Happy Tuesday everyone! This week is a little weird for me, but I’m going to take it. I don’t have class tonight because my professor is out of the country (woohoo!). I still had an extra assignment to do, which I didn’t mind too much since I completed it while I was doing my required readings anyway. Plus, we only have four days of school this week as Friday is an institute day. I never know how to feel about institute days. It’s one day less that I have to plan, but they can also be hit or miss. Hopefully this one is good!
You all know I’m quite the sucker for a good survey. I saw this one over at Ashley’s last week, and I figured I had to find a day where I could fit it in. They’re too much fun! (and they satisfy the 13 year old in me)
Currently…
Current Book(s):
I am in a book rut right now because I am refusing to buy any books for a while. That leaves me with books I can find for free or books that I can find on my mom’s kindle (she lends me hers since she has her iPad to read on). I’ve been reading a lot for my class right now. It is a boatload of reading.
Current Music:

I love Contemporary Christian music. It just puts me in a good mood for the day. Plus I swear I can relate all the songs to situations that are going on in my life which is nice. It’s like my own little worship time in the car every day.
Current Guilty Pleasure:
Sour Patch Kids. I wish I was lying. I’ve been craving the sourness of them and my after dinner chocolate has been replaced with a few of the little guys. Hey, us clean eaters can live a little too ya know.
Current Nail Color:
Nothing! I did have them painted a deep purple/black cherry color a few weeks ago, but it chipped pretty quickly.
Current Drink:
A lot of water!
Current Food:
Well, I don’t have anything in my mouth right now, but I can tell you the foods I’ve been loving lately.
- eggs
- mexican
- avocados
- hummus and tri-color chips
- apples
- grapefruit
- anything with salt
Current Favorite Show:
Oh that is a hard one. I really love Parenthood, but since it’s over for the season, I’m going to count that one out. Downton Abbey has been playing on my TV every Sunday night (the husband won’t admit it but I know he loves it).

Plus I have been watching How I Met Your Mother almost every day on Netflix. It’s so so funny!
Current Wish List:
I’m actually pretty content at the moment. Life is good!
Current needs:
Some new pants
Current Bane of My Existence:
Waking up every single freaking night from 2-4 AM. The couch has become my friend to watch TV or read.
Current Celebrity Crush:
Oh Matthew Crawley – how your British accent makes me love you even more.

Current Indulgence:
Well, if you don’t count my love of a few Sour Patch Kids on a daily basis an indulgence, then really nothing else lately.
Current Blessing:
My husband!
Current Slang:
Umm, I don’t think I use slang words too often. If I do, I’m unaware of it. But speaking of slang, sometimes I feel like my kids speak in code. Have I become one of those old fogies that doesn’t understand the vernacular of the youngins?
Current Outfit:
Sweatpants, a big cozy shirt, and one of the Husband’s sweatshirts
Current Excitement:
Counting down the days until I get to meet my niece!! My brother in law and his wife are coming in for a family wedding next Friday and I FINALLY get to meet her!
Current Link:
Spoilers all about Sunday’s Downton Abbey episode. Plus the writing is pretty funny.
Question: Care to share any of your “currents”?

I have not yet seen Downton Abbey though I keep hearing rave reviews. I’ve been loving this dark chocolate Mexican style or something like that - its in a pink wrapper in a puck like form from trader joes - so good!!
Ooo - that chocolate sounds delicious!
Okay I can’t help but ask…”my brother in law and his wife”—your sister??
Have a great Tursday!
haha! no! It’s my husband’s brother - which makes him my brother in law and her his wife. But that would be absolutely hilarious if it was y sister and I was referring to her that way! haha!
Ooooooh yeaaah. Why could my brain not process that scenario?? It was early in the morning. haha
The first few seasons of HIMYM are the best…the show is absolutely terrible now though, so enjoy those funny episodes!
p.s. I have this hunch about something that’s going on with you…I don’t mean for that to sound as creepy as it does, but I don’t want to say what I’m thinking, it’s just a hunch…
I’m in season 4 right now, and I still think it’s funny. I hope I continue to think so! Haha - everyone has that “hunch” about every other day with me. Sorry!
Haha, I was thinking the exact same thing, Danica, but I didn’t want to say it
!
I love Chris Tomlin! My guilty pleasure is almond butter, everyday, everyday! I have yet to watch Downton Abbey. Maybe I should?
You definitely should. It’s such a great show!
I am currently eating a breakfast of an English muffin with this yummy (new?) coconut peanut butter by Earth Balance. I am currently reading The Good Soldiers by David Finkel.
Oooo coconut peanut butter? Yum!
Those Downton spoilers are SO funny. Definitely helped me laugh after watching the episode on DVR!
