wiaw… part 8

July 6, 2011

Sometimes, my meals kind of blow.

You know the days — you just aren’t excited to eat much. What you do eat, you hate. You finish a meal and think, “wow, that’s really NOT what I wanted.”

I know, I hate those days too.

Yesterday, however, was certainly not one of those days. Yesterday was one of those days where you finish each bite and think, “oh my gosh I want to have that again.. like right now.” Yesterday was one of those days where I did not want to share my food with anyone… even if they were a nine and seven year old (my niece and nephew who I watch on Tuesdays).

I think I just might repeat yesterday again today.

Peas and Crayons

Breakfast — 6:45 am

Recycled picture, same breakfast.

  • overnight oats
  • cinnamon
  • blueberries
  • grilled banana muffin
  • peanut butter

Snack — 10:15 am

Ants on a log anyone? This used to be one of my favorite snacks when I was younger. And I am glad to say that my niece and nephew did not like them… more for me. However, I found it strange they didn’t like it. Meh.

Lunch — 12:00 pm

Salad beast:

  • baby spinach
  • tomato
  • cucumber
  • onion
  • leftover grilled asparagus
  • topped with balsamic and hummus (on the side)

There’s also half of a baked leftover baked potato lurking in the back.

Snack — 2:30 pm

I was HUNGRY yesterday afternoon. I could have eaten this bag of almonds/raisins x3. Unfortunately, I wasn’t at my house.

Dinner — 6:15 pm

Such a summery and delicious meal! I made a broccoli pasta salad (recipe to come tomorrow!) and grilled some tofu on the stovetop. Everything was topped with nutritional yeast to give it a “cheesy” flavor — and we can’t forget about the ketchup on the side. I put ketchup on my ketchup.

Snack 8:15 pm

I was so hungry for my snack last night that I had devoured it before I even took a picture, but I had the usual bowl of chopped apple, raisins, and granola — and maybe a peanut butter spoon. Okay, there was a peanut butter spoon.

Then, I was still feeling snacky, so I got out the ice cream.

I know you’re all jealous of my stellar food choices yesterday. The good news is you can have it all too.

Question: What was the best thing you ate (or are going to eat or did eat yesterday) today?
