January 29, 2013

Happy Tuesday everyone! This week is a little weird for me, but I’m going to take it. I don’t have class tonight because my professor is out of the country (woohoo!). I still had an extra assignment to do, which I didn’t mind too much since I completed it while I was doing my required readings anyway. Plus, we only have four days of school this week as Friday is an institute day. I never know how to feel about institute days. It’s one day less that I have to plan, but they can also be hit or miss. Hopefully this one is good!

You all know I’m quite the sucker for a good survey. I saw this one over at Ashley’s last week, and I figured I had to find a day where I could fit it in. They’re too much fun! (and they satisfy the 13 year old in me)

Currently…

Current Book(s):

I am in a book rut right now because I am refusing to buy any books for a while. That leaves me with books I can find for free or books that I can find on my mom’s kindle (she lends me hers since she has her iPad to read on). I’ve been reading a lot for my class right now. It is a boatload of reading.

Current Music:

K-Love!

I love Contemporary Christian music. It just puts me in a good mood for the day. Plus I swear I can relate all the songs to situations that are going on in my life which is nice. It’s like my own little worship time in the car every day.

Current Guilty Pleasure:

Sour Patch Kids. I wish I was lying. I’ve been craving the sourness of them and my after dinner chocolate has been replaced with a few of the little guys. Hey, us clean eaters can live a little too ya know.

Current Nail Color:

Nothing! I did have them painted a deep purple/black cherry color a few weeks ago, but it chipped pretty quickly.

Current Drink:

A lot of water!

Current Food:

Well, I don’t have anything in my mouth right now, but I can tell you the foods I’ve been loving lately.

  • eggs
  • mexican
  • avocados
  • hummus and tri-color chips
  • apples
  • grapefruit
  • anything with salt

Current Favorite Show:

Oh that is a hard one. I really love Parenthood, but since it’s over for the season, I’m going to count that one out. Downton Abbey has been playing on my TV every Sunday night (the husband won’t admit it but I know he loves it).

source

Plus I have been watching How I Met Your Mother almost every day on Netflix. It’s so so funny!

Current Wish List:

I’m actually pretty content at the moment. Life is good! :)

Current needs:

Some new pants

Current Bane of My Existence:

Waking up every single freaking night from 2-4 AM. The couch has become my friend to watch TV or read.

Current Celebrity Crush:

Oh Matthew Crawley – how your British accent makes me love you even more.

Current Indulgence:

Well, if you don’t count my love of a few Sour Patch Kids on a daily basis an indulgence, then really nothing else lately.

Current Blessing:

My husband! :)

Current Slang:

Umm, I don’t think I use slang words too often. If I do, I’m unaware of it. But speaking of slang, sometimes I feel like my kids speak in code. Have I become one of those old fogies that doesn’t understand the vernacular of the youngins?

source

Current Outfit:

Sweatpants, a big cozy shirt, and one of the Husband’s sweatshirts

Current Excitement:

Counting down the days until I get to meet my niece!! My brother in law and his wife are coming in for a family wedding next Friday and I FINALLY get to meet her!

Current Link:

Spoilers all about Sunday’s Downton Abbey episode. Plus the writing is pretty funny.

Question: Care to share any of your “currents”?

I have not yet seen Downton Abbey though I keep hearing rave reviews. I’ve been loving this dark chocolate Mexican style or something like that - its in a pink wrapper in a puck like form from trader joes - so good!!

Ooo - that chocolate sounds delicious!

Okay I can’t help but ask…”my brother in law and his wife”—your sister??

Have a great Tursday!

Reply

cleaneatingchelsey January 29, 2013 at 6:11 am

haha! no! It’s my husband’s brother - which makes him my brother in law and her his wife. But that would be absolutely hilarious if it was y sister and I was referring to her that way! haha!

Ooooooh yeaaah. Why could my brain not process that scenario?? It was early in the morning. haha :-)

The first few seasons of HIMYM are the best…the show is absolutely terrible now though, so enjoy those funny episodes!
p.s. I have this hunch about something that’s going on with you…I don’t mean for that to sound as creepy as it does, but I don’t want to say what I’m thinking, it’s just a hunch… :)

I’m in season 4 right now, and I still think it’s funny. I hope I continue to think so! Haha - everyone has that “hunch” about every other day with me. Sorry!

I totally get where you are coming from when it comes to reading for leisure outside of school work. I just finished my Master’s degree and I am now finally able to read books that are my choice and that I can read for fun. It is such a strange feeling. I am just now getting back into it, and it feels like it has been forever since I have read a book for fun. Don’t get me wrong, I am loving it! :)

Ooooo Sour Patch Kids!! I haven’t had those in ages, but they are SO good, especially the orange and red ones. I think I need to get my hands on a package of those ;) .
