single lady weekend

April 29, 2013

Goodness gracious, I didn’t get a post up this morning. Whoopsies! The time got away from me last night, and coupled with the fact that my computer decided it didn’t want to charge with my charger anymore (??? – only for last night though. Weird), nothing got done. That’s okay though! I had a great weekend – full of some busy time and some much needed down time as well. The Husband was out of town Saturday and Sunday, and I loooooooooove having the house to myself. Sometimes I feel horrible for enjoying my single weekends, but then I remember that it’s normal to want some alone time.

charlie looking unbelievably irritated with me that I woke him up from one of his seven thousand daily naps.

my “omg this belly just keeps getting bigger” face. Don’t mind the crazy hair and no makeup. ;)

delicious saturday lunch salad (accompanied by some barbecue potato chips – it’s all about balance, right?)

my new tactic to ensure I don’t eat two bowls of ice cream every day – fruit bars!

somehow in my book, 64 degrees means tanktop, shorts, and tanning in the backyard with a book.

black bean burger and rosemary potatoes for dinner with my mom on Saturday night

Some observations from this weekend:

  • I need to stop carrying heavy things (ie: doing things in the garden on Saturday) because I’m pretty sure I’m not supposed to do that anymore.
  • Mani/Pedi’s are especially exciting when you get to wear flip flops and show off your toesies.
  • The only shirt I think is going to continue to fit until I deliver is that blue striped one in the above photo…. and it’s not even a maternity shirt – just really stretchy!
  • Rosemary isn’t my favorite herb. I think the Husband has gotten to me (he hates rosemary).
  • I need a different chair for laying out in the sun. The one I use right now leans back so far that I am almost inverted. I thought my lungs were going to be crushed!

Although I had a nice quiet weekend by myself, I sure was happy when the Husband got home last night. I swear I miss him when he’s gone! ;)

For the rest of the night, I’m going to go out for dinner with an old friend who lives in Vegas and is back to visit. Then I’m home to relax on the couch and put my feet up per my doctor’s request (I had a lot of cramping today). A popsicle or two might also be consumed.

I’ll see everyone in the morning for an 18 week update on my baby girls!

I cherish my alone time. I actually have no idea how I’m going to handle living with someone… I’d need a room where I could escape to to get some peace and quiet, for sure.

I know exactly what you mean about enjoying that alone time - it’s necessary and healthy every so often!

Weekends sans husband are wonderful from time to time, I agree! Well, that is…until you have an infant (or two, your case). Haha!
Keep resting whenever you need it ;)

I’m the same way, love my personal space! Sometimes it’s nice just to do whatever you want to do.

Looks like you had a great weekend! I think that as soon as the weather turns from not snow to anything kind of warm, tanning is definitely justified!

I’m not married, but I can totally see myself appreciating those weekends to myself someday. I loveee my alone time, it’s necessary! And I love that you’re reading Goblet of Fire right now. HP fanatic over here :)

I’ve been living alone since I graduated college (two years ago) and I looooove it. A little too much, I think. If I ever meet someone who changes that…ohhhh I think I’ll miss these days.

Alone time is definitely needed once in a while! As much as I adore having the boyfriend around, I’m not going to complain about the occasional single lady weekend ;-)

Those sautéed mushrooms on your salad look SO good. Why have I never ate hot veggies on top of a salad before?! I think you’ve inspired me!

You are so cute! Glad you got some sun this weekend. Gotta love the vitamin D! I’m totally with you on the husband front. I love mine dearly but it is nice to have some alone time every now and again. :)

Where did you buy your maternity clothes from? I can’t seem to find any cute affordable items? : (