Ugh, I know. I’m still mourning.
I love sour patch kids too! Especially those little ones that look like watermelons. And I totally agree with you about not understanding thr stand kids use now…especially online.
My husband loves the little watermelon ones!
Ha, surveys speak to my inner thirteen year-old too. Gosh, I feel like the only person who hasn’t seen that tv series yet. Better get on it, eh?
YES!
HAHA Love me some KLOVE! Just started reading your blog
Waking up could be to do with your blood sugar dipping…make sure to choose low GI options (high fibre low sugar with protein or fat) in the evenings.
My mum has or should I say had the same problem until she made some changes!
I think it was because I was hungry actually. I hadn’t been eating a snack before bed like I normally do. I ate one last night and slept through the night!
I really enjoy K-Love too! I have XM in my car and The Message is my go-to during my morning drives to work
Current show is the bachelor, current indulgence are Valentine’s Day Peanut M&M’s (dangerous!)!
My mom listens to the Message!
Enjoy your day without class! Current excitement: two weeks today until we leave for holidays in Thailand and china! Current slang: totes instead of totally. Each time I hear myself say it I cring a little!
That trip sounds really fun!
Sooo many people I know watch downton abbey! I may need to look into it. My current cravings have been hot sandwiches and fruits of all kind!
That egg sandwich looks awesome and yay for Parenthood!
Currently, my boyfriend and I are obsessed with Homeland- we flew through Season 1 in a matter of days and are now starting Season 2…
I hate to be a copy cat but my current blessing is my husband as well! Not sure how I got so lucky but glad I did!
Yay for husbands!!
OMG I’ve been listening to k-love too!!!!! I didn’t know you could listen on your phone though! And I have SO MANY books you can borrow!
Yes! There’s an app - I love it! I always listen to it on my walks.
Ok I seriously need to start watching Downton Abby!
For some reason I’ve never been a fan of Sour Patch Kids… I’m all about the Swedish Berries.
Are sweedish fish like sweedish berries?
I think so! We don’t have Swedish Fish here though.
I totally get where you are coming from when it comes to reading for leisure outside of school work. I just finished my Master’s degree and I am now finally able to read books that are my choice and that I can read for fun. It is such a strange feeling. I am just now getting back into it, and it feels like it has been forever since I have read a book for fun. Don’t get me wrong, I am loving it!
Ooooo Sour Patch Kids!! I haven’t had those in ages, but they are SO good, especially the orange and red ones. I think I need to get my hands on a package of those
.
Enjoy your leisurely book reading time!!
I really didn’t want to get hooked on Downton Abbey, but I am! Also, watched all of How I Met Your Mother that’s available on Netflix, and am trying to find out how to watch the current season starting on episode 1….it’s addicting and hilarious!
Have you looked on the website that it airs on? Or on hulu?
My grad school classes this semester have a TON of reading and writing. I’m thinking I won’t have any time to read a book for fun until this semester ends. My current splurge has been 2 am cookies, something about late night studying gives me huge cookie cravings. I know, need to work on this.
Nothing wrong with those cookie cravings!
surveys are fun! my post today has a bunch of questions too
..sour patch kids = amazingness! let’s see, one of my currents… i’m currently obsessed with spinach, which is possibly the most random obsession i’ve ever had lol
I love kale - does that count as a weird obsession too?
I’m still getting caught up with Downton Abbey (just started season 3) but oh goodness - I’m completely obsessed. Such an amazing show!
I LOVE me some Downton. I was pretty sad this week though!! Also, don’t google anything Downton or you might see the spoilers for the rest of the season like I did
I didn’t know that it had already aired in England!
It was SOOO sad. I think I saw a spoiler on google images when I went to go find that picture. Darn it!
uhh Downton Abbey, I cannot believe they did that too us!! I could really go for a grapefruit and sour patch kids right about now..
My best friend just instagrammed a pic of sour patches…so now you both having me craving them!!
Feel free to give in to the craving at any time!
Currently loving the 65°F!!! And also sorta freaked out about it. How WEIRD is this weather?!?
I have a hunch too…
Everyone has had that hunch about me on and off for the last 2.5 years on this blog. Sorry to disappoint.
see if your local library lends books for kindle
They do!
Downton Abbey and Matthew Crawley…totally on the same page with you there! Also I love your current outfit haha, me everyday as soon as I walk into my house!
Yeah, we are sweats people the second we walk through the door after work!
Never seen Downtown Abbey, but I am currently obsessed with the tv show Person Of Interest!
I love HIMYM! Neil Patrick Harris is just too funny. That show always puts a smile on my face.
