Hi everyone! I ended up taking a little more than a week to unplug and be with my family, and it was a blast!
When I got back from Cleveland last Wednesday, I cranked it up to high gear to get laundry done and pack us all up to go to Michigan for the weekend. We left Thursday afternoon right around the girls’ nap time. We thought that was an excellent idea (okay, I thought it was an excellent idea) as the drive without traffic is right around 3.5 hours. Well, the girls didn’t feel like napping much – and Emerson ended up getting car sick. Note to self: a crabby baby + an episode of Super Why on my phone + a bottle = a disastrous combination. What should have been around a 4.5 hour drive (there was traffic), turned into about 6. Thankfully I have a wonderful husband who didn’t mind cleaning out a car seat full of vomit (there was a LOT of it) while I wrangled the poor baby. I was afraid that experience was foretelling of the weekend to come, but thankfully it wasn’t!
Other than the girls not sleeping too well (Emerson has two teeth coming through), the weekend was awesome. A lot of fun time spent with family, getting the girls in the lake for the first time (they loved it!), and a lot of good food. Below are some pictures from our 4th. Enjoy!
Coming up this week, I’m hoping to get the girls’ 10 month update up on Thursday along with a couple of other posts. Have a great day everyone!

SO cute! I can’t handle it. Happy belated 4th! I also unplugged and am just getting back to the world of the internet. :]
Oh my goodness - could your girls be any cuter? Could you do a post on how you coped the first few weeks with twins (seeing as it is for my own selfish motivation as ours are due any day!)? I’d love to know just mentally and physically how you got it all together
Such a beautiful family!
Seriously? Can they be any cuter!
Seriously too cute! I was in Cleveland last weekend for my little brother’s wedding!
You guys are the cutest family!
Thanks!
My mom always says the most memorable car rides were the ones where one of her kids were sick in the car. Lol. I’m glad it didn’t go into the weekend and it was just a once and done little tummy ache. You’re girls are just GORGEOUS. Those baby blues!!!
Your mom was right! Part of me can’t wait to tell her that story some day!
Oh my goodness, those babes are adorrrable Chels! And their outfits are too cute!
It sounds like you had a great time with your beautiful family, so glad to hear it!
PS. Is it just me or does Sweet Baby B look like your hubs and Emerson look like you? Seriously, “His and Hers” twins!
LOL - we must have had in a special request or something!
Your twins are just too cute!
