Ha, I’m glad you got some sushi redemption. Lettuce sushi is just depressing. I was happy to get 3 inches of snow in Charlotte. It was just enough to be pretty, but it’s mostly melted now.

I ran my longest run ever this weekend-15 miles! Woo-hoo!

Emilia February 18, 2013 at 6:46 am

Who on earth wraps sushi in lettuce instead of nori? That is so, so wrong. Looks like you had good redemption with the fro-yo though!
The highlight of my weekend was finally planning a trip to Berlin with my friend. So excited to see an old friend and visit a new country :)

MMmmmm….edamame! Yum!!

Ugh, some restaurants are so great about offering vegetarian menu options and/or adapting options for vegetarians. Others…well, it is as if we are an after thought! :( Sorry to hear that your dinner was a bit disappointing. But hey, at least you had some amazing fro yo to help make up for it. That makes everything better, right?? ;)

Did you dip the celery and carrots in peanut butter too? I’ve never thought to try that!
I love having this long weekend-hope you enjoy your extra day off!!

Yogurtland and PB makes everything better! I actually had Yogurtland this weekend too! Hope your day off is fun!

Enjoy your day off today! Love froyo! Have never seen salted caramel, I will have to try that next time I see it!

Hummus with wheat in it? Weird!
I baked and had a sushi date/belated Valentine’s Day. Pretty fun weekend to me!

Red velvet and salted caramel yogurts sound amazing! A highlight of my weekend was spending time with my family and going out to dinner with my husband! :)

Sushi wrapped in lettuce? Hmmm, I’ve had one roll before that was done like this but it was actually really good. I’ll have to remember that if I ever visit RA - which I’m sure I will. I’ve been on a sushi high since moving here! Glad you had a great weekend!

Looks like you had a great weekend! Puppy stretches are the best… I caught my dog doing a downward dog on my yoga mat one day. It’s still one of my favorite pictures of him ever lol

I’m glad your frozen yogurt made up for the disappointing sushi! Enjoy your day off today! ;)

Got a HUGE leap on my grad school homework AND went to RA, too!

I seriously don’t know how I don’t see you around town. Every place you mention you go to, I live within 5-20 minutes of and go to as well! Of course, you wouldn’t recognize me, because I don’t have a blog, but I would clearly recognize you!! Haha!

Enjoy your Presidents Day!

I’m totally jealous of your sushi/froyo dates!
Wheat in hummus? So not normal.

Meghan @ After the Ivy League February 18, 2013 at 9:40 am

Wheat in your hummus? Who would do that? I’m gonna have to be extra careful next time I buy some so I don’t make the same mistake!

Anna @ Your Healthy Place February 18, 2013 at 12:14 pm

That’s weird…what’s wrong with nori? I hate when restaurants do that lol! I loooove me some nori. I had sushi this weekend too - glad you had sushi redemption at Whole Foods, I often find storebought sushi kinda tough and not that tasty so I’m glad you think WF is good - I’ll try it next time!

Two words. Cinnamon. Buns. Made a batch of homemade ones for the first time ever this weekend and have been in a blissful carb coma since

Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin February 18, 2013 at 5:53 pm

I would have been disappointed to get rolls wrapped in lettuce too! The flavour of nori is half the reason why I love sushi so much. :P But at least you made up for it with fro yo and real sushi!

The highlight of my weekend was going out for breakfast with my parents this morning to celebrate Family Day (its a holiday in Ontario). We haven’t done that together in years!

Lyric February 18, 2013 at 7:24 pm

Fro-yo totally makes up for it, that stuff rocks. The highlight of my weekend was watching way to many episodes of glee and baking some cookies!

Amber K February 18, 2013 at 7:49 pm

I thought it was awesome that my husband had President’s Day off. He almost never has “smaller” holidays off. Especially awesome because I didn’t know he had it off until Friday. So I was super excited to jump into the weekend. We had our nieces and nephews over for the day since they had no school so their parents could get some rest.

That is the saddest sushi I’ve ever seeeeeen. Thank the good Lord for froyo, huh?

I would have been bummed about the lettuce wrapped sushi as well…glad you made up for it with some frozen yogurt! And yay for mondays off! I was able to get snag some deals shopping today which I always love.

Giselle@myhealthyhappyhome February 19, 2013 at 4:12 pm

Lettuce around sushi! What!?! I would have been bummed too! At least you made up for it with Froyo!

Lauren @ Eat Like An Elephant February 19, 2013 at 6:21 pm

That lettuce wrapped sushi would make me so sad! I also had sushi Friday night (as a post-Valentine’s date) and it was heavenly. I sprung for the specialty rolls and they were worth every calorie. And dollar.
