1. GAAAAAAH. I am the worst. I totally have forgotten to announce the winner of the Love Grown giveaway all stinking week. Please forgive me! The winner is # 198, Natalie! Congratulations – please email me with your contact information!
2. I loved all of your comments on how to more easily peel hard boiled eggs. I should have prefaced that with the fact that I do the cold water trick. Next time I’m trying boiling them in vinegar. I did try a few of your peeling suggestions yesterday morning, and I was still ridiculously challenged. I think I just need to buy pre peeled eggs.
3. Where are these weeks going?!?! Seriously – I just don’t even believe another week has flown by. 6 more weeks left of school – SIX!
4. Anyone out there planting a vegetable garden this year? I feel like I might be a little overzealous, but I’m going to be planting mine. Hopefully I don’t get put on bed rest or anything because then that will mean I will have to enlist the help of others to do great things like pull weeds. I need to do some major clean up this weekend in my little garden space. I never pulled a lot of stuff out last year. Whoops.
5. I ate mostly Mexican food yesterday – and I was okay with it. I had Chipotle for lunch (a salad, not a burrito bowl) and more bean tacos for dinner. Mmmm.
6. I had to schedule a level two ultrasound for these babies in four weeks. I’m not sure if it’s routine or if it’s just because I’m having twins. I’ve heard they’re looooong (but exciting to see everything!!!). Anyone else have one done before?
7. I have no plans for this weekend. None. I’m kind of loving it.
8. Aaaand, that’s all I have for you today. I’m not too much fun.
Happy Friday!

Sometimes the unplanned weekends turn out to be the best
Enjoy!
A day of a lot of Mexican is totally okay in my book (;
we have six weeks left of school too… i seriously cannot believe it! im looping up to fourth grade with my class next year!
That will be nice since you already know the kids! Hopefully you end up working with a great team who can show you the ropes of 4th grade!
I am glad to hear that Chipotle is coming back into your life, even if it was a salad and not a burrito bowl. I am sure that before you know it you will be craving the bowl again!!
Have a great weekend! We have 7 weeks left in the school year, and this week went by terribly slow, but I think it’s because we had a two week spring break, and the kids were not ready to come back!
two weeks?!!? How come?
We’re on a “balanced” calendar, kind of like year round. They get two weeks off in the fall, two weeks off at Christmas, and two weeks off in the spring, but summer’s a lot shorter. They get out on May 31, and go back on July 31
. I’m not a huge fan, it’s sad that they have to start school so early in the summer!
That’s not too bad! I think that would be kind of nice actually because of my husband’s work schedule! We never have the same time off.
Yeah, I know a lot of people like it! It’s really not bad as an adult, but I just feel like if I were a kid, I would be sad going back to school when most kids don’t have to go back for another month, haha.
I cannot believe summer break is almost here. So excited!
Happy weekend! I love having no plans on the weekend. It means catching up on all my tv shows
That’s what it means to me too!
Unplanned weekends are so needed once in a while!
I would LOVE to plant a vegetable garden. I just dont know If I have room or time to take care of it. I would def plant tomatoes, zucchini and maybe some fruits too.. I have way to many plans thsi weekend and it kind of stresses me out. I like no plan weekends
booo to too many plans!!
I always dream of planting a veggie garden in the summer, and then I remember how much work it is and kind of get scared off. Would be amazing to be able to eat something you grew yourself though.
Happy Friday!
You have 6 weeks of school left and today my kids are home with a snow day! Egads!
Yes, I plant a vegetable garden. This weekend my chore is to start my seeds indoors. My garden patch is covered in about 2 feet of snow at the moment. I may have to container plant on the deck this year if we don’t get some warm weather soon!
SNOW DAY?!?!?!?
Yep. Snow day. I’m in Ottawa Canada. It’s our 7th snow day this year. Unbelievable but true.
I have about 3 more weeks left of classes and I can’t wait!
I don’t think I could have survived my first tri without Mexican food. Seriously, my husband loves Mexican and was SOOOOO over me wanting it EVERY day
Level 2 ultrasound is normal for all pregnancy (the anatomy ultrasound), it just takes twice as long for you! For mine, I got there around 1:45 pm and after the ultrasound and talking to the MFM doctor I left around 3:20ish???? So fun to watch them for so long
Fun news is, after that ultrasound you should start having them once a month unless they find problems!!!!
I can’t wait for my monthly ultrasounds!!! I went to an appointment last night (16 weeks), and I was so sad the doctor only listened to their heartbeats. LAME!
Unplanned/free weekends are my absolute favorite…enjoy it!!
I had a level II ultrasound done right after my 18 week anatomy U/S. I’m not having twins (just one little girl!), but our doctor did it because she wanted clearer pictures of some of the things we did in the first ultrasound. It was fun! The level II machine, at least at our hospital, was SO much clearer. We got a way better view of what was going on in there
I’m so excited for a clear picture!!
Using old eggs and not new ones usually does the trick!
These 6 weeks FLEW by!!! But I’m sorta hoping the next 6 are the same because I’m so so ready for June.
PS- I’m so stoked to see you (and the girls) next week for dinner!!!! Miss you love!
Hopefully you’bee be able to keep up with your garden. I have some seeds starting inside. I can’t wait til I can plant them outside.
I’m not sure what a Level 2 ultrasound is, but I did want to tell you that one of my girl friends who had twins had to go through extra testing b/c she was having twins … and the nurses/doctors scared her to death with the results. They said that the babies had certain chromosones that COULD mean X or Y disorder. But what they failed to mention was that the odds were very low and that more than likely, they’d be fine. Anyway, I say that because she now has the cutest, most perfect and healthy 1-year-old twins in the world. So if you have anyone scare you with information like that, please be sure to get ALL of the information before panicking! Because more than likely, everything will be absolutely fine and perfect!
