fun facts friday

June 28, 2013

1. Yesterday I went over to my aunt’s house to float in her pool. It was the BEST three hours of my summer thus far. I wish I were joking, but I’m not. I can totally withstand the heat when I’m floating in water. Not to mention, I felt weightless. Then when I started walking up the ladder to get out, I realized that I’m still carrying quite a heavy load these days. ;)

2. On Wednesday night I had an interesting experience. I started getting contractions after I vacuumed, and they were pretty consistent and coming every ten minutes. After an hour or so, I called my doctor and he had me come in. Thankfully I caught him at the office and was able to avoid a trip to the hospital. Everything checked out fine, and I only had a few contractions when they hooked me up to the monitor and they were pretty sporadic at that point so I was sent home. I’m assuming that contractions at this point in a twin pregnancy are pretty normal. Every time I think I’m taking it easy, my body proves me otherwise!

3. Earlier this week I received a package from Enjoy Life, a company that is free of the top 8 allergens. Their products are deeeeelicious, so I was excited to try out their new soft baked bars. I broke into the Chocolate Sunbutter flavor the other day, and it was meh. It was mostly chocolate with not really any sunbutter flavor. The cinnamon roll flavor though – that’s another story!

4. I have my bi-weekly prenatal massage today. ::ahh:: Seriously, they are blissful!

5. What. A. Baby.

6. After a lot of thought, the Husband and I cancelled our trip to Mackinac Island for next week. We’re both super disappointed about it – buuuut after this week’s events, it’s probably for the best. He was nervous to begin with about me walking around and being on my feet all day, and I have to say these last few weeks have definitely been more nerve wracking than the beginning of my pregnancy. Plus, the weather around here has been pretty rainy so the Husband is behind on his jobs and needs to catch up. We’ll get there eventually – probably with two little ones in tow! ;)

7. Has anyone seen World War Z yet??? My mom and I are going to see it on Tuesday because the Husband doesn’t want to go see it. I’ve been looking forward to it for a long time! And no, I haven’t read the book so I don’t have anything to compare it to.

8. That’s all I’ve got for you today – have a good weekend!

To float in the pool..love it! You have such a good way of conveying natural humour, never fail to make me smile! Enjoy the massage!!!

Too bad about the trip cancelling, but that does allow for more pool floating time!! :)

I just can’t get into zombies. I couldn’t get into vampires either. But I’m ridiculously excited about the day I finally get to see The Great Gatsby!

I’m typically not into zombies - I tried watching The Walking Dead and I about vomited. But World War Z kind of reminds me of I am Legend in a way?

Enjoy Life mini chocolate chips are SO good. I avoid dairy so they are perfecto.

I have yet to float in a pool this summer. This needs to change!

I had zero desire to see World War Z and was dragged along by the fiance and I actually really enjoyed it! They did a pretty good job. Did you know that it was produced by 2 producers?

Bummer about your trip. Now you guys have an excuse to go out to dinner & do lots of fun stuff at home instead :)

I totally know what you mean about the heat! I was 9 months pregnant in the middle of Australian summer. Needless to say, pool floating was my activity of choice most days ;) Happy Friday!

I’d never even heard of World War Z until you mentioned you were going… lol so no I’m not planning on seeing it. And bi-weekly prenatal massage? Can I stuff a pillow under my shirt and come along?? haha

I’ve kind of been dying to try those new decadent bars from Enjoy Life. As someone with a peanut allergy, my heart does a little happy dance whenever something is specifically allergy friendly. I’m not the biggest fan of sunbutter in general, but put cinnamon on anything and I’m all over it.

Are we able to buy those bars yet? I’d love to try some. I have intolerances to dairy, gluten, egg and multiple others, so I don’t have a lot of options! The cinnamon ones sound delicious!

Your husband needs to see World War Z, you won’t be disappointed!!!!

Biweekly prenatal massages sound like the perfect reward for a momma expecting twins! :) Make sure you get a lot of rest this weekend! I think your husband is right that trying off your feet for now is probably for the best!

