with a cherry on top

September 21, 2011

Monday was a really long day for me. I woke up at 4:15, was out of the house by 7:00, and didn’t get home until after 9:00 at night. It was a great day, though – just super busy!

By the time I dragged my sorry behind to my front door with my 18 bags (bag lady, anyone?), I was ready to sit down and relax… err, write some blog posts. When I got to the front door, I noticed a petite package waiting for me with a Larabar stamp on the return address.

This was a complete surprise! I love working with the folks over at LÄRABAR, and they always take time to surprise people who love their product with the very latest flavors and news. So, what was waiting for me in my surprise package?

September 21, 2011 010
The newest member of the LÄRABAR family – Chocolate Chip Cherry Torte!

Now, I know everyone has their absolute favorite LÄRABAR (mine is Cashew Cookie), but this new flavor honestly almost takes the cake. There are so many great flavors going on in the bar that it is absolutely hard to beat.

September 21, 2011 007

This flavor is filled with real cherries and chocolate chips in every bite, making every bite sweeter than the last. It took a lot of resistance to be able to put them away the night I received them to be saved for some after school snacking, which is just what I did today.

I had half the bar before my run, and the other half after – after being chilled in the freezer (the only way to eat a LÄRABAR!), it was so decadent and worth the wait.

September 21, 2011 011
Look out for these guys in a store near you soon – I know I will be! Thanks again, LÄRABAR!

Question: What is your favorite snack bar?

Larabar sent me these complimentary bars to try out (without asking for any sort of review), and my opinions are 100% my own.

Larabars are my favorite - especially the chocolate brownie flavor! I’ll definitely look for this flavor. My local co-op has larabars on sale for the next 3 weeks (99 cents!), so I’ve been stocking up while they’re cheaper.

99 cents? That’s such a steal!

I’ve never frozen a larabar before but that sounds like it would be amazing! I can’t wait to try out this new flavor. Cherry + chocolate is pretty much the perfect combo.

It’s the only way I’ll eat them! It’s so good!

I’ve never had a larabar! …Pretty sure this needs to change because EVERYONE says how good they are! I’m just bad at whipping out the cash for them! They always sound so tasty though!!!

Yes, I’m for real. Sad, isn’t it….. Don’t feel too bad for me, I’ve tried to make my own from other bloggers recipes. But I’m pretty sure I need to give this a try. Especially since Chelsey said :)

My fave bars are ALL the Clif/Luna bars, especially the Clif Z bars!! They are sooo good! :D

Yum, I love Larabars - my favourite is the Cocoa flavoured one (brown package) and that’s pretty much the only one I eat, not because I don’t like the others but because I get stuck in a boring rut that way. So I need to try to change up my flavours; thanks!

Anna @ The Guiltless Life September 21, 2011 at 5:51 pm

Oh and I’m particularly partial to Luna Bar’s Nutz Over Chocolate flavour too…mm, that one is like a candy bar to me (peanut butter + chocolate - hello??)

Omg I’ve been DYINGG to try this new flavour - chocolate + cherry (aka, the star of my favourite Larabar, Cherry Pie) = foodgasm! It’s funny you eat them frozen, because my favourite way to eat Larabars is piping hot straight out of the microwave! Blueberry Muffin out of the microwave tastes JUST like a real muffin ;)

As for my favourite snack bar, Larabar probably tops the list, along with Bumblebars Elevate Me! bars - all natural, all delicious :)
