things you may not know

November 29, 2010

1. I’m still looking into that intravenous Mint Chocolate Silk drip. Yes, I have upgraded from a straw to an IV drip. It’s just that delicious. For now though, I’ll take it straight up in my coffee.

2. Sometimes the greatest dumbbells come in the form of orange juice cartons at 4:30 in the morning. Enough said.

3. My appetite has been super weird lately — some days I’m starving, other days I barely want to eat.

4. Chicago drivers don’t understand how to drive… in the RAIN. It’s nowhere near a freezing temperature, but somehow they feel the need to drive like they are going to skid off of the road at any given moment.

november 29, 2010 004

5. The construction worker in the picture below stopped me so he could walk right in front of the car. He looked at me like I was going to put the pedal to the metal and run him over. Yes construction worker, I would love to pay $14,000 just to hit you.. not so much. He needed a chill pill.

6. Christmas decorations make me happy.

november 29, 2010 008

7. I make the best chocolate chip cookies in the world. No, seriously. I’ve never eaten them, but I’ve been told by multiple sources that they’re the best.

8. I always put the mixer beater in the freezer for the Husband.

november 29, 2010 012

9. I go to the store at least once per day for items I forgot during my weekly shopping trip.

November 29, 2010 014

10. I’m a pumpkin snob — I opened up a can of TJ’s pumpkin this morning and couldn’t stand it one more day.

11. Sometimes I wish I was a PE teacher so I could wear sweats to school every day.

November 29, 2010 017

12. Once I get on a spice kick, I can’t be stopped.

November 29, 2010 019

13. I made those refried beans from scratch.

November 29, 2010 020

Just joking — do you think I have 3848723 hours in a day or something?

14. I’ve got nothing else, but I didn’t want to have “13 things”.

Question: What’s something you would like to know about me? Ask away! :)

You must find this Mint Choc Silk. I found mine at Target, have you looked there?

My appetite has been all over the place too!!!! Most days I’m starving which I prefer and other days I can’t eat nearly as much as I’d like to. I hate when that happens.

Haha, you could have fooled me, I would have believed that you made those beans from scratch only because I think you are super woman! :)

I agreed so many times :P Well, luckily I had no grouchy construction workers or lollygagging drivers in my path, though. But I’m definitely always forgetting something I went to the store for, and SO wish I could go to work in sweats and slippers!
And you’re definitely making me want a. mint chocolate silk and b. mexican food. or at least refried beans.

Agreed about the commute today. It’s hard for me to understand why people freak out so much- shouldn’t they be used to this crap weather by now???

Hey ladyyy! I just caught up on a bunch of your posts :) I love that you put the beater in the freezer, that is such a good idea! Why didn’t I ever think of that?! And I also have to make multiple grocery trips every week, such a pain but I always forget something!

Reply

Glad you caught up! :)

Katie November 29, 2010 at 9:20 pm

Haha, I like EVEN numbers so much better than ODD numbers - I’m so glad you ended on 14. :-)

I am also so envious of our PE teachers (we have 2) - who wear sweats to school everyday - they make me want to take a nap.

Reply

cleaneatingchelsey November 30, 2010 at 7:40 am

You’re right - if I was wearing sweats every day, I would probably want to sleep. Good call Katie!

Lauren November 29, 2010 at 9:26 pm

What a perfect post as I’ve recently been wondering why you don’t eat eggs. Ha ha, weird I know.
Too funny that you put the beater in the freezer!

I need to know the 4:30 a.m. orange juice story! I loved this post and I have to admit I read it twice because I loved it so much. I always have to stop at the grocery store. Billy makes fun of my credit card statement…..a few dollars every day at Smith’s. I am a P.E. teacher and they don’t let me wear sweats. boo.

Reply

cleaneatingchelsey November 30, 2010 at 7:38 am

haha it’s not much of a story - just wanted to do the Shred off of Exercise TV and didn’t have any weights! Helllooo Orange Juice! I guess the Husband’s obsession is good for something!

I’m actually a p.e. teacher, and I get tired to “dressing down” every day. I feel like a slob some days. I wish I could get dressed up more.

Hey Chelsey!
Just wanted to thank you for the kind comments you wrote on my blog! I’m glad you found me because I’m glad to have found you!
you should try one of your cookies sometime, just a bite wont kill you.
I go to work in yoga pants which are my fancy version of sweats.
I put altoids in Chocolate Almond breeze, I guess its a poor mans version of that mint chocolate milk silk.

Reply

cleaneatingchelsey November 30, 2010 at 7:37 am

You’re right - the gluten probably won’t kill me in one bite… I should try it! haha.

That altoids trick is awesome.

Ha, funny post :) And TJ’s pumpkin has NOTHING on Libby’s…it almost has a metallic-y taste…bleh! Other than that, TJ’s kind of has my heart, even though I said I was mildly disappointed with it at first.

Gabriela @ Une Vie Saine November 30, 2010 at 6:54 am

That chocolate milk sounds amazing. I want.

And I’m with you on the OJ as weights. Once I did 30-day shred with like 1.5 lb cans. It wasn’t a very effective workout…

Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin November 30, 2010 at 8:15 am

Being able to wear sweats to class is one of my favourite things about being a college student! :D

You should try making your cookies gluten free sometime so that you can actually try them! I’m sure they would be just as good!

Reply

cleaneatingchelsey November 30, 2010 at 8:47 am

I should - and see if the husband notices. Nice call Chels!

Are you officially superstitious?

Danielle November 30, 2010 at 1:16 pm

I seriously thought I was THE ONLY one that goes to the store everyday due to my own negligence on the initial grocery trip. I make a list and everything for that initial trip and yet everyday I manage to remember something I forgot. You’d think I would learn after the first 30 times…. but sadly, I do not. :)

Reply

ihearteggs November 30, 2010 at 1:40 pm

I actually joked the other day I might have to break another bone this winter just so I can wear sweats to work for 8 weeks ago. Ahhh. the good life! lol

missymiller November 30, 2010 at 3:37 pm

I’m having a lot of tummy issues lately…..when did you start noticing your intolerances….how did you figure out the culprits….was it a little sad to give anything up?

I have noticed my tummy does not take kindly to cottage cheese. I notived this precisely the time when I discovered I love it and don’t want to live without it. Sigh.

I haven’t found “the back story” behind your allergies on your blog but if you have a post please lead the way!
