fun facts friday

February 15, 2013

1. You might be noticing things are looking a little different around here as of yesterday. I actually switched over to GLAM for my ads, and my blog guru Ryan (life safer!!!) worked some things out for me. Thanks Ryan!

2. I told the Husband I wanted nothing for Valentine’s Day. Instead, all I wanted was for him to take care of dinner. I didn’t care if that meant he cooked or he brought something home, but I did not want to leave my house or get out of my pajamas. Sexy, right? He brought me home a Mexican feast from one of our favorite local Mexican joints. It was deeeeelicious!!!

3. Is anyone else ready for this weekend? I’m surprised it’s Friday, but man oh man was it a looooong week. Every night I collapsed onto the couch and wondered if I would be able to wake myself up the next morning! So so excited for the weekend.

4. I have a LOT of fun dates planned this weekend! Okay two – but still. Tonight Katie and I are going for sushi and frozen yogurt in the city. Tomorrow I’m meeting Lauren for brunch. Woohoo!

5. Speaking of Katie, she sent me the cutest little Valentine’s Day card in the mail and I got it yesterday. Thanks Katie!

6. I love being a teacher. Seriously. I cashed in on one of my many perks yesterday – Valentine’s Day. Gifts of chocolate pour moi? Don’t mind if I do. One little boy gave me a Reese’s heart that must weight about a pound. Another girl gave me a large assortment of filled chocolates. I was in heaven… and a sugar coma.

7. What chocolate do you always wish for when you get those assorted chocolates? I hate when you pick out one, take a bite of it, and spit it out because it wasn’t a good one. I always go for the chocolate with caramel inside. I picked very carefully yesterday, and on my first pick, I got it! Talk about an accomplishment.

8. Can you believe February is half over!??!?! Where in the world is this school year going? As much as I love my class this year (seriously, they are a bunch of hams. Chatterboxes, but hilarious), I can’t wait to relax and float in a pool this summer!

9. Charlie and I went for a walk for the first time in who knows how long yesterday. It has been waaay too cold around these parts (I can’t go on outside walks blow like 35 degrees) or it has been crappy weather and raining all the time. It was wonderful despite him acting like a crazy dog who has never been on a leash before.

10. It’s the weekend – Happy Friday!!!

Did you get any fun cards like “I”m sweet on you, teacher!” - those always make me laugh :)

I’m curious about GLAM! Maybe I’ll check it out, too :)

Have a wonderful weekend!

Mexican take out sounds like the perfect evening. Sushi and froyo tonight, also sounds perfect!

It sounds like you had a great Valentine’s Day! Low-key celebrations are the best, in my opinion. Mexican restaurant food eaten in sounds perfect!

And no…I cannot believe February is more than half-way over. It’s crazy! But I am not complaining because that means we are that much closer to Spring :) .

I had a feeling your dinner was Mexican. Glad it was so deelish. And chased down with a pound Reese’s heart? Not bad. Hehehe.

Don’t worry. I know you didn’t eat a pound of Reeses’ on top of Mexican. You mus have saved some to send my way, right? ;)

I work at a high school and I LOVE Valentine’s Day! The teachers and the students spoil the heck out of us secretaries!
That Reese’s sounds soooo good! As does your dinner.
Enjoy your weekend! :)

I am somehow not surprised you had Mexican for dinner. You’re my kinda gal. ;) And I think the student that gave you that Reese’s Heart would be my favorite.

I got a lot of cheesy (but cute of course) valentines from my students this week. One that I loved said, “Bee Mine” and it had a bee holding a Burt’s Bees chapstick tube. I thought that was just so cute :)

I hate it when chocolates don’t have a guide that tells you what flavors they are. I always manage to pick the gross ones. My favorite has to be milk chocolate with caramel on the inside.

I get to avoid the assorted chocolate dilemma because I’m allergic to most of them. Blessing in disguise? ;)

Happy Friday!

I am sooo ready for the weekend as well. It’s been a hectic week. A Reese’s that must’ve weighed a pound?! Why didn’t I become a teacher?? Haha. And I always hope for the chocolate with caramel too…the one I spit out is chocolate and cherry. It just weirds me out!

Ashley @ Life and Fitness February 15, 2013 at 10:44 am

I always squish the Chocolates to make sure I find the good caramel ones.

I totally know what you mean about choosing “the one” with the chocolate boxes! It’s like a game of life or death! I shoot for the caramel ones, too- they are the safe ones! I also had mexican last night for v-day ! Hit the spot!

Sushi and froyo? Valentine’s Day in your PJs? I think you and I right in sync as to what constitutes a good time!

Chocolate followed by Mexican food for dinner? Sounds like an awesome Valentine’s Day to me!

I’m going out for sushi tonight too! Good thing - it’s been a month since I last had it and I was about to go into serious withdrawal. :P Have fun with Katie!

I have not ever bit into a bad chocolate, although it’s not because I like them all. It’s because I refuse to take a bite of an unknown chocolate. There better be a guide that came with it, or I’m breaking it in half first. No surprises for me! Ha!
