fun facts friday

January 11, 2013

1. Bachelor brackets. Go get ‘em ladies! (and gents)

2. Remember how I vowed to eat more veggies on Wednesday? I can happily say that I fulfilled my goal with Wednesday night’s dinner.

3. You know what I want right now? Guacamole. Like a pound of it. I have the avocados – I’m missing the cilantro (aka: the best part of guac). I think a Chipotle meal should be in order today. ::cough cough:: mom ::cough cough:: I’m blaming the fact that I love Chipotle so much on my mother who craved Mexican food when she was pregnant with me. My taste buds were just born for it.

4. I am not kidding you when I tell you that I almost cried last night when I ate the last pickle in the jar. I neeeeeeeed to go get more.

5. This weekend definitely snuck up on me. The week flew by! I guess that’s what happens when you’re thrown back into a busy schedule. I definitely needed it though. I’m one of those freaks that thrive on structure.

6. Did you hear that the other day was the 320th day without snow? That makes today the 322nd day without snow in Chicago. What the heck, universe. What the heck.

8. I have not eaten oatmeal all week long. I really don’t even know who I am anymore. I have been eating nothing but eggs in the morning, and I kind of like it. However, I”m missing my bowl. I think I’m going to have to put an end to this tonight.

9. One of my favorite wedding pics – just for kicks.

10. Go watch Colleen’s video blog. She made it just for meeee (only because I nagged her enough). Please enjoy it. That girl makes me laugh.

11. 4 (now 5) of my points have been about food today. I guess I’m pretty passionate about it.

12. It’s the weekend – happy Friday!

omg . . . I woke up this morning to 50°F . . . it’s heaven!!! The Chicagoland area may now stand a chance for me staying now. Because otherwise, it’s about this time of year, all bundled up and digging my car out of tons of snow, when I swear up and down that I hate Chicago winters! :) I fully intend on enjoying this weather later today and tomorrow! Happy Friday!

Linz @ Itz Linz January 11, 2013 at 7:18 am

I’ve been eating eggs almost every day, too. However, I’ve been eating oatmeal as a snack! haha

Can’t beat Mexican food… And yes, I’d have to agree with you that cilantro NEEDS to be in guac. You can take some of our snow. I’m kind of over it this year.

Colleen @ The Lunchbox Diaries January 11, 2013 at 7:34 am

You’re so right - cilantro is the best part! Thanks for the video link up! I’m glad you liked it! :)

Love the looks of your dinner. I haven’t had anything green in two days or so and I am dying. I’ve been holding off on going grocery shopping until the weekend and living off what I have. The worst. But now that you put Chipotle in my head, maybe I’ll just get a big salad for dinner…with guac.

Hannah @ CleanEatingVeggieGirl January 11, 2013 at 7:37 am

LOVE Chipotle. So simple, fast, and easy…and SO delicious. Thanks a lot, now you have got me craving it too! ;)

I am getting pretty disappointed about this no snow thing, too. Where in the world has winter gone? I have pretty much given up on having a winter and am starting to get an itch for spring time.

Love wedding pics! I think I’ll be posting mine for years to come. Haha!

I’ve been eating eggs and oats for breakfast almost every morning - the best of both worlds!

Reply

Katie @ Peace Love & Oats January 11, 2013 at 7:52 am

Haha I’ve been eating eggs every morning too. And WE SHOULD DO A BACHELOR BRACKET! Yes? Okay, good.

Tessa @ Amazing Asset January 11, 2013 at 8:09 am

Awww that is a pretty picture, you’re looking lovely :) Eggs for breakfast has been a choice of mine recently as well! And at dinner too… hmm I am experiencing a hankering it seems!
Have a nice weekend Chelsey

The third page has different episodes and how many girls get a rose. You and your friends fill them out like you would a sports bracket and whoever wins takes home the prize!

Carly @ Snack Therapy January 11, 2013 at 8:34 am

I wished I worked in an office so I could make everyone do a Bachelor Bracket with me.

Guac is always a good idea. Minus the cilantro for me!

Tracey Brown January 11, 2013 at 8:39 am

I am wondering if you are pregnant Chelsey! Crying over pickles? Craving eggs? Sounds like a baby girl in your future. I hope it’s true if the timing is right for you and husband and you are both ready. :)

Love love love cilantro. I put fresh cilantro and fresh basil on my sandwich wraps all the time. They make foods seem so freshy and summery and are a great break from traditional lettuce which is crappy this time of year.

