One day of conferences down, one to go! Despite the long day yesterday, I am feeling even more on the mend than I did yesterday. I can’t deny it either – I love parent/teacher conferences. Getting to talk with parents about their kids is one of my favorite things to do. It’s quite an eye opening experience! The best part of the second day of conferences is that it doesn’t start until noon (we go until 8 today though), so I got to sleep in a little later and spend some time with my girlfriends this morning! The. Best.
Last week, Ashley tagged me in a fun little survey on her blog. Guys, I’m a sucker for a good survey. It brings me back to my Xanga and MySpace days (anyone else have a Xanga back in the day? I wish I could remember what my username was).
Four names that people call me other than my real name:
- Chels
- Chelster (my dad used to call me this!)
- Mama
- "Man" (by my bestie - like "hey man, how are you doing?" lol)
Four jobs I’ve had:
- Secretary at a real estate office
- Hostess at Texas Roadhouse
- Server at Texas Roadhouse
- 5th Grade Teacher!
Four movies I’ve watched more than once:
- The Notebook
- Frozen (should I be embarrassed? I’m not.)
- The Hunger Games
- 13 Going on 30 (I watch this EVERY time it comes on TV!)
Four books I’d recommend:
- The Hunger Games Series
- Just Like Other Daughters (just finished this - review coming!)
- Harry Potter Series
- Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet
Four places I’ve lived
All in the Chicago vicinity - minus my college apartment in Normal, IL!
Four places I’ve been:
- Orlando, FL
- Cancun, Mexico
- Los Angeles, CA
- Washington D.C.
Four places I’d rather be right now:
- On a beach enjoying a cocktail
- In Michigan on a boat
- Disney World
- Back in time during summer when I got to stay with my babies all day (does that count?)
Four things I don’t eat:
This is a hard question! I’m really not too picky of an eater… I’ll try though!
1. Gluten
2. Sauerkraut
3. Bloody, Rare Meat
4. Eggnog (this is a drink, but I think it counts.)
Four of my favorite foods:
- Peanut Butter
- Anything Mexican
- Lasagna
- Chocolate
Healthy choices, no?
Four TV shows I watch:
- Scandal
- Parenthood
- Modern Family
- The Middle
That’s pretty much all I watch too! I’m not a big TV watcher. Unless you count reruns of Friends!
Four things I’m looking forward to this year:
- Thanksgiving
- Decorating the house for Christmas
- All of our Christmas festivities!
- Going to a big craft fair with my cousin (nerd alert!
)
Four things I’m always saying:
- No no!
- "Emerson/Brooklyn, we do not ____________" (climb/hit/push the kitchen chair around the kitchen/steal each other’s toys)
- "Emerson, give your sister her pipey back" (pacifier)
- I love you!
Four people I tag to answer these questions:
I know I’m supposed to tag people, but why don’t you all just pick a category and answer some questions instead!

Rare, bloody meat made me laugh, because there really is nothing worse. Gag!
4 fave foods:
1. fresh fruits
2. roasted sweet potatoes
3. my hubby’s grilled chicken
4. dark chocolate!!!
Oh yum - I love all those things too! (minus your hubby’s grilled chicken of course haha!)
These are fun. I’ll go with TV, even though I don’t watch a lot of TV, either. Unless you count Netflix.
1. Dancing with the Stars
2. Big Bang Theory
3. Once Upon a Time
4. Castle.
Most of my shows are early in the week, so once Thursday hits, I pretty much Netflix it up until Sunday night again (Especially when they moved BBT to Monday for a month).
I’m the exact opposite! None of my shows are on in the beginning of the week - mine are the last few days!
My Space! I recently googled myself and stumbled across my old My Space page. So freakin embarassing!
haha oh my goodness, I think I might need to do that!
Are we the same person? Oh yeah, almost.
I had THE hardest time with the food I don’t like question… Eggnog is a good one! I’m not much of a fan either.
haha I know - I copied and pasted your survey, and I was like “ummmm so do I even have to change anything?” haha!
Four places I’d rather be right now:
- In the countryside of Ireland. When I visited there I have never in my life breathed such clean fresh air.
- Visiting with my best girlfriends laughing and talking about when we were younger.
- Lounging on a beach reading a good book.
- Hiking around Colorado and enjoying beautiful views.
Those all sound perfect!
Love 13 Going on 30!!
4 other movies that I’ve watched a million times:
- Pitch Perfect
- She’s the Man
- Love Actually
- The Holiday
I actually have never seen Pitch Perfect - I think that makes me like the only person ever.
I LOVE the Holiday!!
I’m so with you on rare meat- EW! I love that people call you chelster- thats so cute!
haha it was a very ooooold nickname. The only other person who calls me that is one of my best friend’s dads!
Rare bloody meat - blew I just lost my appetite.
Four things I don’t eat are: bacon, steak, bologna, and doritos.
Is Frozen really that good? I mean it must be since I haven’t heard of one person to NOT like it, haha!
(I used to hate saurkrout as a kid! So gross and salty! I still hate the salt, but I actually really like it now, haha!)
YES. It is really that good. I’m a Disney freak though, and I love all Disney movies!
Oh my goodness we could be twins!! Including the nerd alerts with the Harry Potter series and Friends reruns.. LOVE!
13 Going On 30 is so good! I love catching it when it’s on tv too. 4 movies I’ve watched more than once are You’ve Got Mail, Julie and Julia, Ever After, and Love Actually. I like watching Love Actually every year in December… gotta plan a movie night for it soon!
I had the hardest time coming up with foods I don’t like when I did this, but I should’ve added sauerkraut to my list! I *want* to like it because I know it’s really good for you, but I just think it smells terrible and I don’t know what to do with it haha
blech - my dad loved sauerkraut, and the smell of it just makes me want to ralph!
peanut butter definitely tops my list too! As does 13 Going on 30!
These posts are so much fun to read. Good to finally know someone else who doesn’t care for eggnog. That stuff is nasty. Ha!