We actually decided NOT to get some of the screenings done because of that same exact reason. I have read that with multiples the chances of getting a false positive on a quad screening is higher than normal - and then even with that I’d have to do an amnio which is riskier with twins. My cousin had a horrible experience with her first with that test and my goddaughter is perfect. I’m a worrier, so it would just cause me ridiculous anxiety. Plus, we wouldn’t do anything to end the pregnancy because of any results anyway. We’d love our babies REGARDLESS of anything that is wrong!
I’m glad to hear that! They didn’t get my friend an option. She felt the same way as you, but they said it was a requirement because she was having twins. So I’m really really glad that you were able to say “no!”
That stinks she couldn’t make the choice herself. I’d like to not get the crap scared out of me.
I don’t think I even know what a level 2 ultrasound is?! Regardless, any ultrasound is exciting!
I’m in East TN and started my first square foot garden this year. I have kale, spinach, mixed lettuce, squash, zucchini, broccoli, carrots, tomatoes, beans, green peppers, orange peppers, and cucumbers. And then up on my deck I have oregano, parsley, cilantro, dill, chives, thyme, sunflowers and jalapenos. I got to get a basil plant ASAP and then I’ll be done!
Lucky you that you can already plant!
Level II ultrasound is totally normal everyone get its. It’s typically done around 18-20 weeks to not only determine the gender of the baby but to take a super detailed looked at all the important organs-heart, kidneys, brain etc to make sure everything is as it should be. I’m only having one baby but it took roughly 15 minutes-so not long at all!
That’s the quickest I’ve heard for a level ii!
I have never planted a vegetable garden but am hoping to this year! My boyfriend is going to help me build a platform and I am hoping to enlist the advice of family as to how to take care of it.
My MIL basically tells me when to put everything in the ground. It’s nice. She’ll call me and say “i’m planting my green beans today!” Guess what I go outside to do after her phone call?
That’s funny! I will have to make sure my mom updates me with each new planting!
Ugh, I’m jealous that you guys only have six weeks left in the year! My university is on the quarter system, so we’re two weeks into the quarter with about 8.5 to go! (The .5 is for finals week- haha.) Oh well, we didn’t start until late September so I suppose it’s fair ; ).
Um yeah, we started MID AUGUST!
Older eggs are easier to peel! If you just bought them they will be IMPOSSIBLE.
They were old too.
I’m just challenged.
I see a high risk doctor for our twins and we have the long ultrasounds every two weeks. But I can’t complain, I LOVE them!!! I could watch these babies all day long…it never gets old. Plus it’s super fun watching them grow. Each time I have an u/s they are so much bigger.
You will love it!
That’s so much fun! Did you always see a high risk doctor or just since you started having some issues?
It is so much fun!!!! I’ve always seen a high risk doctor since knowing it’s twins…for some reason my RE always had me go to a high risk for multiples. Apparently twins are high risk, so that’s why I’ve been seeing him. Was supposed to stop seeing him at 20 weeks, but then he found the shorten cervix issue so now I’ll be seeing him the rest of my pregnancy. No big deal though
Oh and congrats on the girls, so exciting!!!!!!!!
I can’t wait for a weekend when I have nothing planned! Don’t see one in the near future. Enjoy!
Good luck with your garden!
Have a great weekend!
A “no plans weekend” is the best! I’m jeal - I’ve got a busy one ahead.
I’m on a big gardening kick this year. I’m doing square foot gardening in our back yard (we have a hill with prebuilt boxes landscaped in), and found a really cool app on Pinterest where you input your garden dimensions and it tells you what you can plant in a square foot bed.
Here’s the link: http://www.gardeners.com/on/demandware.store/Sites-Gardeners-Site/default/Page-KitchenGardenDesigner
Hoping to get a lot of food out of it this year. I do better with healthy food around, but I never want to buy it (figure that out).
Thanks!
I’m planting a veggie garden this year! I’m just hoping it goes better than last year… my zucchini, red leaf lettuce, broccoli, carrots, and pepper plants all died on me. I swear I have a black thumb.
I think that last year was just a bad year for gardening. The weather was horrible!
I didn’t get a chance to comment about the hardboiled eggs, but YES, just get the pre-peeled ones! That’s what I get for my husband and it’s one thing in life that is just worth the extra $1 or whatever!
haha I got some pre-peeled ones today - so so much easier!
I finally got around to making the enchiladas you posted last Friday. They were fantastic! I put slices of avacado in with the filling and it tasted great!! Hubby loved them as well.
Have you ever heard of eggies? You crack your egg and put it in a little plastic egg then boil them - no peeling and you can do egg white only, add herbs or pepper or whatever you like!
Have a great weekend
Mexican food is some of the best food around. I’ve had it three nights in a row. Hmmm…maybe tonight will be number 4?
I bought more beans yesterday so I could have them for dinner again tonight. #noshame
I swear I use gaaaah! all the time and have slowly got one of my friends saying it haha
I seriously want to know why Chipotle and pregnant ladies go hand in hand like almost all the time! haha. Chipotle was one of the few things that sat well in my stomach without making me queasy/nauseated during my first trimester. I’m guessing it’s the savory, salty, and tangy combo that makes it so good?
Lol true - I get sad that some people don’t go back until after Labor Day. We go back mid August. It’s the worst!
