Oh, my spitfire. You never disappoint your mama, that’s for sure. The last time I wrote an update about you seems light years away. This past month your favorite thing to do has been to learn new words. Your first "full sentence" was "How are you?" a few weeks ago. Nana texted me during the day to tell me that you had clear as day said it, and I doubted her. 😉 Sure enough, that night you held a little block up to your ear like a telephone and had a nice little conversation with yourself.
"Hi"
"How are you?"
"Good!"
"How are you?"
"Good!"
and on it went…
Your other words that you are saying now include "dada" (your all time favorite person in the entire world), "go go go", "more", "no no no", "Aubrey", and "mama". I’m sure there are a few I am forgetting too. You’re a talking machine!
Which is probably why you’re not a walking machine just yet. You cruise on furniture all day long, and you can stand up by yourself for minutes at a time. But you will. not. take. those. steps. Nope.
If there is anything I have learned about you, my sweet child, it is that you do everything on your own time. I’m not quite sure where your stubborn nature comes from (::stubbornly raises hand::), but there is no telling you what to do. You are such a goofball though - one of your favorite things to do is to hang upside down. You’re definitely a hoot!
You still only have two teeth with no more teeth on the horizon so far. I’m giving up on thinking you’ll ever get teeth these days! You seem to function just fine with only two though, and you can eat basically whatever we eat… if you want to (do you see a pattern here?). You are still quite a picky eater, although you’ve branched out a little in the past few months. Your daddy and I laugh because most nights when we sit down to dinner and it’s something new to eat, you protest eating it. A few weeks ago we made meatballs, and you sat there whining for a good 20 minutes before you gave it and ate them. If we would let you, you would survive off of bread and butter or cheese. You have a lot of new foods that you like though - bread with peanut butter, lasagna, and (after that one night) meatballs! Your favorite will always be pasta with marinara sauce though!
You are so inquisitive and love figuring out how things work, which is why we have baby proofed a lot more of the house these past few months. You are now not a fan of the fact that you can’t open cabinets, pull the stove open, or move the knobs to turn the stove on. Call me weird, but I am a fan of keeping you safe. 😉 The other day you were still trying to get to the oven knobs, and Daddy moved your hand and told you "no". You were a puddle of tears for a few minutes. I think you’re finally figuring out that "no" isn’t something to giggle and laugh at.
You are still taking two naps a day (one in between 8-9 and another in between 1-2) and going to bed around 7 on most nights. You’ve been a pretty good sleeper lately, which I am grateful for, unless your sister wakes you up in the middle of the night. We’ll get to her later….
You now stand up and dance when the Hot Dog song comes on during Mickey Mouse, and it is hysterical. You have no rhythm at all, but that doesn’t stop you from shaking your booty.

Oh, my happy girl. I have said multiple times that if I had as much joy as you do during every single day, I would be so grateful. You are BY FAR the happiest little girl I have ever seen in my life. Nothing funny even has to be happening. You can be walking (!!!) or crawling around and just laughing to yourself. I love it.
You are a walking machine these days! You’v e been taking a few steps here and there for a month or two, but it finally "clicked" a few weeks ago. Now, you’ll choose walking over crawling - unless you want to go REALLY quick! Then you’ll pull out your crawl, which I think is the fastest crawl in the Midwest. You have also picked up a few words in the past few months. You can say "go", "car", "cat", "dada", and "here". I can tell that you understand and put meaning to all of those words, but you also comprehend much more than just that. It’s amazing to give you a direction and to actually watch you do it sometimes!
You absolutely love singing. Your favorite songs are from Frozen, which is no surprise because Aubrey sings them all day long when she’s over. You love "Let it Go" and just sing "gooooooooooooo". It’s hysterical.
You now have a total of four teeth, and you’re working on your fifth. The buckets of drool that come out of your mouth have been ridiculous. I’ve resorted to putting a bib on your most of the time (I only have one that I didn’t pack up with all of your baby clothes) so your shirt doesn’t get soaking wet. I’m not sure if it’s the tooth or what, but we have not had very good luck in the sleeping department with you lately. Most nights you’re up once, and to spare you from waking up the whole rest of the house, I usually just scoop you up to cuddle for a little bit until you are drowsy to put back to sleep. I know it’s probably not the best habit, but it’s a much better option than having your sister up too! I won’t lie, I don’t mind the snuggles. I know 13 years from now this certainly won’t be occurring, so I’m taking it while I can.
You are into everything these days - your favorite thing that you’re not supposed to do is put your hand in Charlie’s food and water dish. Gross! Many times a day I am over there scooping you up and saying "no no, we don’t put our hands in Charlie’s dishes". You just think it’s hilarious!
You are a picky eater too, but not quite as picky as your sister. You turn your nose up to just about anything new that comes onto your plate. ::sigh:: Hopefully you won’t always be picky!
You love hugs and kisses (to your sister’s dismay) and you always make me smile when you walk towards me with your arms out for a hug. Love it! Your favorite time of the day is when your daddy comes home. You absolutely love him! I am definitely chopped liver when he’s around, but I’ll deal with it for now!
