Before I get started - the winner of the earrings from last week’s Fun Facts Friday is Allison! Congrats Allison - I have emailed you!
About a month ago, I shared a post detailing my new skin care regime with Rodan+Fields. Reader Sara had emailed me about trying out the products, and as a skin care fanatic, I was more than happy to give them a whirl!
To give you a little bit of background, Rodan+Fields is a company that is run by two dermatologists, both who created ProActiv - a skin care system that most are familiar with.
Rodan+Fields is made up of multiple skin care lines depending on your skin care needs. They have an awesome tool - the Solution Tool - that helps you to figure out just what skin care line will work best with your skin. My Solution Tool results showed that I would do best with REVERSE. REVERSE helps to restore your skin tone and helps to get rid of spots and sun damage. My skin has always hard a little bit of an uneven look to it - a lot of red spots, and I felt like my skin just looked super dull lately. R+F’s to the rescue!
I have been using this program for about two months now. The thing with some of these regimens is that some of the active ingredients are strong, so you have to gradually work your way up to using them twice a day, every day. It took me almost a month to work up to twice a day, every day usage. Below is the breakdown of how I worked up to using it every day.

This system comes with a few different products, clearly labeled in the order which you are supposed to use them in. I think that’s an AWESOME idea… sometimes with new skin care routines, I get super confused on what order to use the products in. There’s no
Week 1: I used the products every other day, once a day. I definitely felt the urge to try to use it more than that because I love the way the products made my face feel. My face feels smoother, my skin looks brighter, and my face feels super moisturized. I did make a bad choice though, and I used the products one night and then one morning right after one another. I was left with a super red face for the rest of the day because my skin was not yet adjusted to the program.
Week 2: Once a day usage! I noticed a few more breakouts than normal during this week, but I figured that was pretty normal. The face wash is pretty exfoliating, so I just chalk it up to that.
Week 3: I was up to one usage at night as well as using the products every other morning. During this week, I noticed a LOT of breaking out. I started to get frustrated, as my breakouts were occurring in locations like my forehead, which has never happened before. I emailed Sarah screaming HELP!!! and she gave me a lot of suggestions, like using some sort of wash cloth to make sure all of the face wash was taken off as well as reminding me not to scrub too hard (which I think I was doing). I take both of her suggestions and put them to good use.
Week 4: During this week, I used the products every morning and every night, and I used Sara’s suggestions. After a few days, my face seemed like it was clearing up and had fully adjusted to the REDEFINE products.
I am still using the products twice daily, and I love them! I did tell Sara, however, that I would like to add the microderm paste to my list of products to use or add in the REDEFINE line at night. REDEFINE helps the appearance of larger pores - another one of my problems.
I was planning on adding some before/after pictures to this post… but really I only have some “after” pictures. My before pictures don’t really highlight how the REVERSE program helped me, mainly because all you can see are my large pores and not my discoloration/uneven skin tone. 😉 The thing that I love most about the REVERSE program is that “glow” that I get after using the products!
Sara has graciously offered to giveaway one of my favorite products I tried in my samples she sent me – the REDEFINE Multi-Function Eye Cream which retails at $60!
