People, I am not exaggerating when I say that this past weekend was the first weekend in a looooong time where I have had no plans at all. I went home on Friday night practically fist pumping when I thought about how other than laundry/cleaning, I could sit on my butt and do nothing at all. ::aaahhhh::
Friday started with a little pick me up – LOVE these bars!
Saturday started with a little run (sorry for stopping 0.08 miles before 3.0 miles).
Followed by brunch with my bestie before she had to go to work!
When I got home, I made a little to do list for the weekend…

Once I had crossed some of it off my list, I sat down to enjoy my Saturday evening parked on the couch.
I ate, I read, I painted my nails….
(ps – thinking about doing a book review about that book. Wow. I just finished it yesterday, and I need to decompress from it first!)
Sunday started with a beautiful sunrise…

Church and then spending some time with my momma who has been gone for a whole week. We went to the mall, Whole Foods (lunch!), and Trader Joe’s.
When I got home, I made some sort of ball concoction and finished reading the rest of my book. The rest of the afternoon included making a Mexican fiesta for the Husband and me.
AND getting super pumped about the snow that will be falling today! (and some last night? I use a question mark because I am writing this on Sunday night!)![]()
Hopefully this relaxing weekend was just what I needed to power me through this next week! Have a great Monday everyone!

oh gosh, I forgot about the snow! I have yet to look out the window…
It’s not there.
I’m looking forward to snow days about a million times more than the kids! (we didn’t even get one last year! ugh!) ….I’m also just praying it will snow some, we are in s heck of a drought….
ugh. Wondering if this is all just going to become a new normal. I’ll probably meet with my dr next week to talk.
SO glad you had a weekend like that! It makes the whole week better!
…update on this girl- I’m back at work (missing the little guy!) with my kiddos. My MWF daycare is amazing so that helps a tad! Annnnnd- my nerve damage? I’m still hurt
Anywhooooo- Thanksgiving break is on the horizon! Woooo-Hoooooo!
Looks like the perfect weekend to me! Love the nail color….looks very Fall. Let us know about the book. I’m always looking for a good book to read. Have a great start to your week!
It’s actually quite a disturbing book. I’m going to write a review for tomorrow.
I have been looking for a new book to read! Since my commute just quadrupled I will need something to read on the train! Whats the nail color?
It’s a covergirl bronze color!
Sounds like a perfect weekend! Glad you got your rest in now because this weekend is going to be slightly more exhilarating.
Those are my favorite kind of weekends. I try and make them happen as often as possible.
Me too! Too bad that doesn’t ever happen!
ball concoction? recipe?! LOVE weekends when no plans are involved!!
haha I’ll get one up soon - it’s honestly so simple that I feel weird even making up a recipe! lol
I’m not sure if I’m the only one who noticed how ADORABLE your slippers are!!!
Chels. It hasn’t snowed yet where I am in Chicago.
Booooooo.
me neither. They lied!!!
I especially love the Match.com ad above your weather for the week
Glad you had such a relaxing weekend! I spent mine doing pretty much the same thing. There’s nothing that beats going with the flow and relaxing!!
haha I liked the ad too!
I had a pretty relaxing weekend too - it was glorious! Nail painting? Check. Lazy tv watching? Check. Reading? Check. Glad we both got some much-needed rest! I am jealous of your TJs trip though…
It’s not a weekend complete without going to TJ’s!
The ball concoction as you call it looks good, you should share the recipe
Sounds like a good weekend and you got your run in, good woman!
Sounds like a fantastic weekend (a little similar to mine!) Sometimes, no plans are the best plans.
Agreed.
I worked this weekend, but I think that I might just turn today and tomorrow (my “weekend”) into a mini-replica of yours. It sounds like it was idyllic!! Hopefully it put you a good mood to conquer the week with boundless energy!!
Love weekends where there is nothing to focus on but what I want to focus on!! And is that an Essie nail polish? What color? I bought one this weekend that looks identical to what you’re wearing!