I’m writing you from Ottawa Ontario Canada and we have a record snow year this year. There are two feet on my roof and I am worried that I’ll have ice damning this weekend with the little melt that is scheduled.

cleaneatingchelsey January 11, 2013 at 9:12 am

While I would loooooove for that to be true, no I am not pregnant. :)

Kristen @ notsodomesticated January 11, 2013 at 3:07 pm

I thought the same thing when I read this post. If you aren’t pregnant, I’ll be curious what kinds of foods you crave when you are! ;)

Love that pic of you and the hubs! And I’d be more than willing to send you some of the snow we’ve got around here. I don’t think we’ve ever had a winter without snow, but I’d sure love to know what it’s like #wishfulthinking

Molly@This Life Is Sparkling January 11, 2013 at 9:39 am

My Monday/Friday posts also usually include a lot about food. I guess us bloggers just like talking about it ;) And I’m getting Chipotle for lunch today with a friend. Super excited. I hope you get your’s too!

why are the tortilla chips at chipotle so good? is it the seasoning? is it the hint of lime? is it the fact that they are warm? (maybe all of the above…?)

Rachel January 11, 2013 at 9:53 am

omg that picture is so adorable!! And I totally need more veggies in my diet this weekend lol been slacking

Hayley @ Running on Pumpkin January 11, 2013 at 10:03 am

I haven’t had oatmeal in like two weeks and I didn’t realize that until I just read this post. Wtf? I also love Mexican food so much but don’t eat it as often now that I don’t live in Souther California. However, I despise guacamole. I know, I know, it’s sad.

Reply

Lisa January 11, 2013 at 10:22 am

We haven’t had any snow at all this year! It makes me so sad, I mean living in Canada you’d assume we’d have snow, but sadly not. I think it’s been at least a year and a half. I like the looks of all those veggies, yum. I’ve been craving brussels sprouts like mad.

Passionate about food January 11, 2013 at 11:16 am

I crave veggies and eat tons during the day but then I wake up late night and eat a bunch of nuts grains sweets ect. How do you know if you are getting enough during the day so I can decide if I can ignore my mid-night hunger or if I was just full from veggies before and need more substantial food later?

Kerry @ Totes My Oats January 11, 2013 at 12:01 pm

I LOVE snow so that makes me sad it’s been that long for Chicago!

That’s a gorgeous wedding pic :)

1 - there really is nothing better than Mexican food. Esp guacamole, but sadly I’m one of those people who just can’t stand cilantro.
2 - I look forward to your Fun Fact Friday every week! Keep them coming!

Have a great weekend.

Yay Bachelor brackets! Thanks for the link up :) I’m glad I’m not the only crazy one that only watches the Bachelor because I love trying to predict it. I’ve won 2/3 seasons I’ve done them (Ben picking Courtney ruined my game) but I’m hoping my winning streak continues!! ;)

Devon @ Health in Equilibrium January 11, 2013 at 3:23 pm

There is just something about pickles that make my heart beat a little faster. They take cucumbers and make them a million times better! I can’t agree on the cilantro thing though. Either you love it or you hate it and I am a definite cilantro-hater :(

What do you mean about it being 320th day without snow… It snowed like twice in the past month, no? I saw it! Lol

Reply

cleaneatingchelsey January 11, 2013 at 5:09 pm

haha i guess they meant “measurable snow” as in at least 1 inch.

That is an incredibly sweet wedding photo. Awww :)

I’m still a little bummed that I was at my all-time highest weight for my wedding. I want to renew our vows on our 10th anniversary so I can have some awesome pictures!

Jessica @ Prayers and Apples January 11, 2013 at 9:32 pm

that’s so weird! i fell off the oatmeal wagon too.. i’ve been all about scrambled egg whites w/spinach and flaxseed.. i get like that though: i tend to eat the same foods over and over again then switch to something different.. i’m like u: i love structure (i just need to work on adding a lil variety!).. happy friday! :)

Reply

Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin January 12, 2013 at 7:28 am

I want guacamole too! Except I hate making it because then I have to go buy fresh cilantro, which usually ends up sitting in my fridge until it goes bad haha. I’m terrible at remembering to use up ingredients.

Have a great weekend!
