fun facts friday

June 20, 2014

1. You guys… I am five for five. Five posts in a row. Woohoo! I’m in a groove this week, that’s for sure.

2. The storms that have been going on in the evenings around here have been ridiculous. For the past two nights I have wanted to take Charlie for walks, and each night it has been storming like crazy. Not even cool.

3. I am really liking getting up before the girls wake up to get my work outs in. I’ve been into running the past few weeks – mainly because it gets me out of the house, I can be back in 35-40 minutes, and I have a little “me” time before the day truly begins. Even if that means I have to get up at 5:00, I will do it! I feel so “off” when I wake up when the girls do. I need a little time before I become mommy for the day.

4. Yesterday and today I am also taking on Aubrey for the day. My mom usually has her Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Since she’s on vacation, I figured I could help my brother in law out since he works from home.  You may not believe me, but having her here is actually EASIER than if I just had my two. She entertains the girls and they watch her like a hawk. It is hilarious!

5. The husband and I are obsessed with Outshine Fruit Bars. Ever since they came out, we have gone through boxes and boxes of them. Our favorite flavor is Mango, and they have been hard to find lately. We have been in mourning, but I finally found Mango at Target yesterday. Woohoo!

6. Tonight my bestie is having a jewelry party at her place. What that really means is I get to drink a lot of wine.

7. Emerson got her first battle scar the other day. I was holding Brooklyn and didn’t get to her quite fast enough when she thought it was a good idea to climb the saucer. It turned, she fell, and she hit her head on the leg of the kitchen table. Then the poor baby slipped on a book when she was standing by the couch, and she hit her head again. I was actually right there  when that one happened. She fell in such a weird position I couldn’t catch her! It was a rough afternoon. I know it’s the first of many many many falls, but it still broke my mama heart.

8. I finally went to the library again yesterday. I got The Opposite of Love which was recommended to me after I read After You by Julie Buxbaum. I’m excited to get started!

It’s been storming like crazy here, too. I get so mad when I have 40 minutes to run, I step outside, and boom, I hear thunder. Yesterday I ran anyway and felt like a total storm chaser. I made it home before the lightening started! I also HAVE to get up before the kids. I don’t work out then, but I need that time to have some peace and quiet to myself before my day starts.

These storms have GOT to go! Last night I heard some thunder in the distance, but thought I good get my pups out for their walk in time. Well half way through we got POURED on. I’m terrified of storms so we were sprinting down the street (me in my flip flops) in the pouring rain (me screaming!) I’m sure it was quite the sight to see.

Random question- do you remember where you got your rug? It looks so soft! We have hardwood too and I need a soft rug for my babe!

I’m pretty sure it was from Target a few years ago. I would not recommend it if you have an animal that sheds though. I swear it always has hair hiding in it no matter how many times I vacuum!

We’ve had the opposite of stormy with super hot temperatures. I enjoy summer but would love a good storm with some cooler temps about now! Oh how I remember those head bumps and bruises. When my son first started walking he had permanent bruises across his forehead. Toughened him up though :-)

I’m with you on that need for “me time” before Hunter wakes for the day. It’s totally worth the less sleep to me. I’m glad you’ve been able to get some runs in - I bet that feels so nice!

Enjoy your wine tonight! ;)

I agree! I go to bed early enough, so I’m good with 8 hours. It’s hard to believe that a year ago I couldn’t even fathom getting 4-5 hours and now I’m getting 8. Woohoo!

CUTIES!! My little guy just got another war wound this week when I was chasing him and he ran, fast first, into the tv cabinet. I felt HORRIBLE but luckily he brushed it off really quick! BOYS will be boys lol!

Outshine bars are the best!!! We usually get the giant Costco pack, but that still doesnt last us all that long!

We are picky with our flavors, otherwise we would do the same. LOL!

Yay! Love that you’ve found the time to post more! Me time in the morning is such a luxury I don’t have during the school year because, like you I’m sure, I’ve got to be at work bright and early. I don’t have babies yet, but I love having my low key mornings during the summertime.

Yay I’m glad you’re blogging regularly now! :) I just found/discovered your blog, your girls are adorable! I like running in the morning too, even though I’m SO not a morning person, it’s nice to be out by myself having well, 100% me time.

We took our daughter to boston in May and the north end there doesn’t have many changing tables in the restrooms because they are really small places, the one place we were had just a small table so I literally pivoted to through the diaper away and she rolled right off the table. I half caught her as she fell but she still bumped her little arms and legs on the ground. I felt so guilty and was so worried she could have seriously been hurt : ( it was really awful

So glad you are back posting. Know how difficult it must be with your schedule and the babies. Appreciate the efforts!

My favorite thing ever is getting up before anyone else, and working out! I feel so alive and energized when everyone else gets up - it’s great :) I typically get up at around 5 or 5:30 and sneak out of bed as my boyfriend sleeps. Then I come back by 8 or so… And snuggle back into bed (after a quick shower - obviously) and it’s like I never left, except, I just accomplished something HUGE! ha ha! It typically motivates him to get up and go to the gym once I get back! ha!