So glad everything was okay Wed, I am not looking forward to when early contractions start! Boo for cancelling your holiday, but you are right it is probably for the best :)

I’m seriously happy to just lay by the water in the sun and read ALL day long. It’s one of the most relaxing things!

That’s too bad about your trip but it sounds like you’re definitely making the right decision to postpone it - better to be home safe I think!

Have a good weekend, Chelsey! No more vacuuming….let the hubby take care of that.

Sorry you had to cancel your trip. :( But I definitely think you’re being wise about trying to take it easy!

I think our mini pool is going to be a lifesaver this summer!! I hate being hot all the time and lately I am constantly warm.

I don’t blame you for passing on your trip to the Island. I’d be nervous about it too. We’re trying to plan a babymoon and I’m trying to figure out how late is too late. We were actually thinking about going to Mackinac Island too (or Niagara Falls). Maybe you guys can plan a getaway a little closer to home still?

I’m glad things are good with you and the little ones! I have a friend who’s pregnant, and her and her family just got back from a camping trip. She told me before they left that she looked up hospitals where they were going just in case the little one decided to come early!

There’s like, 3 movies I want to see right now, but World War Z isn’t really one of ‘em. Monsters University, on the other hand? That’s a different story ;)

I must find that cinnamon roll bar! Enjoy your massage :-)

That stinks that you had to cancel your trip! But sooo worth it to just make sure that you and the babies are safe and everything goes well. Those enjoy life bars look pretty good! I used to buy their snack bars a lot when I shopped at whole foods!

I saw World War Z a couple of days ago and really enjoyed it! The movie was, I thought, pretty intelligently laid out and the plot was interesting :) .

Awe, I’m sorry you had to cancel your trip - but lying in the pool sounds pretty darn amazing.
I actually heard pretty good things about World War Z from a few friends, even though they didn’t even want to see it in the first place…so I guess that means it’s a good one:)

Amanda @ Pink Runner Girl June 28, 2013 at 12:56 pm

World War Z is so great!!! I saw it last weekend with my fiance. The movie went by so quick because it’s so jam packed with awesome scenes. That’s too bad you aren’t going to Mackinac! My mom has property on the UP and she goes up there alllll the time. I just moved to the St. Clair Shores area so my fiance and I want to head up there. It’s just unusually far from here!

I’m so glad your Wednesday night scare was nothing to worry about. Still, I know it had to be scary! Although you hate to cancel your trip, at least you have a good reason for doing so. Here’s to hoping you get to float in the pool all weekend!

Brooke @ Running In Heels June 28, 2013 at 4:08 pm

I totally agree about floating in the pool.. it makes any heat bearable!

That sucks about the trip, but it’s completely understandable. I haven’t seen World War Z yet, but I really want to! Maybe I’ll convince the boy to go with me next weekend.

Chelsea @ Chelsea's Healthy Kitchen June 29, 2013 at 7:13 am

I’ve only tried the cinnamon roll flavour so far and I really liked it. I was really looking forward to trying the chocolate sunbutter ones next - that’s too bad they’re not that good!

Sorry you had to cancel your trip! But I guess it’s better to be safe than sorry. I hope you can make up for it by spending some more time in your aunt’s pool this weekend. ;)

I can not imagine being pregnant with twins. I’ve been enjoying the pool on my days off and am loving it.

Reply

cleaneatingchelsey June 30, 2013 at 3:54 pm

LOL - you’ve just got to rise to the occasion. There’s no other choice! ;) While I don’t have anything to compare it to, I’m guessing that I’m just experiencing things earlier and more quickly than people who are pregnant with just one (ie: contractions, things getting more difficult, etc.). It’s really not bad!

Reply

Lauren @ I Had a Big Lunch June 30, 2013 at 10:30 pm

Haha I’m a twin so I’ve heard allll the stories about being pregnant with two from my mom. Better safe than sorry! I just saw White House Down and it was great-you should see that too!
