1. I never meant to leave you all for three days, but that’s just what happens when the holidays start. Sorry I’m not sorry.
2. How was everyone’s Thanksgiving? Mine was excellent – we spent time with both families and stuffed ourselves silly. In a little bit we’re going back over to my aunt’s for leftovers which is a tradition we’ve had in my family for as long as I can remember!
3. Are you a Black Friday shopper? I certainly am. I typically wake up really early to go, but we didn’t need any big ticket items this year. Instead I just went out when I woke up around 7:30 and had all of my shopping done by 11:00 AM. Best thing ever.
4. Did you know it is now socially acceptable for me to listen to Christmas music 24/7 until December 26th?!?! My husband does not appreciate this.
5. We’ve had quite a week in the baby department in my family. John’s brother and sister in law had Henrietta on Monday, and his cousin Summer had her baby on Wednesday, Bella Lou! There will definitely not be a shortage of babies to hold at Christmas! #love
6. Did I mention that sometimes I use Black Friday as an excuse to get myself a lil’ somethin’ somethin’? I ended up with a new table runner and holiday pillows for the home. For me, I got a new sweater and a new pea coat (my old one doesn’t exactly fit anymore – boooo.).
7. I haven’t decorated yet like I thought I was going to. ::tear:: Looks like tomorrow will be filled with tree decorating!
8. With that, have a great weekend and beginning to the holiday season!
Happy Friday!

I want to see your new pea coat!
so jealous of all the festivities…we hold off until December for Christmas decorations here in Ireland..need to get my shopping at least started though! have a great weekend!
Black Friday sales started on Monday here in Canada (mostly to keep people in the country and not venturing to yours! Have to say, I don’t think it worked … anyway!!), and I used the massive discounts to buy a new coat too. I love it!!
My Dad says that I’m allowed to start listening to Christmas music all the time, but I can’t start singing with it until 10 days before Christmas. Add in Christmas itself and Boxing Day, I get 12 days of Christmas singing (which is what I’m REALLY looking forward to, and what he’s dreading most seeing as I’m a terrible singer). It’s quite gracious of him, and I’m thankful!
Hope you have your favourite Pandora stations all lined up!!
Love that you’re already decorating for Christmas! I can’t convince my parents to jump on that bandwagon… wish I could! We don’t get a tree until the week before Christmas and lights go up around the same time. For some reason they aren’t as festive as me. Boo. I went black Friday shopping too… for myself. #Sorrynotsorry?
I didn’t go crazy for Black Friday this year either. My mom and I had the intentions of going out at 8 or 9 pm last night, but when we saw that there really weren’t any AMAZING deals that we needed, we ended up changing our plans and headed out around 7:30 this morning. It was much more relaxed and I didn’t feel rushed!
Enjoy tonight! What a great tradition. I meant to decorate today too, but it never happened. This weekend it is.
Definitely no Black Friday shopping for me. We don’t even have an official Black Friday up here in Canada, but the malls here were absolutely packed anyways. I can’t deal with long lines and crazy crowds so I’m hiding out at home tonight.
You are so much braver than I. I stayed far away from all things commercial related today. And I seriously have no idea what is wrong with me, but I am just not into the Christmas spirit this year. I think I’m not ready to accept it yet. All of the Christmas music today started to make me dread winter. Ugh, I need to snap out of it and bake some damn cookies already!
Even in Canada, Black Friday is too much for me…I’d rather hide out at home.
Bella Lou? That might be the absolute cutest name for a baby I’ve ever heard.
I ONLY used Black Friday to get myself a little somethin’ somethin’. Concern?
I did all my Black Friday shopping online and rewarded myself with a new pair of boots for 70% off! It seems like retailers need to keep their online deals for non-big ticket items competitive with the crazy in-store sales. I’m looking for a holiday runner for our table too. Any suggestions for where to look?
I had an amazing Thanksgiving. It was the first year I didn’t spend a single second feeling awkward or annoyed!
Sticking to home is awesome. I don’t shop at the sales on Black Friday, mostly because I’m not insane. I mean…lol
Glad you enjoyed your Thanksgiving!! I can’t believe you can get through all those crowds. Even though Canada barely celebrates Black Friday I can’t handle the malls. Oh man, those crowds make me anxious I’d rather just pay full price ha. Yay for babies, I can’t wait for people around me to have kids, I just adore them! Have a great weekend!
I love when I can listen to christmas music again! It puts me in such a good mood!
Black Friday isn’t quite as big of a deal here in Canada, but I still wish I’d had a chance to make it out to the malls! Unfortunately I was stuck in class and in a group project meeting all day.
Have a great weekend Chels!
Yay for new clothes! I got a new coat yesterday too. My current one is probably five years old, and I’m embarrassed to say it is stained and has buttons falling off of it.
I am very excited that Christmas music is socially acceptable now. Come to think of it, my husband probably isn’t too thrilled either
Yay for itty bitty babies to hold at Christmas time!! : )
ok, so I just finished “We need to talk about Kevin”. Wow. Intense. Didn’t see that ending coming! I was intrigued by the Book. Thanks for the recommendation Chelsey! What are you reading now?
