wiaw

I swear I have been trying to write a blog post for the last three nights, and it is finally now working. Brooklyn went through a nice little growth spurt at the beginning of the week (girl was eating like CRAZY!), and when that happens, she is fussy beyond belief and wants to be held constantly. Needless to say, nothing else got done!

Yesterday was a great day. One, Brooklyn wasn’t fussy anymore. Two, the girls slept beautifully. and Three, well – I don’t have a three!

I didn’t capture all of my eats yesterday, but I did get most of them – happy WIAW!

Breakfast – 6:45 AM

The girls woke up around 6 to eat yesterday, and after they ate, I pumped and then decided to just stay up. It was a decision made purely by the hunger I was feeling. 😉 I made pumpkin oatmeal and topped it with cranberries, maple syrup, and peanut butter. This has been my combination for a few weeks, and I’m loving it!

After breakfast I got in a good workout (30 Day Shred) and got ready for the day in between the girls’ next feeding and nap time.

Lunch – 12:00 PM

I met my mom and one of her friends who wanted to meet the girls for lunch. We went to Uncle Julio’s, which is an awesome Mexican restaurant that just opened nearby. They have the greatest veggie fajitas which is what I ordered. Sadly, I didn’t take a picture. I can tell you that they’re the best – Portobello mushrooms, squash, zucchini, poblano peppers.. yum!

Afternoon Treat – 1:30 PM

After lunch I went with my mom to Sears. She’s remodeling her kitchen and had to order all of her beautiful new appliances (I’m jealous!). While she was waiting for someone to meet with her, I took a stroll in the mall with the girls to go get us some drinks from Starbucks. I got a decaf Pumpkin Spice Latte. It hit the spot!

Snack – 4:00 PM

We went back to my mom’s house after the mall so the girls could eat and so I could pump. On my way out, I grabbed a few of these snack bites from my mom’s cabinet. I’m not exactly sure what they are or what’s in them. I’m pretty sure it’s a date/nut combo. They were pretty good!

I also ate an apple. My mom went apple picking on Monday and she brought me back a few!

Dinner – 7:00 PM

Making dinner was quite the ordeal. Brooklyn had woken up and wanted to be held, so I put her in the Ergo that I got this past weekend. That got me through 15 minutes until Emerson also woke up and wanted to be held. So I wore one and carried the other and stirred the taco meat with my remaining hand. That’s how we roll over here. 😉

John had requested Mexican food over the weekend, and I had been putting it off. Even though I ate Mexican for lunch, I decided to make him his tacos and heat up my leftovers. It worked well!

And as I’m typing this it’s only 8:00 PM which means I’ll likely have a snack or two before bed (and throughout the night). We have a pretty low-key day today. My goal is to get some grad school work done!

I’ll be back tomorrow with a post about items we have found to be essential for newborns!
