fun facts friday

October 25, 2013

1. We have had a RIDICULOUS week around here. On Tuesday afternoon, my mama tripped over a dog gate, fell backwards, and broke both of her wrists. I think I had a mini panic attack when I answered my phone and only heard her screaming. Thankfully my brother was on his way home and could take her. I rushed around my house like a  crazy person for about five minutes throwing things in the girls’ diaper bag thinking I was going to have to take her. I met them at the ER after my mother in law got to my house to take care of the girls. Unfortunately, she’s having surgery today. Poor lady!

2. Oh, and then after all of that happened, I went to her house on Tuesday  night to help her get ready for bed. When I got there, my brother left to go to the store…. and backed into my car. I’m telling you – it’s been a week!

3. It freaking SNOWED on Tuesday. SNOWED! Okay, so nothing even accumulated once it hit the ground. But still. Snowflakes in October. I can’t say I was the least bit mad.

4. It’s my favorite family party of the year on Sunday. Every last Sunday of the month we get together with the Husband’s extended family. This month has tractor rides, pumpkin carving, pumpkin seeds, and a lot of soups and chilis. Its the best!!

5. We are working on cooing and smiling over here. We aren’t there quite yet, but the girls are trying so hard!

6. Poor Annette – let’s cheer on Baby Perks to get the heck out!!!

7. Yesterday and today I have gotten to spend some time with one of my favorite little ladies, Aubrey. Seriously, I don’t know who came up with the term terrible two’s because she’s anything but that. She makes me laugh so hard. The other day when she was over here, Emerson was crying before I fed them (girl was hAngry!). Aubrey, being the sweetheart that she is, went over to her bouncy seat, hugged her, patted her, and said “no reason to cry Emme” over and over again.

8. I can’t not share pictures of the girls. If you want more of them, you need to follow me on instagram. I may not get here too often, but I am instagramming all the live long day!!

I am OBSESSED with those headbands!

let’s play a rousing game of name that baby! ;)

9. I’m hoping to make it to the gym at some point on Saturday if the Husband gets home early enough from working. I lost my instant babysitter right down the street! ::tear::

10. Happy weekend everyone!

Wow, hugs to your momma!!! That is one heck of a week for her!!! My mom fell off a ladder onto her driveway while trying to paint the outside of her house not too long ago (she should have just hired someone!). Fortunately, she didn’t end up with any broken bones, but she sure scared the mess out of me!

I would try to guess the babies but I am so terrible. I’m going to go with Emerson is in the front??? I’m probably wrong. lol And please, please, please mask my hate for all things snow! I would love to enjoy the snowy weather so please teach me your ways. Fingers crossed for a better weekend and an opportunity to head to the gym! Have a good one!

I feel so bad for your mom - being incapacitated like that stinks! Luckily she has you as a daughter :) I wish we were close enough to family to do things like that. It’s hard living cross-country! However - we have two sets of grandparents coming to visit us within the month so life is good :)

Ugh, I wish I could do more! I am so limited right now on what I can help out with because of these two little ladies. I feel horrible!

I hope your mom’s surgery goes well.

We’re supposed to get up to 4 inches of snow on Sunday. I’m not looking forward to that!

ohh my gosh your poor mama!! Wishing her a quick and speedy recovery- what luck :( And you car! You deserve that workout more than anyone to get the stress out. Hope you can get it in, busy woman! Have fun at the fall event on Sunday!

Awe, that’s awful about your mom! Hope her surgery goes well and a speedy recovery! I know what you mean (reply to Madeline) about being limited on helping out. With my twin girls (2 months old) and my other two (2 and 5) I can’t do what I was used to doing before the girls were born - like car pooling and babysitters. Watching 4 kids, 3 if it’s during school hours, is pretty difficult for one person - other than their mom or dad who has adapted to taking care of 4. My mom is about to have surgery soon and I feel terrible I won’t be able to help her much. But luckily, my brother lives with her and my dad works nights so he will at least be there during the day if she needs something.

I REALLY need to go to the gym to keep my sanity. I have this internal battle with myself though where I feel like if I’m NOT doing homework or hanging out with Nia, that I’m not being productive. I think a good run would save my soul at this point though!

We had snow last Friday, the 18th of October. INCHES, it all stuck too! The kids at school were going cRaZy!! It was gone about noon on Saturday but the kids went home in the snow!!
I am praying like mad for lots of snowdays this year! ……..Hugs to your momma & to you! Know I’ll be praying and I hope her surgery went well + recovery is fast; I bet she just wants to hold those sweet grandbabies, not having casted or bandaged wrists!

Awww your poor mother!! I’ll be praying for her- and for you too! :)

SNOW?! In October?? Chicago even beat Canada to it.. I’m impressed ;)

Emmerson is definitely the one in the front… she looks a lot more like you (IMHO). Brooklyn looks more like your hubs (based on the maternity shoot I saw a while back). Both are beautiful itty bitty babes!

Thinking of your Mom!! That’s such a bummer, in every way possible.
I keep seeing friend’s facebook updates about snow back home.. although we miss our families and friends in Calgary, we definitely aren’t missing the weather. Have a great weekend, and hope you can find some “me time”. :)

Oh no, your poor mom! I hope she recovers quickly.

I can’t believe it snowed there… I don’t even want to think about snow until at least December. I want the sunny, warm fall weather to come back!!
