honey do list

June 6, 2011

The results are in! Yesterday, I sent out a quick poll on Twitter asking my followers to answer the following:

Now that I am on summer break, what would you like my posting schedule to look like?

You can vote here — but it looks like the majority of you say to keep the posts coming!

In the summer it’s much easier for me to take on a “life-casting” mentality with my blog since I have a lot more free time. We’ll see how this all goes!

I had to ask myself a very important question yesterday. What is a wife to do when her husband is finally at home on a Sunday afternoon? I chose what every good wife would choose  - put him to work!

It’s been a while since I gave some home updates. A few months ago we installed some new curtains by our front window. I did not want to cover up this window at all since it’s so big and lets the most amount of light inside the house. We I came up with a solution that was light and airy, but still gave the window a “finished” look.

Please excuse the lighting — mornings aren’t the best around here.

Yesterday, I had the Husband add some wall letterings and wall decor in the living room and kitchen.

When you walk into our home, you are smack dab in the middle of the living room. Upon entering, this is what you would see:

June 6, 2011 005
::sigh:: Pictures never do my home justice.

June 6, 2011 009
The wall pieces came in a set of four, but they are quite large and would definitely overwhelm one space of our house. So, I decided two in the kitchen would look nice! Over the buffet/hutch, we added the words “Eat Well, Laugh Often, Love Much”.

The wall art is from JC Penney’s, and the Word Art is from Wall Words.

I also have a new mailbox to hang on the exterior of the house, but the Husband didn’t have the right drill to do that yesterday. Another day (where I will most likely have more things for him to hang anyways…) I suppose.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

This morning I woke up ravenous. No joke — I even woke up at 4, ate a Rawxie cookie and went back to bed until 6. I wasn’t really hungry yesterday, so I guess it’s all catching up to me now.

Sadly, breakfast was semi-disappointing. I did not want hot oats, but didn’t think about it last night when I went to bed. Hot oats it was!

We won’t be fighting for long — they’re just too pretty to pass up.

Check back later to see what a teacher really does on her summer break.

Question: Do you have a “honey do” list? What breakfast never lets you down?

My “honey-do” list is HUGE right now… I’m planning our wedding (which will happen in less than 3 months!) and he has to finish renovating the house we’ll live in. I have faith that he’ll get it all done though, my fiance’ is a wonderful man!

Oh gosh Claire - you are in the same boat I was in last year! It got so stressful. I moved in the week before the wedding! eeek!

Scottish oats never let me down, especially compared to regular oats I find these much more filling.

Love the window! Much more refreshing than my view here in NYC-the wall of the next building!

my go-to breakfast is definitely a spinach-feta egg white omelette, post-workout!

Right now, my “honey-do” list is for my bf to put my road bike together! I’ve been excusing him from this task because he’s been busy all term working on his masters thesis, and was recently super sick for 2 weeks. However, it’s been 11 weeks since I bought that thing and I want to ride it!!
Hot oats never lets me down. Overnight oats almost always does. I just haven’t found the right mix for me, yet.

You better get that boy in gear! I always feel bad asking the Husband to do things as well when he’s busy!

I woke up STARVING this morning at 4 too (monday though, not sunday)! I couldn’t really identify it as hungry until after I woke up for the morning (a measly 40 minutes later) and did some computer stuff, ate a few dates stuffed with cashews, and went for a run. I came back hungry, and made a health smoothie. 2 hours later I was STARVING. I guess I didn’t identify/satisfy my true hunger the right way! I learned my lesson by 10:50am and approximately 2 meals and a snack later!

I think my body was craving oats, a banana and some nut butter and I know that’s exactly what would have done the trick!

My honey do list usually just consists of emptying the dishwasher, taking out the trash, and cleaning the bathroom! Those are my least favorite chores. lol! It will probably be growing though because we are moving soon.
Oatmeal never lets me down! It is definitely my go to breakfast! :)

Cleaning the bathroom? I’ve only gotten him to do that once. I would love it if he did it every time!

I wish we had our own place so I could have a honey do list! Right now, I do all my chores on my own :( haha.

And the one breakfast that will never let me down is an almond butter/apple butter banana bagelwich with a fruit salad on the side.

My husband is a teacher too…. so he is around to make a ‘honey-do’ list for me to do. Bummer! Two teachers under one roof is kind of different.

Honey do lists? Oh you know it! When we were in Aruba last, I actually explained to Skylar what a honey do list was. “Oh you mean where you tell daddy what to do?” Yep, exactly :)

A bowl of hot oats never lets me down! Sometimes when I’m feeling lazy, I just eat some toast with PB or a bowl of cereal, but I totally wish I had just put in the energy to make the oats!

When I finally move out, I hope my house will be as nice as yours! It’s a beauty.

I’m always so curious as to why some times I can wake up completely ravenous, I have come to the conclusion that I must have been running hard in a dream (just kidding, I haven’t actually figured out why). Either way, on those mornings a big bowl of oats is always in order :)

Your wall art/word art is so pretty! I love the contrast of black with pale coloured walls. You’ve given me some ideas for my apartment. :D
