
I did Julie’s workout twice last week and I loved it but I’m happy to learn I’m not the only one that couldn’t finish it in the time she allotted. I did two rounds and it took me about 30 minutes. Good sweaty fun.
& sounds like your husband is a total sweetheart
I adore lazy Sunday afternoons. Perfect way to wrap up the weekend.
I seriously wish I had a whole foods to go too. Sad there are none near me!
Love the note your husband left, and glad you got some goodies!
Clearly, your husband is fantastic. That’s such a sweet move!
That sounds like a wonderful weekend! We have a Trader Joe’s opening in early November, so I can totally relate to your anticipation for Whole Foods!
Omg, that Chipotle. So glad to see they didn’t skimp on the guac!
That workout looks killer! I’m glad I’m not the only one who sometimes stops after 2 rounds haha.
And dang, what an awesome husband you’ve got! Where can I find me one of those?
Yay for finishing the paper - isn’t that one of the biggest feelings of relief ever? That reminds me of how much longer I’ll have to work on my project for uni …
Awww, you seriously have a sweet husband! Do you regularly leave notes like that for each other?
seems like you really pack it in over the weekend! that’s awesome. i’m trying to create a better balance of fun/productivity on the weekends.
Where did you find the coconut milk vanilla creamer? I think I need that…yes, in fact, I’m positive I need it.
You also just broke some big news. Yogurtland downtown? I’m excited!
I reserve my beloved Starbucks soy lattes for the occasional special outing for the same reason of limiting my soy milk intake. I use almond/cashew creamer in my coffee at home and it is delish!
Hi Chelsey! I have read your blog on and off for a while now, and became especially interested when you posted about HA. I have not been formally diagnosed with HA, but do feel as though I fit the general description (after reading up other blogs like Ashley’s and Courntey’s, along with Fertile Thoughts threads on HA). I haven’t had a cycle since going off bcp in April and recently had my annual exam, as well as blood work done for FSH, TSH, and prolactin levels. My exam, Prolactin and FSH levels all came back normal, however, my TSH was at 5.58. I’m commenting because I just read today(!!) that have also been diagnosed with hypothyroidism and am seeking any experienced advise regarding the connection between HA and hypothyroidism. I cannot find any info online linking the two, and I don’t fit any hypothyroid symptons (besides loss of cycles and mild anxiety/fatigue, but that could also have been from the over exercising…). I have begun my journey towards gaining back my cycles and balancing my hormones through upped cals/healthy fats/indulgences, along with herbs Vitex and maca, and more rest. I commend you and all the other beautiful ladies in the blogosphere for telling your stories and allowing the rest of us in the shadows to feel comfortable talking about HA and seeking support for it. It’s a scary thing, especially in a world of ‘healthy living’ blogs and websites. Reigning in on what ‘healthy’ truly is can be tough, so thank you!
Chipotle is the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
