1. Why can’t Chicago get tons of snow like some cities out there? Seriously – this town needs to get its act together. We are forecasted anywhere from 3-7 inches, and in Chicago that does not constitute a snow day. I’m praying for maybe a late start (writing this on Thursday night).
2. Wednesday night I texted my mom about how I really wanted a muffin from OMG It’s Gluten Free (a bakery near us). Yesterday when I visited my sister’s house, my mom had one waiting for me. Woohooo!!! I have the best mom.
3. What are you reading right now? Katie and I did a book swap last week, and I am now reading The Paris Wife. It’s been on my list for a while, but I didn’t want to buy it because I wasn’t sure if I’d like it or not. Pretty good so far!
4. This weekend the bestie and I are going to visit our third roommate from college. I haven’t seen her since last summer, so I am PUMPED!!! Plus I get to snuggle with her cute puppy Rosie. (who apparently is not a puppy anymore and refuses to snuggle)
5. Speaking of pups, Wednesday when I got home from school, Charlie scared the living daylights out of me. He is usually right at the front door the second I get home, so I thought he was with the Husband (he brings him with to work a few days a week). Instead, when I opened our bedroom door, he came barreling out. Eeek! He scared me!
6. Next Friday is March. MARCH!!!! Last March it was 80 degrees. A girl can dream right?
7. Do you want to know what I love? When I go to my sister’s house and Aubrey gets excited that her Aunt Chelsey came over. She (sometimes) lets me give her a kiss hello, but then goes crazy running back and forth to my mom and me, pointing at me and saying “Aunt Chelsey!” (It sounds nothing like that though I can assure you.). Then, to hear her say “I love you” when I leave - I die.
8. Aaaand I’m lame. I’ve got nothing else for you.
9. It’s the weekend – happy Friday!!!

I totally forgot how nice the weather was last March! I’m all excited now. Visiting college roommates is so fun; have a great time
I hear you! The only snow we got here was over Christmas break, and I love snow so I’m not bitter it came then… I just wish it conveniently placed itself when I had class. And then this freezing rain last night did nothing for me… If it’s not going to snow, it needs to get warm *fingers crossed*. Have a great weekend!
Well if you get snow I hope itz during the work week… gotta get at least 1 snow day!! (This is our second….. sorry!)
I’m praying for that 80 degree March again, too! It was FABULOUS! Happy Friday!
I finally got my first legit snow experience of the year and a little bit of “working from home” time. It sure has been nice! I am definitely not looking forward to the clearing off my car part, though :/.
I cannot believe it is almost March. This month has seriously FLOWN by!! If we could get some 80 degree whether (or how about even 60′s) I would SO not be complaining!
Happy Friday to you! I hope you got your delay
.
That warm streak last March was amazing - except it ruined all the apple crops here when temperatures went back to freezing afterwards.
I hope it gets warm in March and stays warm this year!
yayy for it being March and closer to warm weather! I recently read The Paris Wife and forced my way through it I hated it. According to good reads though I was pretty much the only one to hate it ha!
I love OMG! When I visit my mom in Mokena it is one of my must visits!
where HAS this year gone?!!?
Ooooo have a great weekend!!! That sounds like so much fun!
Wowee, you’re right, I can’t believe next Friday is already MARCH! I’m not complaining one bit about that. #7 makes me melt… I’m sure it’s SO cute!
Thanks for reminding me of March. You’re over there wanting snow, and all I can think about is, When’s the sun coming back???
Happy Friday!
i’m seriously hoping for the crazy heat wave we had last March (except it can stick around instead of going cold again)…seriously, that was awesome.
The best part of teaching (okay, one of the best parts) is that this part of the year FLIES by. It’ll be summer before we know it. Once I see March on the calendar, the year is practically over!
I have had the Paris Wife on my list for the library for a while now too. I just saw “The Aviator’s Wife” in a magazine review and that looks good too.
I am currently reading “Before Ever After” By Samantha Sotto - It is really good so far, I would recommend it.
Have a great weekend!
How is February almost over?! This is mind blowing! Although, I definitely can’t complain about the warmer weather. I’m tired of the cold (which is anything under 60 degrees here in California).
Be careful what you wish for! I’m from the upper peninsula of Michigan, and this is the kind of snow we got earlier this week!

(I currrently live in the Ann Arbor area so I didn’t get to experience this first hand haha)
Oh what I wouldn’t give for 80 degrees right now. Heck, I’d even take a day over 30! Have fun this weekend and PLEASE PLEASE let’s catch up when you get back! XOXO
I read The Paris Wife a couple months ago and really enjoyed it. I hope you like it too!
I keep seeing the Paris Wife and wondering if it’s any good….Let us you know how you like it! I always love your book recommendations.
The only thing getting me through this end of winter is remembering that I wore shorts last year on St. Patty’s Day. Less than a month to go!!!
All we are getting over here in mid-Ohio is freezing rain. I’m anti-winter but I’d take two feet of snow over this. Here’s to hoping for a March heatwave!
Awe, your niece sounds precious! How cute!! I love kids.
I feel you on the snow front, ugh I wish my city would get its act together too. I’d like just a little snow!
I read the Paris Wife and wasn’t the biggest fan ever, I’m currently reading Life of Pi. So good so far!
Any surprise gluten free food from my family always makes me happy too! I have a local gf bakery near me that bakes soft choc. chip cookies that seriously taste like the real deal.
Your mom is the cutest! I will keep my fingers crossed for you and the snow. For one, I am glad to not see snow for a change (I’m in Calgary, we get too much of it!)
i’m currently reading “the family fang” by kevin wilson. it’s really good! http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/10149142-the-family-fang
Good luck with the snow and snow day! I’m always shocked at how diverse the weather is around the US, it certainly doesn’t make sense to me that Chicago wouldn’t have snow.
Interesting to hear about The Paris Wife, I’ve been thinking about checking it out for a while and might do so now
Happy weekend!
Can’t lie—— I’m typing this on my snow day. Promise, I’m not trying to rub it it. I’ll cross my fingers that a few will slip in for you before spring sets in!
Hooray for seeing friends from college- I *really* miss a few of mine!!
HAPPY FRIDAY!
As a self-proclaimed summer hater, I’m insanely happy that we’ve had a real winter in Michigan this year!
Crazy how fast time goes! I hope you had a fabulous weekend!
I LOVE it when my nieces and nephews are super excited to see me. Even if I saw them the previous day, they act like I’m Santa. It’s awesome. Although, sometimes I think they wonder where the gifts are…
I exclaimed literally the exact same statement today about March! I remember last St. Pat’s weekend when we strolled around outside and it was all sunshine and green drinks. How about that, please?
Happy weekend! Just wanted to let you know that I tried your lentil sloppy joes recipe last night- SO GOOD! Thank you. My super carnivorous husband adored them.
