wiaw - creeper alert

June 19, 2013

Go me for getting this up “on time”! Today is going to be a relatively busy day, so I wanted to get this written up as soon as I got home from grad class last night. Today I have an acupuncture appointment, a lunch date with Lauren, and some babysitting time with Princess Aubrey.

Yesterday was a good one – and these girls kept me laughing all day long. Seriously, they would NOT stop moving! At one point I thought Baby A was seriously trying to claw and punch her way out of me.

Anyway, onto the eats – I think I did much better than I did last week. There were a lot more vegetables to be had! If you happen to notice, there is a creeper in the majority of my pictures from yesterday. Charlie wanted all of my food!

Breakfast – 8:30 AM

June 18, 2013 019
I didn’t end up rolling out of bed until almost 8:00 after a pretty restless night of sleep (waking up almost every hour) which means that after taking my thyroid medication, I didn’t get to eat until 8:30! (You’re supposed to take it on an empty stomach and not have anything to eat for 30-60 minutes to give it a chance to absorb)

My breakfast wasn’t too traditional. All I could think about when I got up was a regular lunchtime sandwich, so that’s what I had! It was packed full of veggies, avocado, cheese, and some mayo/mustard. It hit the spot! I also had a pineapple CHO on the side.

I spent the majority of my morning cleaning around the house. Our floors desperately needed to be washed. I vacuum every 2 days or so, but Charlie’s slobber seems to leave marks everywhere. It wasn’t something the floor mop could handle – and I have to say, that might be the last time I get down on my hands and knees to wash floors this pregnancy. Talk about uncomfortable! It’s a good thing I have a willing 11 year old niece who can’t wait to help me out with household chores this summer (nope, not joking). It helps I told her I would pay her.

Lunch – 12:15 PM

June 18, 2013 020
Lunch was in two parts – part one was a huge salad that was leftover from Sunday’s family get together. It was chopped with lettuce, tomato, onion, cucumber, white beans, and tons of avocado. I topped it off with some poppyseed salad dressing.

Part two was Trader Joe’s Crunchy Curls with a side of hummus. Hummus hasn’t been a regular thing for me these past few months, so I was so excited when it stood out to me at the grocery store the other day!

Snack – 2:00 PM

June 18, 2013 022
Although this morning was nice and cool, it heated up quite a bit throughout the day. I needed something cold to cool me off, so I ate a frozen fruit bar. It was deeeeellicious.

Dinner – 5:00 PM

Dinner was eaten when I got to class, but I actually drove through Buona Beef for my favorite gluten free flatbread and fries beforehand. It totally hit the spot, even if it was incredibly messy to eat while I was sitting in class.

Snack – 8:45 PM

June 18, 2013 026
When I got home, I immediately dug into the best apple I’ve had in quite some time. I haven’t had good luck buying them for the past month or so, so it was nice to have a good one!

I’m not sure what else I want to eat tonight, but I know I want something! Then it’s time for bed to read and play Candy Crush (no shame over here).

I am shamelessly addicted to Candy Crush, I mocked people when they first started talking about it and now I just can’t get enough.

I have been all about poppyseed dressing this spring and summer! Especially when it’s paired with sliced strawberries, chopped walnuts and grilled chicken. It just screams warm weather to me!

Oh Candy Crush… is it sad that I consider it a good and productive day when I manage to beat a level or two? I actually had to turn the music off because I started hearing it even when I wasn’t playing…

Whenever I’m hope my dog likes to creep up and photobomb my food pictures too :)

What is with everyone’s sudden addiction to Candy Crush? I’m almost worried to find out…

I’ll have to be on the lookout for the curly chips at Trader Joe’s. I haven’t seen those. Love the looks of that poppy seed dressing. Looks like a fabulous day of eats!

That salad looks delicious. I always take my thyroid pill at night right before I go to sleep, but sometimes I forget because I’m too sleepy, so I guess that’s the downfall of that plan. I love candycrush!

I didn’t know I was able to do that! I always take my vitamins at night so they don’t interact with the thyroid pill.

Ugh, hate it when meds have to be taken w/o food. My prenatals had to be taken an hour before and two hours after a meal. It was too inconvenient, so I switched to One A Days. Ha, priorities.

Hmmm what are those crunchy curls? I’m intrigued. I’ve been all about crunchy, carby snacks lately. Haha. Also, I’ve been hitting the jackpot with apples these days. I’m glad, because I’m not ready to stop eating them yet!

When I was pregnant I craved apples like crazy! The weird thing was, I craved Granny Smith Apples which before and after, I’m not a fan of. Lunch for breakfast sounds yummy!

I’m impressed that you vacuum every two days. It happens once a week around here! I desperately need to scrub our kitchen floor too. Dogs definitely make things dirty quicker!

I feel like the only one in the world who hasn’t played candy crush yet, I feel sort of left out…maybe I should just download it, I just love my sudoku. Since I’m clearly 80.
Your salad looks fantastic! Craving one now.

And I’ve just started playing Candy Crush. I understand the obsession… ;-)

All those pics with Charlie’s face peeping out are hysterical! Our pup lays his head on our knees while we eat but we finally got him to stop jumping on the table with a water bottle. Only sprayed him once and now he hides under the bed when we get it out while we eat. So sad! haha
