day in the life of charlie

June 25, 2011

5:00 AM – It’s light outside, it’s light outside! Gotta get up! Do you think Mom will mind if I wake her up this early? Nah! I’m getting kind of hungry, and my legs could use a stretch outside. She’s not moving. Maybe if I set my head on the side of the bed and push my nose into her face – yup, that’ll do it.

Uh oh… she doesn’t look too happy about this.

5:30 – Mom… Mom? MOM! It’s time to get up now.

6:00 – Once my stomach is full, I tend to get reallly sleepy again. I guess it’s a good thing I can go back to sleep.

Mom? You’re totally ruining my beauty sleep. Why are you awake so early anyways?

7:00 – I think I’ll move my napping out to the deck. The sun is shining today!

9:00 – I wonder if I sit at the door and whine if my mom will come and play outside with me. Shoot – she thinks I want to come inside. I better let her wipe off my paws and then I’ll come in for… just a minute. Do you think she’ll play with  me when I whine to go back outside in a few minutes?

Sheesh.. Mom always is getting angry. I just want to play.

Yay! She said she would play with  me!

Instead, I’m going to run away from her every time she tries to take my beloved stick. That’ll teach her.

11:00 – I make an excellent sous chef. My floor licking skills are impeccable!

1:00 – All of that cooking and baking made me hungry. Nothing a little tree bark can’t fix.

2:00 – Geez. My mom is so weird. Why is she always taking pictures of food? Doesn’t she know food is for eating?

2:30 – Time for my afternoon nap. Mulch makes an excellent bed as well as snack. You’ve never eaten mulch before? I’ve got a whole yard full of it. I’m willing to share.

4:00 – 6:00 – It’s time to chase animals out of the yard and act like a crazy canine until my dad gets home. Mom is a good sport and plays with me again!

6:00 – Quality man bonding time.

7:00 – Time to play with my bone! I wonder how many times Mom and Dad will get it from under the couch when I deliberately push it under there tonight! Last night it was 2309423098 times. They love me so much.

9:30 – Time to hit the hay. Today was a full day, and heck – I’ve gotta be up by 5!

I’m so fascinated by dogs! I never had one of my own (le sigh) but Gingie does and I could literally just watch him for hours. Really, what do they think about all day? They’re such simple creatures. Charlie is a cutie patooootie :)

Dogs are the best. We have 2 of them (a Pomeranian and a German Shepperd) and they are absolutely amazing. In fact, they’re both cuddled around my feet right now! How can you not LOVE that to absolute pieces?!

Too funny, and too true. Charlie is adorable, I have two dogs (an English pointer named Loki and a labmaraner named Nani) that pretty much act the same way.

Ahh to have a dog’s life. Charlie is such a cutie! Thankfully, my pup doesn’t wake me up in the morning… not that it would really make a difference because I get up at 530 anyways… Actually, I think I end up waking HER up with my shuffling around the kitchen.

AWWW! That is so my mom’s dog with the going IN AND OUT. DRIVES ME CRAZY! She also saves it for when I’m leaving, trying to nap etc. She also does the shove the bone under the table thing. Drives us all nuts. And Maggie my Jack with the tennis ball drives me CRAZY whining to play play play until we have to hide it from her. I love this post we can all relate!

My dog’s day is similar except for a huge stretch of the day where she bugs to go to the pond in our apartment complex and bother the ducks. :) Then I have the job of keeping her 58 pound self out of the pond…

I wish I was a dog. Because I love eating bark. Or because I love napping and being wrapped in a blanket.