It’s actually CoverGirl! I bought it on clearance last year!
I saw that moview We need to talk about Kevin!! It is so disturbing!! I didn’t know it was a book until after but I don’t know that I will be able to read it! I love weekends with no plans!
Um yes, definitely disturbing!!
Gotta love those occasional weekends with nothing on the agenda! So far so good for this coming weekend for us.
Yay!
That’s a beautiful sunrise photo!
Ummm …. hate to be the one to point it out but since you’re probably teaching math in your classroom … you actually stopped your run 0.07 miles short of 3 miles, not 0.08!
Lol, ummm yuup! Definitely did. And I didn’t teach math until an hour later than you commented.
That’s what not proofreading will get me!
I love a good weekend without any serious plans. Unfortunately, I usually put things off during the week so that they end up piled up by the time the weekend rolls around and I have to devote a good chun of my day to running errands and cleaning
Sundays are always wonderfully lazy though
haha! I never want to do any errand running and cleaning during the week by the time I get home and make/clean up dinner!
“Some sort of ball concoction” - ha! I want a recipe! I’m excited to hear what you have to say about that book. I just have a feeling that since you liked it, I will also like it. That’s the way it seems to work with you and I and our reading.
eeeek - I’ll write a review tomorrow. I think you’d like it, but it is NOT a light and happy book. at all.
Your leopard moccasins are so cute!! I just love animal print! Also, your dinner from Saturday night looks delicious. What is it?
My cheesy chickpea quinoa!
In St. Louis they were calling for a tiny bit of snow last night but when I looked out of the window this morning there was none…I was bummed. I can’t believe it is already time to think about snow. This year has gone by so fast!
We had none as well. I’m a little sad.
yay snow! we had snow last week.. it was nice
I want to read that book! Please do write a review!
I will - it’ll be up tomorrow!
Hahahaha…”Hi. Are you single?”
I noticed that on my app yesterday and it totally made me laugh seeing it on yours
haha! I know, right?
oh how fun! I can only wish it snowed here in socal, but I think the nice Fall weather is still very much welcomed in my opinion, until I see now on everyone else’s blog!
Have a great Monday Chelsey!
It didn’t snow here last night like it was supposed to!
I read that book either freshman year of high school or 8th grade in middle school… intense book, for sure!
oh wow - I can’t imagine reading it then! I’d be freaking out going to school.
your getting snow??
my girls were asking about snow this morning but we usualy dnt get any. but since it seems like we may we in for a cold winder just mabye we will get a lil bit this year!
We didn’t get any. ::tear::
How is the new Whole Foods? Is parking horrendous? I am so pumped that when I’m home in December I can go!!!
It’s actually not too bad! The parking lot isn’t as bad as I thought it would be!
So jealous about your relaxing weekend. Mine started at 6am Saturday and didn’t stop until 9pm last night. I didn’t do much of anything today!
Hopefully you get a chance to slow down next weekend!
I love weekends with nothing to do! Sadly, they’re few and far between during the school year, but it looks like you made the most out of yours!
This sounds a lot like my weekend too-relaxing with no real agenda, which was much needed after parent/teacher conferences the week before!
My husband actually just watched the movie this weekend. I only saw the end, but I can’t imagine watching (or reading like you did) the whole thing. Just what I saw was incredibly disturbing!
The end is the most disturbing part!
ahhh that sunrise! Favorite.
Glad you had a relaxing weekend, and can’t wait to hear your book review!
Love those bars, loved that book! It’s so intense, but so powerful and intense. Oh my gosh, I thought about it for days after. Did you know it’s a movie now? Obviously not as good as the book, but it was interesting to compare the two. Looks like you had a great weekend! Eats with the bestie is always a good time!
Yeah I’m quite interested in seeing the movie!
It snowed where I live haha! That means hot chocolate everyday…