Surveys bring me back to my Myspace days. Good times
. By boyfriend is a Sour Patch Kid fiend. I think he’s had about every flavor out there, including the Sour Patch Popsicles. Yes, there is such a thing. (And yes, they’re delicious.)
So your food cravings are scarily similar to my exact diet. LoL. Can’t wait to see you again soon!!! xoxo
Yay Saturday!!!
Ok, it’s official, I have to try Downtown Abbey! I’m also a huge HIMYM fan, although Ted needs to meet the mother SOON!
I love me some K-LOVE too - it’s so uplifting and puts me in a good mood. I do have to take a break from it occasionally though because they often play the same stuff over and over again. Enjoy those Sour Patch Kids.
Didn’t read through all the commoners, but have you ever heard of Paperbackswap.com? You get credits for posting and sending books to others, and then you use those credits to get new books! Great way to clean out the bookshelf and gets new ones! You do pay to ship the book, but it’s usually less than $3 with media mail. I love it!
I haven’t - that sounds awesome!!
Omg I didn’t realize my phone corrected commenters to commoners, whoops!
Love surveys too! I did this same one today over on my blog. Your current excitement is pretty darn exciting! I can’t compete with a new baby, but I am very excited for 2 Summer vacations to Flordia this year. Hope your week is great!
I mentioned a similar complaint to my doctor (about sleep patterns) and she referred me to a naturopath (knowing I wouldnt take prescription sleeping/relaxing drugs). The naturopath gave me a magnesium supplement called Magneleuvres. It is AMAZING!
That’s a good idea - thanks!
No more pickles on your list of current favorite foods? Or do they fall under the ‘anything with salt’ category?
Current bane of my existence - cold weather. It’s -27C here today and when I walked outside this morning, I thought my nose was going to fall off.
They falll under the salt category! Ha!
I LOVEEEEEEE K-LOVE! <3
currently my celeb crush is bradley cooper…and currently my favorite show is the bachelor, I know I am a sucker!
Awww gosh. I love sour patch kids. Love ‘em. I think I need some now…..
I don’t want to upset you, but I read in Entertainment Weekly that “Matthew Crawley” wants this to be his last season on the show….so I”m thinking another sudden illness or old war wound?
It’s devastating, I know. Try to hold it together.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Please don’t say that. WHY? Why would he want to do that to himself?
I’m sorry I had to be the one to tell you. But look on the bright side, now Mary and Edith can start getting along. Oh, wait.
I love that you’re living on the wild side with your sour patch kids! Every road trip I went on in HS I HAD to have some sort of gummies to munch on along the way. Sour worms were on the top, as were sour patch kids!
Current exercise struggle: running. I agreed to do the Color Run in March, and I am soooooooooooo not a running. Give me a set of barbells any day, but running? There had better be a bear chasing me. I’ve started training, and every time I get on the treadmill I curse just a little under my breath. But I am getting a better, so I guess it is worth it.
Someone once told me that sometimes it’s God waking you up at night because He wants to talk to you. Food for thought.
I love KLOVE, but love AIR1 more! (They are sister stations.). Love your blog!
Love that!!
Ohh no books!? They get so expensive! Have you ever used PaperBackSwap.com? If you are ok with parting with your books, it will be the best discovery! Free books!
I feel the same way about in service days. I’m always excited at first because there’s no kids……then dealing with adults ends up to be worse LOL
I miss KLove. We live in Atlanta now, and the only Christian radio station I can get is called “The Fish,” and unfortunately, they don’t play nearly the selection that KLove does.
If you’re ever in the Atlanta area, you need to come to my church! Chris Tomlin, Kristian Stanfill, and Christy Nockels are our worship leaders.
You would love it!
what types of books do you like?! Have you read Three Cups of Tea?
I am a huge Contemporary Christian music fan! Have you heard Meredith Andrews song, Not for a Moment?? Love it!
I’m also into a British show, MidSomer Murders! I totally want to walk around with a British accent all of the time!
Hi! First of all, your blog makes me happy. Second of all, I need to start watching Downtown Abbey. Everyone, literally everyone has been telling me lately it’s a show I NEEED to watch. Right now, I’m watching and slightly obsessed with both How I Met Your Mother & New Girl. I’ve watched every single episode. Some multiple times. And I cannot get enough. I also enjoyed hearing that you like to listen to contemporary christian music as well! I love David Crowder Band, LaRue, Switchfoot, and lately I’ve been into Tree63.
Thanks for sharing!!
Buena Beef has GF flatbread?? Good to know!
OK I LOVE klove! Literally, every song I listened to yesterday was exactly what I needed to hear. I kept trying to remember the songs and the minute I went to itunes, I totally blanked on everything. I also love Parenthood, I probably cry every time. I will have to check out Downtown Abbey, I keep hearing good things about it!
